Thank you Saya and Elunia, by the time I realized it was only 18,000 shells, it was too late. I already started upgrading my 2nd field. So I am planning to go for it and then destroy one or maybe even 2 fields.

Also, I noticed that the pdf file with all the tasks in page 15 of this thread has been removed. Does any one know what happened?

It works fine for me. But you can always download it from the original site it comes from: https://bigfarmtips.wordpress.com/2013/08/20/spreadsheet-spoilers-and-helpful-information/

It says in the task "produce", what does that mean? It's not the same as start production, but is it the same as "collect" or "harvest". Can I make them ready before finishing previous task? Those tropical stars take so very much everything that I can't affort to make any extra.

And my tip to anyone wanting to finish chapter 3 is, make sure you produce enough mangoes, coconuts and bananas, not just during tasks that ask them, but also in between to be able to make all those tropical stars. And don't waist them by making extra drinks unless you're sure you have extra fruits.

Chapter 3 task 3 - collect/harvest 240 Tropical stars - yes, you can start production previously.

I will not be doing the island again and I wanted to express to GG what I found as the reason.

unless you use the gold purchased homes it is not possible to build the island. The upgrades on these homes are too high (WAY TOO HIGH) especially for an event that will disappear. I did my island with gold purchased homes and upgraded them as well but there is not room for anything and I've had to demolish high level orchards and fields to make room. this is very disappointing.

I can not make room for any decos to increase my level of happiness so I am working the farm at too high of expense costs.

It is not a practical event in my eyes though with some tweaking it was a fun idea.

I know you need money to stay in business but this gold spending event is a little too demanding of the gold needs

good luck on your next try. I AM NOT looking forward to the horses at all. sounds like a reputation competition which again will be won by the players spending the most gold.

think about the players that don't have as much money once in a while? I didn't mind spending money at first on this game but it is becoming too necessary to spend money to play it so the fun is quickly leaving and I fear the Horse event may be the last straw.

good luck goodgames you did have a winner here so sorry your greed is destroying it

    think about it

Could you tell me, how are harvest and collect different?

Also what is task 5 of chapter 3?
    Thank you

I am now in progress of demolishing peacocks + lemurs They not only ate the feed which took a lot of resourses to produce, ate my money money to. Once fertiliser runs out, mangos will go to + the mill. Just grow oranges ,make the fizz Could not keep up,money wise The ornaments did not help, almost taking up 1 plot of land Got 1 sandcastle Happy with that Need a few million before play again Unless it is 60% cheaper to play

    Hello All!
My first post ^^...so is the general consensus that we should demolish everything on our island farm before the event ends to try and get back some money - well seashells. If someone could let me know as I don't have a count down on the island anymore and don't know when it's ending. It is not the same time frame as shell seller.

    Many Thanks!

You finished all 3 Chapters? If not, the countdown is shown on the main step task. If so, it gives you a countdown on the Airport tower. The Shelltrader lasts a few days more so you can trade your shells.

    Hi Farmerjohn!

Thank you for reminding me of the airport timer. Yes, I finished all three, and I am quite poor now :(, but it was a fun challenge. And yes I did use some gold. Would you trade all your shells for the fruit before he leaves? Did you/are you doing the Island? I know many did not and can totally understand as it was a money guzzler. Just wondering if I should try and get anything out of demolishing the island now - thoughts?

    Thanks again!

Yes, I did what I set out to do on the island, which was to finish Chapter 1 and get a sandcastle. All my shells are going for seeds so I can fill the ship and I don't want those huge decos the shelltrader has. I plan to use the last few hours demolishing buildings for the shells. I will also stop production because anything in the process of production when time runs out will be lost. So I'm using these last few days for just generating shells.

There is a mistake with side task rewards. Chapter 3 task 3, coconut orchards are obiously not going to give 1 000 000 shells (then I would really regret tearing one down just a bit too early). It's "just" 150 premium fertilizer. Bananas don't give fertilizer, it's 200 humus.

Is that even possible? Granted I didn't actually build many buildings, but the ones I have offer no shells as a reward for demolition.

That's yet another display bug. You get some shells demolishing.

    Collect 5,000 shells or 5,000,000 shells? :)
If anyone made it through this step, how long does it take to make 5 million shells? roughly? :)

Correction is done in the amount of sea shells. Thanks!

Fully agree. Without gold it cost atleast 120.000.000 dollars. Ones and not any more.

Yes, demolishing everything and selling anything you can in farm management is what everyone has been recommending on the forums. I quit playing the Island a couple of weeks or so ago, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, EVEN FOR JUST ORANGE FIZZ!!!!!!!! I had hoped GGS would make some adjustments, but they did not. I am a Level 59 player (will be 60 very shortly). I just sold everything I could in my farm management screens for the island and also demolished everything I could too. It takes a little time and your building slot to demolish things, so be prepared for that and don't wait for the last minute. I do not think I will play it again because IT IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!

I also have to say that despite never being all gung-ho about the island, it shocked me that I now have to exchange a full load of dollars every single day when I only produce and have stopped upgrading after a week already. To think. It's even more expensive than the negative critics amongst us kept complaining about.

Yes, the game will do it for us. Don't need to exchange anything. :)

Ok ,in a few days the Island farm will reset. Meaning everything will be gone. As I understand the seashells will remain. How about all the produce ( animals, oranges, mangos, coconuts... and what about extra animal feed , dung ,leaves and fertilizer) ?? Do we have to exchange everything that is possible for seashells before time runs out or will the game do that on it's own if we don't ??

The game will do it on it's own. All products and island money will be turned into shells. You will not be compesated for buildings and plots of land, though.

We are not compensated for buildings, land or decorations on the island farm. Your products in storage and any island dollars you have in your bank are the only things that will be converted to shells when the event ends.

    Don't confuse these two things:

    - the game will not automatically compensate you for any buildings
    - you will get shells if you demolish your buildings

Has anyone got any idea how much is the compensation (in shells) for demolishing a) a simple house of level 4 and b) a fine house of level 4. Time is running out & I have to build some kind of strategy in demolishing things for the best results...
