I can see now that if you do not breed your own horses that it becomes really hard (next to impossible) to get them up in level by the mid teens.

p.s. i know you may think i am being delusional a bit... but truth is... the same horse you spent like 70000+ horseshoes to make level 10, can now after this update be trained to same level with like 5000 horseshoes only... so this stalling thing that i am talking about has eaten lots of our horseshoes for absolutely nothing! that is same as if they simply deleted 65000 of our horseshoes for nothing and no one has even noticed it...

Same thing I spent around 80,000 HS to train my first horse to level (13,13,13) but today i am able to train my second to level(13,13,13) with just 6000 HS. What kind of crap logic is this ?? :cursing:

I think we (as in: players that did a considerable amount of training before the price drop) should get reimbursements. As the players who wanted to get ahead lost alot of incentive.

I appreciate getting this more official horse quest chain (Let's Get Trotting). It will clear up alot of basic questions and unncessary postings.

I have a horse with breeding level 14. I performed a full maxed out training session and that number did not move. This does not seem right.

It is 1600 competition horseshoes for level 3 of the stable. Does anyone know how many for level 4?

    2400 competition horseshoes

Look at this box. I am not 100 percent sure what this means.

Does this mean you should cross breed a horse with a jumping bonus with a horse with a strength bonus?

When you breed past the first generation, you will notice (Prior to breeding) a symbol like that in the potential Foal's box that says "Chance of improved breeding quality." Both horses have to be at least breeding value 10 I believe.

A horses Breeding Quality, as mentioned before, will be located in the upper left corner (the breeding value heart is in the upper right) of the horse page.

I already have a horse with a bonus of Jumping +8. But it does not satisfy that box.

Because breeding effects and breeding quality are diffrerent things and unfortunately quality going up is random. Jumping +8 is effect. You need quality. Quality is shown in the red dot. If there is no quality it's not shown.

There are 6 breeding quality levels:
    Common
    Uncommon
    Rare
    Exceptional
    Incredible
    Legendary

So no matter how high my horses are in achievement and breeding value, it is totally random as to whether or not quality appears?

Gavin, this is a 3rd generation horse... so I took 2 horses that were 2nd generation and were about 25 breeding quality each, and this is the foal it created ( i have trained it since so the breeding level is higher, but the circle with the number has not changed)

    Attachment not found.

the higher the breeding level and quality of the 2 parents will dictate the breeding quality, which can only level up through breeding

Angie, I have two second generation horses that I can breed into one. I take it that you suggest that?.... One has breeding value in the 30s and the other in the 20s. One is training, so it will be a couple of hours before I can do that. In any event, that dialog box is not clear - if GGS is listening.

Not totally random. It says in the announcement " The foal will receive the more valuable parent's breeding quality level. The higher the foals breeding value, the higher the additional chance for an increase of its breeding quality."
But it's still just a chance.

I think it will give you a good chance. Remember the little pink dot in the foal box before you breed says "chance of a new breeding quality level".. make sure that icon is there under the training percentages, or there will be no chance. Although with that high of parents I am sure the chance must be there. Make sure you also look at the next screen so you can chose the breeding effects you want to add, not get random ones.

OK, long time, no words from me...
I've got a couple of problems with the stables and stuff linked to them.
I'm gonna start with one of them that I can't find a sollution to here in the forum.
Maybe I'm incompetent but I've searched and found nada...

The "stable tasks" that was given to me by the redhead included:
    - Train two horses to breeding value (BV) 10 or higher. (somethin' like that...)

So I trained my first horse to 13/13/13 (= BV: 13).
I trained my second horse to 10/10/10 (= BV: 10).

While I collected the last of the training points for the 2nd horse (stable-window still open), I immediatly after started breeding the 2 horses. I got a foal with BV 11, and the parents dissappeared.

When I closed the stable-window I recieved the reward for having trained 2 horses to BV 10.
Then a new stable-task window appeared asking me to start breeding horses.
    Wich I had just done.

I'ts a small error in the programming but one that should be corrected.
I don't care much about the reward itself (a few fertilizers doesn't matter when U'r above Lv80...) but I won't be able to see the next task untill I've trained another horse to BV10 and started breeding again. So basically, it's annoying...

Also, It seems I've wasted thousands of horse shoes on getting horse one to BV13. If I'd known U'd average the 2 parents BV I wouldn't have started breeding untill both were at the same BV..!!!

I also have to agree with some angry comments about the parents dissapearing.
I admit, I didn't read Latten's 2 pages long description about the stables. But I also don't Think I should have to! Afterwords I DID notice that "under the question mark" in the "stable-quest description" it says that the parents will no longer be avaliable. Personally I don't think that's enough, simply because it is so weird and beyond normal logic...
    I personally think there should be a text message that comes up the first time I'm breeding two horses that says;
"Your 2 horses currently in the stables will be replaced by 1 better horse (and 1 empty box)."
    Or:
"Your 2 horses will be merged to 1 better horse (and 1 empty box)."

Though I still don't think it makes sense.
I do agree that one horse must go if I don't have a box for it, but both..???
And to keep the parents would mean that I need to work harder to uppgrade the stables to get Another box for the next horse (it would benefit GGS). Now you're fixing it automatically in a VERY strange way...
It can't be beyond the GGS programmers to write a script that makes it impossible to breed 2 horses that are too closely related..? Especially since U already prepared a family tree! That way U'd force the hand of the player in a good way (in my opinion). If the player wants better horses he/she MUST get rid of the old horses to have room for the new, better ones.

In my opinion, the "surprises" makes the stables feel "not properly thought through".

    Dissappearing parents? Hmm, very odd.
But on the other hand, It's not the most odd thing in this game. I've got a surferdude starting a beach-bar every 2nd month and he needs investments of 20-100 Million $'s..!!! Over and over again... ;(
And he sends me sea shells by the million as a "thank U"! :S
And there's Another dude coming to my mainland farm conveniently trading seashells for seeds, palmtrees, waterslides and houses..??!!! WTF! ?(
Not to mention the deranged captain giving me horse shoes in exchange for vegetables and fruit. 8|
And then there are the stables that can be bought and rebuilt by giving someone these horse shoes... :p
It's a mad, mad, mad, mad World U give us, GGS!
    Lol!

But, of course, it is a game...
And while this stable-thingy happened I was fooling around with this gorgeous woman who's crazy about me, so I don't care that much about these glitches. U'll sort them out somehow...
Fortunatly I've actually got a life - U know, AFK, outside BF..!
Maybe that's why it has taken me so long to reach Lv80..?

Well, I'll harass this forum when I've got another glitch worth moaning about, and no babe in my lap!

    That worked....

    Got Elegance +9

And Common as well. It took over 130,000 horseshoes to make that happen. They are going to need to adjust the ratios or the rate of acquiring horseshoes. I fill the boat completely all 4 times a day since it was invented, and yet this is draining the horseshoes fast.

    I guess not.... :)

You must have been maxing out the the fruit with the arrows on the boat

How far are you in the horse challenges? 900,000 would still dry up long before you got very high, by my calculation.

For more efficient use of horseshoes, don't do intensive training but max out on non-intensive.

This is a bit mad - I am not stupid - I have a degree from a good uni - but it took me three times of reading through the update to understand it all and now I'm trying to work out how to explain it to a friend whose English isn't great (not a criticism -my Greek is non-existent!)

I hope actually breeding horses is a lot less complicated than it sounds!

I actually did minimum fruit from the first Island to the second. And middle fruit from the 2nd to the 3rd, since the Island's been back I've been doing max.

I am currently on the second set, part 4. A lot of parts happened automatically, since I already had maxed my starter horse at 10, and the training grounds at 5.

It's not just that it cost about 200 times more horseshoes to train my horse (and I have no horseshoes and nearly fainted at the screencap of someone with 629109 srsly omg wtf) - but due to that slow process my/your opponents levelled up much higher than now, when you can jump 10-20 levels at a time.

That's a loss that can never be repaired, and it affects future generations, because I found out it doesn't matter which horse I compete with, the opponents are at their veryveryhigh level even against my new horse.

In my lines I have jump power 4, jump power 6, and jump power 8. If I carry all those into subsequent generations, do they stack? or is only the highest going to matter.

winning competitions seems to be the goal. There is still the undisclosed new feature after the ranch for using golden horseshoes, but i am not sure if all competition wins are paid with them or if we can win cash or gold.... I just go with the flow & collect stuff and figure that one day i will know what to do with it all lol ... If there is one thing i have learnt about bf, it is that it requires patience & lots of it. 8|

That's too low to breed anyway, but no, they don't stack. My second generation mutant has lower points than both its parents and grandparents.

I'm talking effects, not the raw stat for each talent. And with the help of a co-op mate (thanks Angie!) I got my answer - they do stack. Looks like a "specialized" horse could have +10s in multiple effect slots, all stacking?

Could anyone tell me where you find how many golden horseshoes you have? I keep earning them but can't find how many I have accumulated anywhere. I can only find the grey horseshoes...
