Suggestion: Button to "Send" Ship ☯️

Could you please add some sort of button that allows us to send the ship on its way without it waiting 6 hours for things that we cannot supply.

There are people that cannot supply the new greenhouse products, but their ship will still sit there for 6 hours waiting for them. This means they now have to wait a total of 12 hours between ships instead of 6, which is very unfair imo.

I would love to see that option if we can fill the normal goods but not the island ones but I highly doubt it will ever happen. :(

Of course this will not happen! There is a reason that they put the 6 hours downtime in the game.

Every small inner game or event within BF-game has its own challenge(s) and this 6 hours downtime is the challenge of the ship. Moreover: I can always fill the 4 loads immediately, but do not always have the tropical fruits on stock, so I, for one, am very happy with the 6 hours downtime, in which I can grow the required tropical fruits.

I would also like to have the option to send my ship away when I fill all of the products besides the exotic fruits. I don't want to wait 12 hrs before I get another ship. :S

I have no problem filling my ship, but I agree that for the people who are not up to that challenge, they should be able to send it off immediately after filling what they can. Lower levels are at a disadvantage, and I'm sure they are becoming discouraged. I agree with you, Runs & Jello.

I agree with runs with and with jello rie, Strange brew and jess_d.
12 hours wait is ridiculous now. Most below level 80-ish can not get the new fruits to supply, so put a Depart button please.

@ Jiesta .. I wasn`t suggesting that you couldn`t keep the additional time to fill your ship if you wanted it. I personally have no problem filling mine, but for the lower levels I think its extremely unfair, as they can`t just go & grow some fruit, they have no shells.
I found the ship to be a crucial element to building my farm in the early stages & I agree with Strange Brew that this could discourage a lot of them.

The higher levels do appreciate a challenge, however...many lower levels are feeling defeated on these new elements of the game. This could lead to some leaving the game. This island has really tilted the playing field....it is anything but level!

Being your wingman Jiesta :) I don't want to start an argument but as a level 57 I can no longer fill the ship as with others in my co op. I know the ship is a recent addition and we all managed before it came but it is a shame to almost lose such a beneficial part of the game.
Latten stated it was aimed at lvl 60 plus and I really wish it had only been available to them and going by alot of the comments on the forum I think many agree.

I agree Jello, they should not have opened the island for those below level 60.

    Always a pleasure jello9!
I must agree with you. Actually, I advised all my coop-members not to start the island event under level 85. They know that if they choose anyhow to play it, this is their choise/their risk. I myself began to make more millions of farm-dollars than I could possibly spend as from that level 85. I had over 320 mio when the island event started, so yes I can do this event easily without spending much gold. To be honest: I am still making more farm dollars then I spend, even after 1 week Island event!

I do believe that the whole purpose of this game - how the sequel little games/events are built up within the bigger BF-game are to be matching your level.
First you should make yr main farm strong and stable enough to make a lot of money; only then one should purchase the gourmet-farm, making this one as strong as the main farm and only then purchase the flower-farm, a.s.o.

Look at the theme-events, they are there to teach you that for every level there is an event and you should not play an event before you reached that level and/or do have build up enough skills, farm dollars or goods for it. Otherwise you will jeopardize your 3 permanent farms, which are the most important features carrying everything else in the game!
f.i. I never ever started the Farm Specialist degree of a theme-event, before I was sure I could do it.

This last big event (which is clearly a chain of smaller events all linked together) is obviously mend for the highest level players, who do have so many millions that they can afford playing it. We have all been warned in time before it started, once you read the teasers well, one could have known what to expect.

The lower levels should just have some patience until they reach the moment they can easily play this big event, without jeopardizing their other 3 farms and without bleeding to much farm dollars. They should remember that all the high level players once started and once have been on their level, played this game for over a year now, without the island event, so they had (and took!) the time to build up their farms strong and stable. The island event (and all following links in the chain) is there for them: the highest levels.

If all the challenges would be taken out, just to make things easy for some players - this would take out the very backbone of the whole game!

I do understand how easily one can be lured into playing a new exciting event, and how difficult it is to be patience, and how tempting it is to try out the new updates ….
But: then again: this is the whole strategy of the game: being patient and doing the game step by step, think and rethink every step, check and double check every movement, plan ahead (even if this means you decide not to play an event yet – and this may turn out to be your best decision ever!).

Once you will all be able to play the island event and all sequals, once you will all reach that level; just be patient and try to build up your 3 permanent farms as strong as possible until you do!

    Happy farming!^^

ADDITION: and remember: when you do not unlock the airport, terefore not unlocking the island, your ship will sail after the first 4 loads!!! And you will still be able to gain some horseshoes for the future paddock!

By "downtime" do you mean the waiting period that the ship is there?

I imagine that there are some smaller levels who have underdeveloped farms and therefore don't have enough shells to spend to get as many seeds as they'd need to complete the required greenhouse fruit, even if they slaved away at it for the entire six hours. I can appreciate that knowing you're going to not be able to fill the ship and having it just sitting there would be irritating and demoralizing.

I personally wouldn't mind a "look I can't fill this ship, please go away" button. Of course, you'd still be subject to the 6 hour waiting period for the next ship after that, but I don't see that as problematic.

(That said, there is another mobile farming game upon which the ship seems to be modeled, which has this function. It also has a "help other people fill their ships" function too, where you can ask for help if you can't fill your orders and other people can come in and contribute to your orders. I'm not saying GGS should do this but the "go away ship" button is useful there, and I think would be useful here too.)

i know that this game is about patient & strategy..and i do understand that the island farm is meant for higher level players..but why ggs make the ship also somehow meant for higher levels, while previously it wasnt..i know the rewards are still better than just selling our products directly..but the previous rewards were better..and i didnt have to wait for another 12 hours to fill the ship again..i know that i am complaining too much..i'm sorry.. :D

I was really starting to enjoy the game with the old ship. I made almost $300,000 every 6 hours and looked forward to building up my 3 farms. Now I've spent all my money on the Island Farm and the ships only give me $150 every 12 hours. I stopped spending money on the Island, but I still can't do anything on my main farm because it takes too long to make enough money. If they don't give us lower level players a better way to make money, some of us will lose interest.:(

Why? All todays' very high level players played this game for probably over a year - doing very well and enjoying the game very much WITHOUT the ship and WITHOUT the island event!

Moreover: we were told that the old ship system would only be a temporary one, that the ship would be revamped as soon as the Greenery would be operational. So: we all knew - and maybe we should thank GGS for at least let us enjoy the old ship's system for a short while to make some quick money!

They also had the previous version of Gourmet Farm, more happiness etc. It gave more money than the current one so perhaps there was less need for the ship.

Agree, this is putting me off.

I'm level 75, still levelling up like crazy on the first 3 farms, and after a couple of trips to the bank, realized the island was not for me. I'm not going there any more.

So the effect of the ship was to give me a little taste of what I won't have again for a long time. Ever hear of Tantalus? It's a punishment.

I wouln't mind so much, the 6 hours and all, but now the crops earn me horseshoes. Horseshoes, really?! I don't really want another currency. Dollars and gold, okay. I understand that. But shells and horseshoes?
So my crops earn something I don't want, have no idea what they will be worth, and I'm not playing that game.

The ship can sail without my stuff. Good riddance.

Does this resonate with anyone else?

    Prepare to be shocked...

I have come to like the new ship better than the old ship. For sure, the loading bonus isn't as high, but you do get one for loading just the regular goods, and there's only 4 of them instead of 6, so that's less strain on raw material supply for the bakery and flower shop.

I will reiterate though that it is annoying that the ship sits there for 5 hours and 59 minutes waiting for tropical fruit that I'll not be loading. A 'Cast Off' button that would appear after the regular goods are loaded would be a nice option.

The boat needs the option to depart when first 4 slots are full, or a button to lock the last two slots again when Island event is gone. Here is why:

    • Island event unlocks at level 30, with no warning about future consequences.
    • At my level (35) the boat gives the best return in terms of dollars. Can be sent about 3 times a day.
    • Now island is gone, but my boat still can't leave - I'm losing dollars and exp. Can now only send it once or twice a day.
    • Even if Island was here, at my level I wouldn't have money to finance it and get the goods for boat slots 5 and 6.
    • Hence I need a button to send the boat with 4 slots full and skip waiting for what cannot be provided.

To summarize: I got a so called upgrade in terms of 2 new slots. What good does this upgrade bring to me? Nothing. Just stops my boat from bringing dollars. Upgrade which actually slows my progress down? C'mon people! Start thinking straight and get some logic to the game.

Besides that this concept of last two compartments being unlocked forever without "skip" option in a way "forces" me to play Island every time after i just started Island side tasks, or pay the penalty of stuck boat bringing less dollars and experience for ever. Since the whole island is demolished at the end of the event, leaving this hindering artefact behind it without possibility to opt out is even less logical and more anoying.

i agree it would be nice to be able to send the boat before it is fully loaded. however, I do think it is nice to have the added slots from the island event.

This isn't planned at the time being. The boat will automatically go once it's completed, but until then, you'll have to wait for its departure. Maybe we'll change it at one point, but for now: No, this is intended as is.
