Can you know a mission in advance?

s1lvester (NL1)s1lvester (NL1) NL1 Posts: 54
I just started this game so I'm green. Can I know what the subject of a mission is before I start it? I have had several occassions that a mission was useless because I had just started e.g. cabbage while I was requetsed to collect corn in half an hour. No Point because I first had to wait 45 min. for te cabbage to grow before I could start with corn.

No, the point of the new missions is to make it harder for player with an abundance of a crop or animal waiting to get the mission they want and easily win.

Yes, I suppose that's reasoning the other way round but you are right, I was too innocent in my motive, haha! Thanks.

You can't know the mission in advance, but you can PLAN AHEAD!

As awerick say, you can not choose or know what mission you wil join.
There is only 2 different missions to the fields: Wild flowers or corn.
But you can be lucky to get a good start on a mission by saw wild flowers or corn, or maybe some of both on your fileds before you start playing missions.
When your fields are ready to harvest, don't harvest them, but begin playing missions... if you are lucky, you will join a mission with that seed you have ready to harvest on your fields, and now harvest your fields and have a good start on the mission.

The dung missions are hard to win though, because lots of people have stables waiting. They run feed so they have enough feed for later, and when they get a dung mission they harvest all their stables. They can be tricky. For others, keep half your fields on wildflowers and half on corn (preferably special) and your eggs waiting so you will be ready for any mission.

It's correct that it can be hard to win a dung mission, especiality for a little farm.
But remember that, it's not only the placement witch controls how many certificates you win.

Today I with my little new farm on the us server get a 6'th place in a dung mission, but I get 3 certificates for it, what I think is ok for a 6'th place and a small farm as mine.
I think if not I have dung harvest from all my animals in the first harvest, I would only have get 2 or maybe only 1 certificate for that 6'th place.
On my us farm, I have 3 chicken coops, 2 pig sty, 1 cowshed, 1 goat stable and 1 duck coop.

Wait, then what determines the mount of certs you get?

Amount you harvested counts as well. If you get in 6th place with 500 dung you get less certificates than getting in 6th place with 1000 dung for example. And I think there are even more factors that count.

I think number of players involved and how much you harvest as well as which place you win determines how many certs you get. I get more certs when I win first place, even when I have the same amount harvested. And I've noticed that when I'm alone, I don't get much in the way of certs. So I think it's all three factors that do it.

don't ever do a mission when u have cabbage or wheat in the ground.....plan ahead ..ive accidently done that too........lol8|

Why not, King? I mean, if you don't try a mission when you have wheat in the ground, you're not winning anything. On the other hand, if you do and get wildflowers or corn, you're still not winning anything, but there was at least a chance you'd get eggs or dung so you could win something! Which means it's better to try unless the cabbage or wheat is close to finishing and you'd only have to wait a few minutes.

I would like to share something about missions :
Since there are only four missions available hence some tricks can be useful : These are based on practical approach for an active player who plays for many hours

    For Dung :
You can collect dung from cowsheds , they give the most amount , but one can collect only two times a day so why to waste them collecting when you have no dung mission , wait for mission , you have to wait for max 1 or 2 missions and you will get dung. Make use of donkey stables and goat stables in the same way. Same goes for pigsties.

For eggs : not only chicken coup but also make use of duck coup in gourmet farm. Remember to collect only when in mission.

For corn : always prepare one field of special corn with the use of humus. Again same funda give time , wait and you will get good reputation points and certificates.

For wildflower : I can say its your luck only , if you have empty fields and sow them.

    Some important observations :

    * If you are having all 6 players in a mission you will get max rewards for the same quantity compared to when you are with less player or solo.

    * Never sow any crop in the field just before starting of mission , for eg if you sow wheat or cabbage you will get most of the times wild flower or corn at that time , same goes for corn you may get wild flowers , hence wait or few minutes till the mission starts.

These tricks have helped me a lot in gaining points. I was once not in even top 1000 in reputation points rankings , but now I am on 39th position.

I hope this will help all.

Many factors count for getting certificates in missions: the amount you harvest, whether or not you use humus, whether or not you use skip for gold, your level, the levels of your fields and stables, the amount of stables and fields on your farm, the number of players involved in the mission, whether or not you use special seeds.

This is a small sample size but it's my last 20 missions. (wildflower = WF)

WF, corn, WF, egg, dung, egg, WF, corn, WF, dung, dung, corn, WF, corn, egg, WF, dung, egg, corn, corn.

Actually, duck coops give you more dung than a cowshed, especially at maxed level. They're also really good for either dung or egg missions. If I can collect my duck coops during either mission, I'm almost guaranteed first place by a landslide.

Gold skip, levels and humus affect your certificates? That's surprising. Can anyone else confirm this?

Anyway, yesterday I waited through two missions and the first seconds of a third, hoping a dung one would come up so I could harvest my cows and eggs twice before bedtime that night. My first dung mission didn't come up until the fifth or sixth mission I started that day. It was ridiculous. So there's no guarantee of when you'll get your first dung mission of the day.

Using them does increase the amount of product you collect allowing you to collect more items which then gives you more certificates . . . knowing that English is not Jiesta's first language, I believe this is what was meant by that comment.

I try to doi a mission or 2 in the mornings, I have all my dung ready to harvest by that time and have 8 fields ready to harvest 1/2 corn, 1/2 wildflowers using special seeds and humus then harvest like normal, that way I can get a jump on the other players and use no gold

Is it correct that you can't reject a mission but have to wait till it expires before you can ask for an other one? Sometimes with dung I know I can't fulfill it because the time to collect is longer than the time for a mission.

How do you get those special seeds? Can you buy them or only with gold?

Yes, When you have hit the "Seach" button in mission, there no way out.
Since it's impossible to leave a mission, I think "fulfill" is a wrong word to use here, but I understand what you mean, a can not find a better word.
To prepare for that you maybe get a dung mission, you can do that you wait to hit the "search" button, until some of your big stables are ready to harvest(pigs and may also cows, and may some goumet stables to)
Then cross your fingers, and click the "search" button, if you are lucky and get a dung mission, you now can harvest a lot of dung in the first seconds of the mission, and rest of the mission you can get dung from your chickens every 12 minute.

Players level 20 and up, can build a nursery.
In that nursery you can make spec seeds.
Omar's bazar also selling spec seed's, but that will cost you some gold.

You have to build a nursery, which is availabe from level 20 and is found under special buildings.

Then in nursery you can breed special seeds. You do not need gold, but you need water and breeding seeds which drop randomly (like collections). You can buy those with gold or be patient enough to collect them.

You may not be able to come in a winner but if you have chicken coops - you can collect dung at least twice during the mission (sometimes three times if they are ready to harvest). If you don't have enough dung doing this for the mission to accept that you collected, build a couple more coops - they take very little room. This way you at least get some certificates.

I've found that if you collect from three chicken coops at the end of the mission and there isn't time to collect another harvest, it counts and you actually place. Yet if you collect from three chicken coops and there is enough time for another harvest, but you don't get back to the computer in time or just don't harvest, you get nothing and the game tells you you didn't participate enough.

Anyone know what's up with that?
