The ability to sell excess produce would make a lot of sense to me!

My barns are so full of feed and the only way I can sell my produce is to sell it at a loss. I don't have a production farm and I am producing far more than I can use. My mill has be idle now for several days. I can upgrade one more level and will do that but I see this as a short term fix and I don't see that my problem will be solved. I would like to suggest that we have the ability to sell of feed when our Barns reach capacity.:)
Happy Farming!

I had a similar problem caused by winning way too much feed on the WoF, it put my mill out of action for ages, but if you are experiencing that just from general production, you may need more animals to eat the food faster as a solution. Having a fully upgraded water tower, contributed to how slowly my animals ate through the stockpile. :S

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but I thought by them telling you "you will be selling this at a loss" they mean you are getting money for it, but it would have been more beneficial to you if you had used it. Am I wrong?

Build more chicken coops, they help in missions and projects as well.

Selling for a loss, meaning you could sell the produce being used to make the feed for more money than selling the feed off to begin another cycle. Also, it doesn't take in consideration that XP that is gained.

For my farm, selling "at a loss" is very common. The phrase "at a loss" is very misleading though. I like to keep my mills and silos running because they are valuable sources of XP and collection items for co-op projects. You also get a small amount of farm cash when selling feed or fertilizer "at a loss."

I would not advise selling "at a loss" to farmers who ever have shortages of fertilizer or crops. In those cases, better timing is the answer for starting production.

But, for many players who find that they have a chronic excess of crops, honeydew, and dung, full speed ahead! Claim those rewards from the mills, silos, and mixing plants. What are you going to do with those massive virtual heaps of dung, overflowing barns, and vats upon vats of honeydew anyway?

(In the past, I would have suggested demolishing fields to create a better balance, but any desire to do well in missions requires that everyone has a good number of fields.)

    Happy farming!

I just sell off my cow feed anyway. Here's how to decide what to do:

If you make the feed mainly for the XP (like I do) then just sell the feed. It says you are selling it 'at a loss' but would you rather lose a small amount of dollars through production costs to make the feed or lose out on nearly 200 XP every day? Just think of it as turning dollars into XP.

I run my Mill and Water Mill "At a loss" about 90% of the time. I don't have room for more animals at this time :) My thinking, like several above me, is, yes I am paying farm cash (Costs more to produce than you get when you sell) but I get Experience. That's basically like if Omar said I'll sell you 1 exp for 1000 farm cash (Instead of real money.) All day, everyday.
