You can continue to add more money right up to the last minute, if you like, to get more happiness. But the happiness bonuses can't be finalized until the time is up.

You will get a telescope regardless of how much you donated - just at rank 1000 the happiness of the telescope is boosted somewhat as a bonus.

Just a comment, the decimals are misplaced in the first post, where it specifically describes each level. Example: $50,653,08 looks like 50 Million, but should be written: $5,065,308... because its 5 million.

They are not exactly misplaced, they are the Indian way of writing. I was confused as well first time I saw it from the Indian server

Maybe Manish can switch to the American way or writing instead?

Yes, that is correct. Donating 1 dollar will grant you 1 point and will give you a cute little simple telescope with a whopping 1 happiness point

- btw, even 100 dollars will give you the same telescope.

I have donated money to the charity event and the smiley meter thing on the side of the event thing says 39 on that happiness scale. But when do I get the telescope? ?( I already donated the money & the event lasts for 3 days---does this mean I get my telescope after the 3 days are up, at the end of the event, or what? And when I get it, where is it? Does it appear in my inventory box, or the drop box, or what? So far, nothing is showing up to indicate that I've got a telescope anywhere. Thanks, and sorry if that sounds like a lame question--this is the first time I've come across the Charity Driv event. Thanks for the help.

You get the telescope at the end of the event, because everybody can keep donating to get better happiness or a certain telescope. Say you wanted to have the rare telescope and need to end on rank 1-3 to get it, you will need to keep donating to stay there and compete with the rest to get it. If you do not want a particular telescope, you can leave it be and just wait for the event to end. Do note that your rank may give you some more happiness now and you may fall off that rank towards the end so your telescope will drop in happiness. The telescope will be found in your drop box once the event has ended.

You get your telescope when the event end, and it will show up in your dropbox.
When you have get it, you are free to built it where you want, your main farm, your gourmet or your flower farm (if you have all 3 farms of course)

But notice this: In the left side bar task, the telescope did not count as a deco!
- So if you get a task as e.g. have 10 deco on your farm, it can be necesarry temporary to store the telescope to get room to build 1 or more ordinary deco's for doing a task like that. (after doing a task like that you can put in the telescope again)

I have a question and Latten, if you're so kind as always surely you could answer.
Last time we had the charity event was on 20 of July and since then...nothing...
In other times, it always came between 2 or 3 month distance....now there are 5 months distance and nothing...
I know that you want us to spend our dollars and eventually our gold on the temporary island events, but you know, there are still some players with hundred millions of dollars in their account and with the wish of gaining a rare telescope.
So Latten, do you abort for good this event, or there is the smallest chance that we will have it again in the near future?

Hey clinn,

while temporary farms could play a small role in the charity event not coming as frequently as it used to, we currently have no information (yet) that it will be gone for good.

As soon as Timo and I are back in the offices, we'll forward to the team that some of you would still like to get the chance to obtain missing telescopes for your farms or deco towers.

I cannot promise it will be back soon (or ever for that matter), as you know events may come and go at different times and with different time intervals, but I promise your feedback will be forwarded to increase chances of a quick return.

What happened to the Telescope events? I finally have hundreds of millions of dollars to spend on a really nice telescope. Will we ever see this auction event again?

Pretty sure it was a money dump for higher level players...

Now we have the Island and Vikings as a money dump for higher level players.

Coincidentally, I haven't seen the Telescope since before the first island.

I have been playing for just under a year now and love to fill my deco tower. I am missing a few of the decos from the Orphanage Charity Drive,

Would love the chance to fill those wholes of missing decos so how about bring back some of the old stuff before you add anything more new.

You can see from Steffi`s post above (#81) that this question was raised with the devs around new year & as you know GGS do not announce when any event is going to show up, as they like to keep the element of surprise - However, I will ask Steffi on Monday if there is anything new that can be added on this issue for you.

There can be both a good things and a bad things to bring back the Charity Drive.
- That also depends how they bring it back, if they do.

If they just simply put it in between 2 tempoary farms without changing anything else, I will on my us farm get problems to get shells/runestones to buy seed to the greenhouse, because the Charity Drive was a 7 days event and we can not earns shells/runestones on the Charity Drive event.
- I think I'll not stay alone with that problem.

But on the plus side is that, if they bring back Charity Drive, newer players who never have seen the Charity Drive, will get a chance to get a telescope.
