This game is ****

It's a rip-off of farmville. I'm tired of games like this that are clones of other games it's the exact same process. Dude this game will not last as long as farmville. Why? because it's a clone, for starters, secondly it's not as popular. It's either going to die or be so [****] and unbearable that the few who stay will be charged extra just to login. I'm sorry, I probably won't stay.

Played both, left there came here...this game doesn't crash my computer, run ads that take up valuable screen space and cause even more lag and crashing. You can talk to people live in the game. The crops don't wither and die if you have to be gone too long. Much faster to visit friends farms for the daily gifts. Both games have option to spend money to advance faster. It might have some tech issues but not near as many as fv, fv2, or fv con escape..Yep I played all 3 of them. The last most recently and it crashed on my phone and tablet.

Oh didn't really think the ads were an issue. Mainly because I use ad blocker, but I see what you mean about it can crash your browser or phone. But it does have more content, but I guess at later levels it becomes just like this game. Still, I feel sorry for who ever actually pays. Not only is this game online, which can make you lose all your hard work with it just getting their servers erased, but they also, in time, will provide fees to log-in or fees to jump start, which they already have done the last part. I'm not a oracle, but I can certainly predict when a company is being fishy, with farmville at least you know who they are because they tell you right off the bat. But companies like GGS are just into money not progress.

Possibly a rip off but why should I care, I don't. I started playing here and I will quit when I am tired of it. Youi do not have to play if you do not want to

I'd rather pay in farmville. It's unlike this. Not a communist game.

Instead of throwing flyby accusations about the game being communist, why don't you state what they are, i have no problem with criticisim but need to know whay you are saying that. It is just like people saying that thew game is messed up.

Communist: Everyone gets the same chance of winning, that chance being you HAVE to spend to have a decent farm and spend extra having a great farm. People who don't pay are penalized for being unable to pay or unwilling to pay and that results into a "famine", that being less players that play. The game would be successful if it had a "non-member" deal that allows us to have good items that help our farm while the members will obviously have better stuff, instead they went with the communist idea, let everyone who doesn't pay get penalized and let those who do pay have to pay even more for a better than good farm. Technically if you want a game to run you have to privilege the ones who can't or won't pay because that will make them, if they choose, want to pay anyways at a later time. This game just demands that you pay to play, there's really nothing free unless you like to make your farm look like it's a hill billys backyard.

When are you forced to pay to play it? Yes they have ways to get you to pay but you never are forced to. Example, land extensions, I bought all the land extensions at around level 50 i think. But at level 108 they are unlocked for a person not choosing to pay gold. 1 example is decos, gold decos are worth more than regular decos in happiness but if you use enough farm cash you can getr regular decos thru events worth close to it such as waterfall decos, fairy tower, tiki, sphere, asian tower. Another example barns, you can get regular barns that give upo to 2100 happiness when combined with luxury farmhouse, or you can pay for gold barns and get up to 4200 happiness. I can go on listing whyt what you say does not quite prove true. Please give specific examples of ways that you can only use gold to play this game. The only stipulation is that yoiu can not use money to do the same thing. I will agreee that higher levels on some production is gold only or items like the water tower are gold only but is that really a fair argument because they are used to enhance play, not playing the game only

Those are examples of ways you do not need to pay. Granted using gold can help a lot, but in truth, you do not need golds to play this game.

I know things are free. What I'm saying is that the free stuff isn't ever as good as the pay to play stuff. I'd rather play a fair game that at least you pay only a 1 time fee rather than a continuos fee until you get bored of it. I know MMO's are like that but those are 3D games. Thing is, I don't think paying this much in a small game is a good idea. I know farmville is that same thing, but it has A LOT of content compared to this. The idea in farmville is the same thing you buy stuff to get a better farm. But for those who only want to free to play have really cool stuff, especially beginners. But that may be because farmville is bigger. If I sound biased or hypocritical, I'm sorry, just saying what I think about it. But so far I have a farm that looks like a hillbillies backyard like I've stated before.

@joefisher I have to disagree with you...First of all Farmville sux! I tried to play that game but couldn't get anywhere without spending real money (which I never did). I played Big Farm for quite some time before I ever spent any real money. I could still play today without using real money but I chose to support the game that I love. Of course gold buyers have an advantage over non gold buyers....They should because their money is keeping the game going. Non gold buyers are able to receive gold benefits too. For example, you can win gold decos from the wheel of fortune or earn them from the stickerbook achievements.

1.)Thank you GGS for letting non gold buyers have a chance to win/earn some things that could only be bought with gold otherwise.
2.)If you don't like the game you don't have to play.
3.)Seeing that you're only level 8 I can see that you clearly don't know sh1t about this game. ;)

Hm, well the more I'm discussing it the more I'm swaying towards the game, if what your saying is true that means I can get gold even if I don't buy it? Or how does that work.

You can get gold as a daily login bonus on the fourth day and sometimes the fifth day too. As I stated in my previous post you can win gold decos from the wheel of fortune, achievements, etc. There are contest on the forum to win gold & decorations.

Look at my farms...I have many gold decos. However I only actually payed for 2 of them (Jack O' Lantern & Bridge) on my Gourmet farm. ;)

If you have time, read the forum. It is filled with so much helpful info about this game. :)

Its up to you if you like the game or not but I hope you will give it a chance. Maybe at least play for a while until you join a co-op & meet friends then see what you think? I have been playing this game for almost 2 years & have been in the same co-op for over a year. I love the friends I have made here. :)

free gold - level up prize, daily log in bonus every so often, gold certificates (everyone gets 1) others can be won on wheel. A few members of my co-op have never bought gold, and one is lvl 125 and has an amazing farm to see look at klt49 only gold used was gold given in game. I have bought some, but not at first, most was donated to co-op.

Gold decos can be won on wheel, and some were recently part of the prizes on the co-op challenge.

Trust me I played the fv games especially fv2 for sometime both thru fb and thru the website. So I can compare the games. I like this better but that is just me.

Yes at first is is completely frustrating when you don't buy gold and are not in a helpful co-op. Many of us have been there. It takes time to get a strong farm. I doubt I would still be playing if it was easy. The challenge is part of the attraction for me.

Good luck, hope you give it a chance

Perhaps you would be happier with a console, rather than micro transaction computer games. All of these farming games are remakes of Harvest Moon. Get a DS and try that if you don't want to continuously have the game asking for money.

A point to be made of this thread, Joe started this thread making a comparison to communism, then ended up saying he was going to try it. A person has a right to voice his opinion and this is where it can and should be heard, although he obviously never tried playing it or he just made a casual remark which EVERYONE in the forum can see, he finally admitted he may be making a mistake. Hopefullly in the future his posts are of a more constructive nature and not just criticising the game.

I love these kinds of threads, they are a constant reminder of people's tendency to react, rather than think first, then act. Just play the game joefisher. Join a co-op (you'll probably wind up trying more than one in order to find a fit), make some friends, and always remember GGS is a big business and it's going to constantly be trying out enticing methods to get your money. They generally manage to get a small amount of mine each month, but that's because I'm not the most patient of individuals and I make the choice whether or not to indulge my impatience. Plus, GGS has never stolen from me. That other game (you know the one) caught me not looking and wreaked economic havoc that still, as far as I know or care, has not been resolved. This is a pretty good game. Relax, play and enjoy. Whatever you do is your choice.

I have never spent any money and have advanced (with patience) up the ranks to Level 39. I started this Spring and I'm harvesting a lot this Fall. I coordinate planting and harvesting around my work schedule for regular, consistent progress. No, I'm not at an Advanced Level like most gold spenders, but it's been fun developing my farm (for free), competing, and meeting people. I learn new strategies every day. Considering I haven't invested anything (outside of time), I think it's a great game and very entertaining. It does require patience to save money, but you can appreciate advancements more after all that time and energy. I realize it's a microcosm of Marxist economics (law of Value, etc.), and it plays upon our natural impatience, but it's not cheating me of any money or stealing from my account. They advertise a lot but don't force anyone into a deal to stay in the game. It's a great game and I'm thankful to the gold spenders (& technicians) who keep it running
A good thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving: Big Farm :)
