Island Farm Minimum Harvesting

I created a guide for the island farm, not to complete it but as a guide for anyone that wants to try it out and help them have enough shells for seeds to do a loadout of the ship hopefully until next time the island is back
The island farm

The following are my suggestions

• have enough houses to support your farm
• have around 5 fields initially
• make the bank level 4 or 5
• build a windmill and silo
• you will not be able to use all your grapes or oranges in the windmill so sell off excess
• continuously produce feed for lemur and peacock so they can produce dung
• build a lemur pen and peacock pen
• have ttl 6 large palm tree decos and 4 small decos
• when your dung has reached 20,000 or a little more build the silo and tear down the windmill
• after that, when your feed for the lemur and peacock is gone, tear down the lemur and peacock coops
• then build mango orchards and start the drinks requiring oranges and mangos
• do not worry about demolishing the buildings because you will get more money from production, just do it to the end
• last thing, constantly get greenhouse seeds in the following number
• Normal seeds 150 each
o Lime, grapefruit, pineapple, melon
• Special seeds
o 35 lime & 10 grapefruit[/CENTER]
• Some last thoughts
o Make sure you have your greenhouse humus machine maxed as far as you can, that way the seeds will last
o With the ship make sure you are using the absolute minimum so you seeds will last
o This is the end of the 3rd week after the island farm is gone and I still have at least 2/3 of all my seeds (around 75 to 100)

This guide is not step by step but as a general guide, I hope it helps those that want to do the absolute minimum required

Doing it my way i accumulated over 6 million seashells

How much farm dollars did you use everyday? Thanks.

To keep the ship going 3 times/day, minimum fruits.

    The ship wants (minimum,avarage) Lime:245, Pineapple:195, Grapes:175 and Melon:135.
To fill the ship 6 weeks, 3 times/day, 2 loads gives a total of 252 loads.
This gives an avarage of 63 loads for each type of fruit. (This is actually pretty spot on).
To grow fruits for this loads and assuming the size of the loads are correct, you need the following number of seeds: Lime:772, Grape 381 , Pine 232 and Melon 117. Value in shells: 4.3 mln.

To obtain this number of shells you do need to finish chapter 2, task 2 and make 3 extra Slush.
Completing these task and selling the drinks, peacocks and grapes gives you 4.4 mln shells.

    You need:
9 Plots land in total,3 houses lvl 2,2 Fields lvl 2,2 Deco 'small palmtree' + the free palmtree and the free oasis.
Bank level 3,main building lvl 2, silo lvl 1,mill lvl 1,2 peacock lvl 1 and 1 mango lvl 2
Composter lvl 1, just to complete chapter 1, task 3. After finishing, demolish.

    Happyness -78 production costs.

Total costs (Buiding, plots and production): 4.4 mln dollar (farmdollar).

    This gives you about farmdollar:shells = 1:1.

if i look at my cost i spent around 15 million dollars, that is an acceptable amount

If you talk about the minimum the difference between 4.4 mln and 15 mln is pretty steep and a huge amount of dollars if you are a growing player.

What a good walk-through! Love it. Just that - I don't have that humus machine. I lack a lot of tool boxes in order to build it. But this is still a great guide. Just wish I've known about this thread before starting on the Island. lol

As from the very beginning I always bought special tropical seeds only. It costs well-nigh the same as normal tropical seeds but gives you far more revenue (in terms of numbers and time savings)!!
I never ever bought/buy normal tropical seeds. ;)

Interesting. Just that... HOw do I get to another server and how to look at your farm??? Maybe a stupid question, but I actually don't have a clue.

To get to another server, you need to make an account there.
Or you can ask someone on US1 server to post a screenshot the forums.
To make an account on another server, check the bottom part of your login screen. There will be a flag and the name of your current server. To go to us1 server, click the flag and choose the United States flag. And then you choose the United States 1 server. :D

Thanks Rhyme4. I guess that means another farm. lol That would be too much for me to handle. I have enough with one account and one farm. :p
So I hope to see a screen shot here in the thread. Would be absolutely fantastic.

There is no difference in yield between normal and special seeds, when you look at the price in shells.
So the number of shells required to keep the ship going for 6 weeks does not change a bit.

A suggestion, You do not need to maintain a farm in the other server, just do the basic minimum for startup. As long as you log into it about 1 time per month you can have the farm indefinitely and look at other farms in the us server
I just created a farm using my screen name on your server, took me less than 3 minutes to do.

I have just been growing oranges mainly, with some peanuts and then grapes overnight. I have ten plots of land, six fields level 2, two fancy houses level 3 (my only gold purchase aside from land) & upgraded the bank to level 3 (exchange = $150,000 farm dollars for $172,000 island dollars). I have three small palm trees (two free, one bought) and the big palm tree (free) and my production costs are -70%.

I didn't start for a few days after the island was available, but so far I have made about 1.5 million shells just from crops (no orchards or animals) and drinks - I did take advantage of two of Omar's deals that provided mangoes and coconuts. I sold the coconuts and used the mangoes with my oranges to make summer slush in addition to orange fizz.

Oh and I earned the water slide, which was a nice surprise that I'd forgotten about, which I will eventually build on my flower farm. In all I have probably spent just a few million farm dollars so far and about 12,000 gold on Omar's deals, plus whatever the two houses cost to upgrade. But cost-wise it was worth it to me to be able to earn shells and the only additional gold I *might* spend would be if Omar came back with the same deal for coconuts & mangoes. Since I had some mining certificates stockpiled, this round hasn't really cost me much with very scaled-back expectations. :)

I don't buy the normal seeds simply because they need a lot of babysitting (kind of like tending wildflowers). I prefer the special seeds to get the maximum output at one time.

    In addition to post #3,

Total needed 10 plots, added two extra deco's (small palm trees),upgraded fence and gate to lvl 2.
Running costs are -81%,14 days left ,total building time, three days.
Total spend 4.2 mln (farm)dollars, total shells 4.4 mln.

    Note:
Build/upgrade the two lvl 2 fiels first.
Follow the tasks given,NOT the sidetasks
I didnt run grapes during the night but peanuts.
Humus should be saved for book 2/ task1.
Demolish composter after task 'produce 3 humus' is done, then put workers in lvl 2 mango orchard.

this arrangement in the picture is really great.
I gotta say this thread is very interesting honestly specially for very low lvl players, or even for all players for example when they don't feel like doing island, but wanna get some shells for ship,
just as a suggestion btw, if you guys can somehow make a spreadsheet of number of times/things you harvested(orange/peanut/peacock/mango/etc) to reach these mentioned amounts of shells (I mean 6mil or 4.4mil), then it'd be perfect i think.

Orange 131, Grapes 11 (with humus), Peanut 183 (litlle less, forgot how many humus was left).
    Fizz 8, Slush 19.
    Mango 64,Silo 128
    Peacock 131, Mill 131

With the low production costs and the amount of time left, a litlle 'overkill' should not be a problem.

The layout can be used to extend, the unused plots are 50x30, 2 rows 7 wide (house/deco) and 2 rows 8 wide (fields/maki/orchard).

I will be varying from farm to far, this time i did a lot more but i am stilll able to maintain my regular farm during this time, i put in gold barns and increased my storage capacity to 3200, yes they were gold but i have over 6 million dollars in farm cas now, and i have gotten 1.5 mill seashells so far, i have not gotten a lot but have been building and upgrading orchards and fields, also can not work on it as much as in past due to job so i think i am doing fairly good

I have stalled here and there as I went for Chapter 3 (sort of) not realizing I had WAY to little $ to start with. Now, after Chapter 1 I'm taking the Chapter tasks one by one. I'm only adding dollars if really needed and only in smaller portions. I'm on lvl 38 now. I had produces pretty much fertilizers and humus to last for a while. Took me easily through task 1, Chapter 2. I now have to produce more humus and fertilizer to get through task 2. I need more Mango and oranges. I will finish this task with an estimated cost of approx 100.000 $. My bar is still lvl 1, silo and compost lvl 2. Peacock, 5 lvl1. 4 fields lvl2. Mango Orchards 2 at lvl2. IF I make it to produce all those lemurs I believe I have most of the food already made for that. My bank is lvl4 and to me that were not necessary.
I'm no good in making screen shots. I always mess up. LOL

    For those who can't spend 5,000,000 + farm dollars yet;

    I just do the bare minimum;
    1 bank upgrade
    6 fields (5 are level 2)
    3 houses (all level 2)
5 land expansions (I think... it might be 4 or 6)
    1 gate upgrade
    1 fence upgrade

Grow the 2nd cheapest crop (sardines/peanuts) and sell them for 7 dollars each - that's it

I did this last month, and I collected like 2.3 million. I can't remember the exact number.

Growth/production time/Money invested; the oranges are the best way to go but only works if you can come back every 30 mins. The next best is the peanuts.

    No hassle. Simple.

Obviously, you could do better if you could spend 15million. I have yet to even make 5m though, lol too much upgrading I still have to do on my main farms.

My first island experience, I was pretty poor too.  Nixt the lemurs because they cost me more than I could afford to pour into the island farm.  That worked out well for me.  Didn't really level up much on anything.  A couple peacocks provided enough mango fertizlier to make the "fancier drinks" on task days.  Did enjoy the island tho!
