Absent Leader

Our co-op leader seems to be never on. Is there something we can do about it? Can we remove him even though he started the co-op? Can we appoint a new leader without removing the old one?
Any advise would be appreciated

You can't remove him yourself, the only thing you can do is ask him to remove himself or start with al the other members a new coop.

    Good luck!

In addition: or you can ask him/her to pass his/her title of coop-leader to one of the other members or deputies. Ask him/her politely and maybe he/she is willing to do so.
But, if not - see the above post of ikke_Brenda: then -helas- it is not ever possible to remove him/her or take his/her leadership away. The leader can only change this him/herself.
If a leader is absent (never log in again) for over 30 days, then the leadership will autimatically go to the next deputy in line.

To add.. If the cooperative it's self isn't active and you're looking for a more active co-op there are plenty looking for members on the au 1 server and if there are a few of you they may be willing to take more than one person.

Or you could also leave and start your own co-op and take the members who are active with you. Keep in mind though you will loose all progress and only have 5 spots to start with.

    Good Luck!

    And..

In addition to all that is said above: if your coop leader is inactive for 30 days, the leadership will automaticaly move to the highest deputy. Then he is a leader and he can boot the old leader out of the coop.

Officially its 30 days, and then it takes about 2 days to remove the leader and change things for the coop. This is what we experienced in our coop ages ago - so I told the moderators it doesn't take 30 but 32 days in total.
That's why I mentioned "for over 30 days" in my first post nr 3 here above ....

So STILL it takes 32 days not 30. I'm sure you weren't the only person to point that out!

In fact, an orange dot only changes to a red one in 9 days, not 7 :) I think that is where the 2 extra days are added.

you guys realize the leader is probably the founder and spent GOLD to start the coop. I was in one in which the leader never was on so I removed myself and founded another one.

It depends. You have to spend gold for starting the coop, but just a small amount. Once inside a coop, you can spent even larger amounts of gold for researches, buying collection items, donating to coop... So it is very easy to outrun the founder in the gold spend for a coop. It all depends on the specific situation in a coop.

It may be that I am biased because I have spent far more money on my coop but only 1 other person has spent what I did in gold. I still maintain that you should either try to deal with the situation or just get as much as you can back from the coop and form you own coop. I am not meaning to sound callous or cruel but you may not have another choice
