I am bewildered as to why they changed it when it was soooo much better before. I miss the restaurant, dairy and profits. Was it TOO profitable and they wanted us to buy more gold or what? I do not understand the current one. It is just....feed the ducks to get eggs you don't need and the goats to get milk you don't need and the donkey..I haven't a clue. I don't get it or enjoy it and now focus on the other two farms almost exclusively. I hope they make it more interesting.

I have decided to run an experiment today - keeping an spreadsheet showing the amount of money I am making per farm factoring in running costs. In the two and half hours I have played, I have made $1,401,167. It breaks down to $133,362 from main farm, $418,390 from gourmet farm, and $849,415 from the flower farm (thanks to the overnight honey cream). My gourmet farm doesn't have donkeys on it yet . . . but running the gourmet farm with bakery is making me a decent profit. And none of my farms are factory farms - all their happiness is 80% or higher. So I am perfectly okay with the new gourmet farm. :) And this is with my co-op having no research done on the gourmet farm yet. I can't wait to see what my final numbers are at the end of the day.

I don't know why everyone complains about the donkeys. With the hungry peaches, needed to make the most profitable thing in the bakery, and the almonds, you need more poop. Donkeys are poop machines. And you can sell off the donkeys when you need cash. (I just wait till the barn is full then sell all at once.)

The extra fields need the extra poopers. Always a balancing act.

Be interested to see that spread sheet. Though there are so many variables I think making an accurate one on all levels would be a nightmare.

I haven't anything against donkeys - just haven't built them up - planning two stables once I get the peaches and almonds up to highest level I can.

What keeps throwing me on this spreadsheet is that I automatically click bubbles without thinking and some of them have money in them so I am looking at my total on the spreadsheet and the total on the game and they are off a couple of dollars and my mind goes ????????? then I realize I must have clicked a bubble.

The gourmet farm is okay once getting used to it. Not as much profit in it. The production time I think is slow. It is hard to find balance in keeping the farms running. I have 2 goat. I will eventually destroy ( I don't have enough time to use the goats, to bz making donkey and duck feed). 4 ducks and 2 donkey. Maybe once I level up the water wheel it will give me faster times and work a little smother. Otherwise destroy more or buy a water tower. Of course that's what the game makers want, buy gold.

Water mill level 6 (with architekt) making enought for 2 building of each. In 2 weeks daily play I have 400 food of each in stocks. Level 5 still not fast enought for 2.

So my experiment is done and what have I discovered after approximately 12 hours of play:

    a) I really need a life . . . is there an organization for addicts of Big Farm?

    b) Final Numbers:
    Main Farm - 82% Happiness
    Income In - $1,300,296
    Running Costs - $57,760
    Total Profit - $1,242,536

    Gourmet Farm - 89% Happiness
    Income In - $1,073,004
    Running Costs - $21,086
Construction Costs - $300,000 (two level 1 donkey stables)
    Total Profit - $751,918

    Flower Farm - 90% Happiness
    Income In - $1,781,986
    Running Costs - $37,858
    Total Profit - $1,744,128

Total Profit for the Day - $3,738,582

Final Opinion of the Gourmet Farm - With my style of play, it brings in the equivalent of the other two farms so I think it is a keeper. Running costs were actually lower then the other two farms. It did bring in the least amount of income (even adding in the 300,000 construction costs) but it is not as fully developed as the other two farms are so I weigh that the least.

:) Good night . . . time to turn the lights off and head to bed.

It works pretty much the same as your main farm, you have gardens instead of fields & you grow dandelions, barley & lambs lettuce, to make food for the 3 types of animals. For goats you need to grow dandelions & turn them into goat feed in the watermill.
