Hey mate, if anyone else is bored, TOUCHE

takes ages to collect horse shoes to train them. Then you you have to equally train them in all areas and takes HOURS PER TRAINING SESSION

Help: sell things to the ship to earn horseshoes. TIP: dont buy things in farm management to earn horseshoes when the amount of things you have to buy/price per unit is high: i.e. 365 cherries

There is obviously an issue(s) with this latest addition to the game. Aka, Horse Farm. I hope Goodgame Big Farm does something to improve the chances of us winning challenges and winning gold horseshoes. I will do nothing on the horse farm for now and wait and see what happens.

Would be nice if there were more incentives to bother with the horse ranch.

We should get manure for fertilizer and there should be prize money for winning competitions in the form of cash or gold that we should get along with golden horseshoes or the golden horseshoes should just be discontinued altogether.

Bored? No. Irritated and disgusted? Yes.

I didn't even realize in the beginning that I could increase the amount of horseshoes I use in training to get it to intensive training. Yeah right! I was winning just as much before as now, maybe even more. The "competitors" increase at the same level as I do, so it makes no difference at all! I'm going to stop using my horseshoes for intensive until they figure out what they're going to do with the stable. It's ludicrous right now to throw away all our horseshoes to compete with imaginary horses where the computer can randomly decide who wins.

At least if we were competing with other players' horses, it would be more fair. That's coming "soon" I guess, so I'll hold off until then.
As it is, if you train your horse evenly accross all 3 skills it ends up being unable to win at any event. I changed to training for just one event & while I still lost every time at the other 2, I did get wins in the event that "Also Ran" was good at.
THAT's how to win? Really? What a crock!
I guess that's why I just lost all three, because I've been stupidly training evenly across the board! Do the devs have their heads up their butts?

I only tried it because the little info that we do have says each event requires 2 of the 3 skills & it did seem to make a difference. Now because we can only go to level 10, mine are alll getting evened up again & I hardly win at all anymore. At least when we have more than 1 horse we can train each one for a different event, guess we just have to make do with our 1 multievent horse for now lol ^^

I just wanted to let you know that we collected your criticism regarding the horse ranch, and passed it on to the developement team :)

Of course I can't promise any immediate changes, but be assured they really appreciate to know what's bothering you.

Am I bored with it? You bet.

The last time the island came up I did NOT spend any gold and barely made it through part 1.

One last thing. I wish the architect was on call in farm management again. I have things I still need to upgrade on my main farm and I swear he hides down the road and waits until I have something else going one one of the other farms before he pulls in the driveway, then leaves before that project is done and I can get him started on a job.

I agree with you about the architect, he should come much more often, at least a couple times a week if not more, I've needed houses built for ages and he always catches me just when I am doing something out of the blue.

The first time at the island I really tried, but it cost too much, the second time I just did the first level and then just planted crops and sold them. You don't get money from planting crops and selling them you get shells, lots of shells so just keep on planting on as many fields as you have. I got rid of the orchards from level one and the animals and everything except houses and fields once I completed level one. Just did crops and sold them and I got a lot of shells. More than I will probably ever use I even bought deco's with some of them. Oh also the drinks with mangoes produce a lot of shells if you just want to do that over and over again. Just pick what you want to do and you will be successful in your OWN way, to heck with the game.

As long as you get shells for seeds that.s all that matters and for the boat I never give the boat my fruit from the farm, just the greenhouse fruit, I give enough to get the cash prize what is it 171,000 or whatever which compensates me for giving corn, cabbage, dandelions, eggs, pigs or milk. Sometimes lavender or wheat though that is expensive so I try not to give the boat anything worth a lot of money.

I have enough horseshoes to train my horse and I figured out it's best not to train intensively. check your stable stats to see what the horse needs and do just enough to keep it upgrading at a decent level [ie don't be spending more than a few hundred horseshoes at a time] and do that for each type of training and take it to competition. I have won more than I have lost there. I am slowly upgrading my training areas to level 3. I have heard of people upgrading their horse to level 7 and losing competitions. You can't just take it all the way at once. The setup wasn't meant for that. You have to do it gradually. Train in smaller amounts at each type and then compete until you lose. That is another thing I figured out. After a successful competition check details and see what your odds are of winning again. If they are good, do another round. Hope this helps.

Rant over. Have a good day.[/QUOTE]

Save your game gold until you get 2,000, then double it in the mine with your gold, gold mining license. Buy a water tower for each farm. With Level 1 Water Towers, I now have LOTS of poo! Lots of fertilizer, humus, and feed too. :-)

Thanks! That's a good idea. :) Almost there... only 498 gold pieces to go... :S ;( ... I'll be saving for a while lol. I actually do have a water tower on the main farm already, and it does help a bit. :) My main problem, though, is that I'm not here often enough or long enough. If I played more, I'd probably have more poo. ;) The horse poo thing would just be a nice addition lol.

Anyhoo... I'll quit derailing the thread. ;)

Yup still bored by it....I look at all that space in the horse ranch and wish I could fill it with fields, stables and orchards to make it an extension of my main farm. It may improve with further updates but at the moment i'd have to say the ranch is one of the worst additions to the game since my bigfarm experience began.

The gold horseshoes are used to upgrade the stable, riding arena, and other horse stuff.

Well I am running out of horseshoes so it is the end of horse training for me. My opponents are at level 11 and I am at level 8 so needless to say I am not winning races anymore. The exorbitant amount of horseshoes it takes to train is what is one of the big problems with the setup of the horse ranch. I tried to catch as many boats as I could and sell as much tropical fruit as I could which is what fetches the most horseshoes but I refused to sell things like cherries and peaches and almonds just giving them away for what I consider 'nothing'. We get no money or anything else of value from the horse ranch yet not even xp at least so why give away what would amount to millions of dollars of produce away for something that gives us nothing in value in return. If at least it was more 'fun' I would say fine. But there's no animation, you don't interact with your horse, like someone said you do with your dog. You doing see the competitions happening. You don't see the horse performing the training. It's bloody boring is what it is. It's paying to watch grass grow and paint dry. It's ridiculous. So once my horseshoes are gone I'm done. I will collect horseshoes from tropical fruit because you can't sell it anywhere else, and sell things like eggs and milk and pigs etc just enough to get to that magic level so you get cash for stuff but that's it. The stupid Barbie ranch can just sit and collect dust. I've heard that the competitors go up to level 19 good grief if you have to get enough horseshoes to do that you would need literally millions of them and it would take forever. I don't know what level the training facilities go up to but if it's similar I don't see me in the horse business.

my horses are now level 10/10/10 and training arenas are 5/4/4 and opponents level are 40/38/40
I have enough gold horseshoes to upgrade last arena and im 80 short of having all 3 arenas at 5/5/5, im using build slot for island at moment so haven't bothered upgrading last arenas yet.
strange thing was that i wasnt winning anything until all training was at 10/10/10 then i started to win more often...work that out....most of the time i forget about horses these days but when i do plat i usually win i every second go but im so bored with horses that i dont bother much

So once we can compete with each other, will we win anything besides golden horseshoes? Without some other prize what is the point. I do the island to get shells, so I can grow fruit, so the ship will give me horseshoes, so I can play with the stupid little pony. Reward - golden horseshoes.

What does any of this do for my farm except suck the cash? Like a vacuum stuck on high speed.

getting bored here also, doing the island for the first time guarenteed i wont be doing it again its a money pit,
the horse ranch well thats a horse shoe pit :), didnt know about maxing out at level 10 till i read this so im up to level 9 not much to rush for, the game in general is ok i guess, but too expensive on resources especially on the island,i dont think the cost of getting the shells for get the seeds to get the horse shoes to train the horses has been thought out very well, its like they just went make it that much, the cost of training the horses has to be reduced i was shocked to see how many horse shoes it took to up level my horse and yep getting bored here too

Yes I agree. I have trained my horse up to it's maximum (10 10 10) and still loose when I compete, even when the opposition is only at level 7. How are you supposed to upgrade your training area when you can't win a race? And you need like 240 shoes to even do the upgrade.

I am kinda bored with the horses due to the annoyance that it takes a lot a horseshoes to start training, then it takes 4 hrs for training to be completed. Then, if you want to skip it, you pay 1,200 gold. that is something i just dont have:(

Yes!!! All my training is done. Now I race every day and lose. What's the sense? After all the trainning, I can't build anything else, lose all 3 races every 3 hours!!! This makes no sense!!!!!!
