GGS,

Simple words. Perhaps one can take them without anger as none of what we say here really is. We want to make a better game overall and it may be hard to believe, but increase your profits as a result of that. I hope you trust that fact as it really is true.

I have bu one simple question for you to present to the GGS team.....

Is it possible to make a "test" server?

On this server, you can get 25 volunteers from ALL servers ( take a mix of high level and low level, yet highly active alike) and put them on there. Create a "test world" if you will. Run your tests there if you wish. The best of the best as your focus group, as it were. This way you have invaluable REAL STRATEGY form all walks of life strengthening your thought process worldwide. If there is one undeniable fact, you can't test anythign without savvy testers. GGS has MANY within legion who would volunteer. It would make negative impact upon all in the game globally minimized and for FREE. It would be a playground where resets and adjustments would be the norm, not the exception. Known factors and nobody gets upset. A place where that is supposed to happen in hopes to make a better product.

Is that possible? Would you entertain that thought? We are willing to help, are you willing to let us?

I think this is a great idea & I would certainly be willing to test new ideas/features before they're actually added to the game. Testing on live servers & messing with smeone's game is not cool especially when they're paying customers.

This was brought up a while back. Maybe if GGS had listened to the players & created a test server then many of the frustrated players that quit might still be here today. ;)

I'll go one further on this idea.....

Does anybody at GGS even play this game? Each CM from each board create a new name ( so we never know who any of you are, lol) and be the co-op leader. This way you can see first hand the inner workings of how WE work. Learn us. Know us. Profit from us. Share this in a round table. Let's say 12 of you from the GGS roster and once every 10 days you sit down for an hour and talk about what we do. See the issues before they exist. KNOW what to do in order to drive some profit, etc.

    You know the game better.
You get the inside track of what it's like and what makes us work
We get a game we can play without the nonsense

    EVERYBODY wins.

Pssst.... that's called a focus group.

I TOTALLy support this brilliant idea, in fact i play another online game ("TSO" can't tell u much here, google it) that have a "staging" server, where u can create a separated account and test things giving feedback one or 2 months before official release.

It's a shame a big company like GGS didn't thought about that, the 8/10 update on our Italian server has been an huge mistake and for sure they lost player in this experiment...

This is something GGS should have thought about, two years ago? It would have helped several of these problems created lately.

A little bit more optimism, please, farmerjohn? :) Maybe, for once, they will? :) Because it is a very good idea. To go further - that's how things should be done...

Meh.... he is being optimistic. Just trying to keep it light and say the solution's too simple. They don't do simple, lol. I see no harm in the comment.

    For your reading pleasure... I bring you Occum's Razor ;

"when you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better."

    http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/General/occam.html

25 best/random/active people from each server. 12 people from GGS. Divide the number by 12. May the best team win. Regardless, we ALL win. Niiiiiice and simple.

Assuming this will not happen makes one.

Assuming this will happen and assuming they will listen to the feedback and assuming the will act on the feedback makes three.

    touche'

However, Albert Einstein's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results each time.

As I stated in another posted. They tried it this way over and over again without any success ( just doing something and expecting it to provide positive results without any gesture of losing financial ground). They can always go back to "this" if they chose. Trying something new wil only gain them in the process.

Assuming they will listen to feedback or act on it is irrelevant. They will be part of the process and without choice in the matter.

It's still a 50/50 shot, leaning back on Occum's principle. Either it happens, or it does not. Same percentage of chance. We shall wait and see.

This is a great suggestion and I'm glad you started a thread for it - as others have posted here I'm amazed that GGS hasn't done exactly that already.

Since they haven't, and since they are bulling through this forced "test" regardless of the upset they are causing, I have to conclude they really don't care. Occam's Razor, the simplest explanation.

It's probably a decision that was made higher up in development (I only hope the marketing department's heads exploded when they heard about it) and the CMs are being forced to try to mitigate to try to put out the flames... but really, all that does is make the situation that much worse.

What a really simple but excellent idea. Surely this would be better than running the risk of upsetting so many people who genuinely want to continue to play the game. better a solution like this than to lose more and more people who have become frustrated with what should be an enjoyable experience.

I like the idea of a test server, even with way more than 25 people. I might have forwarded this idea earlier at one point, but I'll bring it to attention again.
Keep in mind though, that IF we will do something like this, it will take some time and won't be done in a few weeks ;)

If GGS can create a whole game and many new things in the game, i think it cannot be very hard for GGS to create a test server.
Please, just do it, don't just think about it.
Forget all updates in game for a while an do a test server first. I'm sure that all players will understand if you say that there is not going to be updates before new test server.
Sorry, hard to say in English.....

25 from each server you have. 25 from International, 25 from English, 25 from etc etc etc etc. Even do 50, 100 from each. It doesn't matter. The point is that it would be the place where resets, new elements, rehash of of is all acceptable.

An experimentation ground, if you will. Who better to test your product than those who are constantly working with it, no? Learning curves are minimized and concept to derive profit maximized.

I'm quite certain you can find people from each server to play in sandbox mode. Entertain every crazy thought and explore the what-if of it all. I bet you'd be surprised the good that can come of it.

This is like a lot of others have said a very good idea, yes they should've done it sooner. I mentioned it a few months back as well. And just like Latten said it's not something you wip up in a few weeks, programming is can be such a hassle, but it would be nice to for once hear if they turned down this idea or not, but perhaps that would just state the obvious that GGS don't care as long as people buy gold if they denied this suggestion.
A proper company gaming allows their consumer to speak openly, GGS censor things. And you're breaking your own ToS when nothing wrong has been done. By deleting and censoring comments to your favor just shows how unprofessional you guys are and you are ripping people off their real money by scamming them for as long as you can

of course they wont want to have a test server...they don't want actual players to know what they are thinking or working on or trying out....hevin forbid us players getting any information about things....it goes against everything ggs believes in...they like keeping players in the dark
