Bakery Suggestion
I know this is just a game, but obesity is a major problem here in North America, and I'd like to be able to create healthy products in my bakery.
As I said, maybe nobody else will agree with me, and that's fine. But if these sort of options could be added to the bakery, I'd be far more motivated to have one.
Comments
And truthfully - none of the items in the recipe require wheat, honey, sugar or butter so I think they are the equivalent of sugar free, fat free, gluten free recipes already.
Factoring in running costs and the difference in selling price of the raw ingredients and the selling prices of apple turnovers I doubt it's anywhere near 100K an hour.
You are right - technically without factoring in my running costs I make approximately 24,560 per hour profit x 10 hours of play (which is normal for me currently) . . . that gives me a profit of 245,600 per day off of the bakery alone. And I still sell plenty of apples and eggs straight during those 10 hours because my barns storage can only hold so much.
Now it seems more like a struggle to have money and fill up the bakery... Seems like i am not getting any money now.
I am starting to think that i should stop playing this game now. It is no more fun.
I complained about profitability on a thread about that in detail so I will stick to a suggestion here because it is something that bugs me. When you have something cooking in the bakery you have no way of checking what yo have in the bakery for eggs, milk, cherries, apples, almonds. It would be nice to have some way to look at the inventory page and see what you have in the barn and in the bakery stored. Then I know if I can sell things for cash if I really need the money for some project more quickly or should upload the item to the bakery.
Though obviously Fruitcake over night, say 9 hours break for sleep, shower, etc, makes you more for those 9 hours than Almond Muffins. Its all about how much time you spend. Though once you don't need to, I see no reason to spend the eggs and apples for the turnovers.
Disclaimer... my math is always overly comprehensive, and thus prone to typos and other careless errors!
Thats woeful! Is this with research? I make more per hour running 7 almond orchards so it seems there's no real motivation for bakery apart from variety and XP.
My co-op leader has not focused on research for the gourmet farm yet still working on the main farm and cooperative menus. And I don't use almonds - I just sell those . . . the two recipes that are my go to are apple turnovers during the day and fruit cakes overnight. I will also throw in an apple pie if I know I am going to be away from computer for a couple hours.
I really liked that idea, obesity is actually a huge problem in a lot of countries not just the states. So trying to just introducing other alternatives then just fast and fat things is a great idea.
Actually, I'm in Canada, which is why my post said "North America," not "United States."
But I'm glad you liked the idea. I still like it too, even though it doesn't seem to be something most people here are interested in.
Wat'cha doin' there, hm? Doin' a little BigFarm, hm? Maybe feeding a few cows. Baking a few pies, hm? Going after a little land expansion maybe, hmmm? Sitting there for a while sedentary, are ya? Gonna find a way to get pretend healthy, hm? *higher and higher pitched voice* All while sitting there when you can be outside getting real health, hm? Not seeing the irony in the problem, hm? A little gluten free and lactose intollerant irony maybe, hm? Maybe..... maybe do some reaaaally nice salads for the donkey's that have no use, hm? hm? Hm?
Ok, I'm not getting through to you, Brian. Enjoy your game. *leaves*
Really?
Then there must be something wrong with my bakery, my farm? (or maybe my calculations?)
I can maximum earns around 13700 dollars netto per hour by on the apple turnovers.
To sdfktgk
I base my earnings as the actual amount that goes into my account - not subtracting out what the ingredients cost because since I stored them in the storage of the bakery that is no longer an option. So one batch of apple turnovers is 175 and are sold at 280 per turnover - making me 49000 for 26 minutes of work - two batches in one hour and I put 98,000 into my account - running costs on my gourmet farm is at -95% so each batch costs me 71 dollars to make so that is less 142 dollars so I actually pocket 97,858 per hour when I am making apple turnovers - a little less than 100,000 per hour.
Ok, that's the explanation on the big difference.
I calculate my earnings this way on the apple turnovers: Sale price for apple turnovers - sales prices for raw materials - running cost = netto income for apple turnovers.
It's true, the raw materials witch are tranferred to the bakery's storage, can not be returned.
But because, if I instead of transferred them to the bakery, and the total price for these raw materials on my farm for one production(183) of the apple turnovers= 44,920.00 dollars, and the sale price for one production(183) = 51,240.00 dollars (with our researchment and my happiness), I want to use netto calcultions, when I calculate what I can earn on the different productions.
Another part of the difference in our incomes is also that you have -95% on your gourmet, where I have -62% on my gourmet.
Never mind, you have your way to calculate your earnings and are happy with that, and I have my way to calculate my earnings and I'm happy with that. - That's the most important.
