I agree, and do not expect to change anybody else's option to play if they want. However, I DO expect to be warned of possible negative effects before I follow a task on my main farm. Working the Tropical Island vigorously for a month to have enough shells over the period when I would have less time to play is now negated by doing Viking Farm. And of course, developers never mentioned that would happen.

MRG, please let me clarify that my comment was in no way in reference to what your talking about. Your upset because you didn't read the announcement and instead went and unlocked the viking farm to only find that the ship requirements changed. I get that your upset because ggs did not put anything about that in the task bar and i agree, it would be nice if ggs advised players to read the announcement first to ensure they are ready for the requirements and changes the new farm will bring once unlocked. However, to be honest i am not soo sure that we should really have to be told that because it's something we should take upon ourselves to do.

Now i don't say that to be short, i say that because i had to leave the game for awhile due to health reasons and when i came back i saw the island farm was finally here...instead of doing my homework and reading the announcement and forums i went head first and unlocked the island. Had i known about the ship i would have held off a little longer before unlocking the island farm, but that was not ggs's fault that was mine because i did not read the announcement and familiarize myself with what i was getting into.
It all worked out though and i am sure it will for you as well^^

Sorry, Deanna, but expecting players to go to the Forum for Official Announcements every time the developers decide to add or change things is unrealistic. Yes, stupid me for not doing so, but we play this game to relax and have some fun, or at least I used to. The last couple of weeks I have been trying to figure out the Horse Ranch and breeding in the forum and Official Announcements but gave up because they made it so complicated. Having tasks to follow is the best way for me, and probably for most other players. And yes I am still upset about the ship. And Captain Barnacle is still waiting for berries I can't produce. And I am never again going to work as hard as I did on the Tropical Island, because the developers can and will do whatever they feel necessary to get their Gold purchase quota, even at the expense of losing players. Sorry to rant, but I had to get it off my chest.

After playing the viking farm for a few days and giving it a chance I have come to the following opinion.......kudos to GGS for bringing us a bit of variety in regards to the items we can grow on the farm, another thumbs up to the graphics/look of the viking farm.......and now to the major negative, the viking farm is a blatant copy of the island farm. The production times and decoration happiness/size is exactly the same, only difference is the product being grown and the decoration on offer. Someone criticized GGS about this earlier and called it lazy programming.....I completely agree. GGS should look after its paying customers, not disrespect them by taking shortcuts and then saying how excited we should be about these "new improvements". The least they could do is take the time to bring us actual bug free improvements, not little graphical distractions to fool people into thinking something new has been brought into the game.

i like the challenge of both the islands you can do them so that you get enough shells, runes to supply the boat it takes time. just like the other farms. it's a shame that the boat asks for the berries straight away without giving players the chance to get stock. the 2nd time i done island i had stock so i could get the boat out. its like anything in life prioritize whats important and will give you the tools to do better. i really like the graphics on the viking farm and as to vikings and penguins its a game you need imagination.

Just another way to totally suck us dry, before we could even prep for another cash cow, and then lose everything we put into it in 30 days. Yipee!

One really annoying thing is how hard I worked to get the most seeds I could, so the ship can turn them into horseshoes. Now all that has happened is the ship doesn't ask for those ones, but instead asks for the ones I have very few of. The horses are sucking up my horseshoes just to try to get where I can add a horse, and there is barely a way for me to get horseshoes now. I cannot dump so much into another island that I will lose in 30 days. The game really is essentially over for me at this point.

I have made 150 penguin feed yet I cannot feed my penguins it is showing up white when I try to click it, also cannot make the wood in the tree grove as my 20 fertilizer is white too, so what is the problem is it a glitch in the game? I produced lots of feed as the second part of the 1st chapter, so now I am stuck until gg fixes this, oops false alarm I just realised I had run out of snow dollars lol

Yo GGS! After all this complaining about wich berries is wanted on the ship, maybe you could let us choose weather to deliver tropical or "viking" fruit/berries?
Or maybe you could have Bennys twin brother, mysteriously also called Benny, to park his van and trade fruit for berries?
    Just an idea! :)

In chapter one, small fry there is an explanation that they are introducing penguins to the North to preserve the species. Not sure that explanation was there from the beginning or not. Nice way to cover their tails though.

If you're talking about the free items given to us by GGS as compensation, they should already be in your inventory. The Seaweed feeds for your stables appear at the 6 'o clock position on the wheel menu. If you use those, it gives you an immediate harvest without waiting.

If its the Viking farm ones in your email, you need to unlock the island first.

I am sadly disappointed that these additional farms seem to only be beneficial for the high level players with money to burn. I would love to have done the Viking Farm because I love winter and snow but I barely have enough money to keep up with the necessities of the primary 3 farms. I found that the Island Farm was a money pit a little too late and am now playing catch up with little to show for the money I sunk into Island Farm.

    Oh well...such is life.

    What the Heck!

No runestones for demolishing the Viking Farm... I hope they fix this!

The Island farm always said no shells, but you still get them, its probably the same thing.

Thank you, I can't even see them on your pic *sadface* but I see a big hand and yellow and blue eyes on two blobs. I wish I could force-zoom the GGBF page. I did find more pink blobs along the coast now, maybe you were right with tiny GGBF employee portraits.

I started looking for the small people after I read your posts and sure enough there they were, but I was only able to find 10...Thanks for the post....it helps to pass the time searching for them. lol

Yes, it is a mistake--you will get Runestones when you demolish items! Don't know how many for each item, but I got some for demo-ing a penguin pen even though it said '0'.

Jiesta, I had read your post, but can you make out where the head? or anything else on the second one in my screen cap is?

Oh, I only see your post now, snork - as I am quite busy with preparing Christmas dinners ^^

The "thing" you are referring to in your screenshot looks like a rock to me, just some stones lying there together. The "thing or small face" that puzzles me most is to be found in the screenshot of Volty (Attachment 16223): left of the little troll, there is a dark brown face with piercing yellow eyes (??? ?() Or is this just a normal owl sitting on the ground instead of high up in a tree (where owls belong)?

Here is another one for you: did you already discover the fox? Is a real puzzle to find him, too! ;)

I don't have to look for either of those, I remember both the little yellow-eyed, brown-faced troll and the white fox, whom I initially wanted to be a Norwegian forest cat but has to be an arctic fox - that was the only thing I saw apart from rabbits and owls back at the start!

What did people guess this was?

    Attachment not found.

At first I thought Golem with a halo. Then that the stone was part of a giant turtle. Then that it was just a pair of cut off legs. It's the most disturbing little blob for me.

Naw...It looks just a rock to me with a shadow on top with snow. Just my thought.

the runestones are few and far between. not worth spending hard earned money for. I wont ever get enough to buy anything. so much for the Viking farm. wont be doing it anymore.
