Using gold in missions

Hello everyone,

The problem is given. People use gold in missions, which means the one not using gold doesn't have any chance against them.
I was hoping for a mission I can collect corn, so I produced special corn seeds with humus to make sure I win this race. I started with 2280 corns, thinking I would be the absolutely first, and continued with harvesting normal corn. Then a guy came, and after 5 minutes he had 7000 corns already.
There is absolutely no way to beat someone using gold in missions.
Anyone else experiencing this problem?
I think the solution would be that you could choose whether you choose a mission where you can spend gold or choose one you can not.
Any opinions?

Agree completely, gold gives an unfair advantage in missions & it is no different to cheating. To make it fair to all level players & to those who do not use gold there should either be a choice in missions to use gold or not, or block the use of gold on everything while doing the mission. If something is not done then it is not fair to many players & they won't bother trying.

In prior posts, GGS said this will eventually even out once they have enough activity on the players to get everyone in the right category. Some people will spend any amount and do anything at their disposal to be #1 because that is important to them. In the meantime, there is nothing you can do about the gold spenders so just join a mission, don't look at the numbers and take whatever certificates you get until this is evened out. It is frustrating right now, I agree.

Hi guys, I don't use gold to push missions. I think it is wastful. Just my opinion. I am a big gold spender too...big suprise, it shouldn't be. You will get the certificates eventually. I know the frustration. But it isn't cheating. I don't like to tell people what to do with their money, its their money. If they want to push missions then that is their choice. It gives them happiness let them do it. You don't have too. I win plenty of missions and get lots of certificates with stratedgy. Keep planting that corn ahead of time. You can still get missions where others have not planned as well as you ahead of time. I do not beat everyone all the time and that is ok with me. I come out with 1 or 2 certificates alot and I'm ok with this. Eventually it all balances itself out. I do not have to be the winner all the time. I can walk away knowing I did my best and got something out of it. To call people cheaters who used gold is unfair as well because they are not. GGS allows this in the game. Take care...

I don't think it's a problem that they use gold in missions.
I think it's a bigger problem they put people from level 60 with people from level 27.
People that are at level 27 can not beat the people from level 60.
I was in a mission just a second ago and one of those people was at level 60 and another person was at level 27 I am at level 34 I think that is not fair to people that are in a lower level then the person at level 60 putting together in a mission.
At first it was people between level 0 and level 10 were put together and so on but now it's a person from level 10 that can be put with someone from level 100.

I hope this can be solved.

Your are so right, this problem was supposed to be solved with the mission update. I am level 147 on the US server. I felt so bad as I found myself in a mission with someone in there level 50's though they did better then me lol. However I shouldn't have been in a mission with someone in their level 50's. So you are absolutely right. GGS said this issue would be resolved and it hasn't been.

I don't play the missions anymore till they solved this problem.
    It's just not fair.
And King I surely agree with you too. You should be able to choose your mission. The old way was better.

I am so sorry but this is/was the worst update they have ever had.

    Thx for your replies.

I have never, and will never, spend gold in a Mission

I have never won a Mission under the new system, except when I was the only one in it :)

But I have still won enough certificate to complete all four levels of the Retro Classic tractor and all four levels of the Earth Breaker

I still have 986 certificates. I haven't built any more because the Tools are holding me up

If you are concerned about your position in the reputation table then I can see why you guys are concerned. But really what does that actually mean?

But if you are concerned about the garage and building the tractors, then really, just relax, you will win enough certificates without spending gold, even against gold spenders

Samty is right, you will eventually get enough certificates. I have 2 farms.1 high level on the US server and another which is level 55 on the www server. I do not use gold to push missions on either server. I do better on the US server because my farm is bigger that is all. I do not even come close to placing 1st on all the missions. I sometimes come in 1st. I come in last ALOT!!! I sometimes come in 1st on my level 55 farm. You need to prepare. Have corn ready, have your dung ready, have your eggs ready, have wildflowers ready. Try to be prepared. This is how you get ahead on the missions. Coming in, being upset because people use their money on gold to push missions in not going to get GGS to stop allowing gold in missions. Sorry to bring this what is bad news to you guys. But the good news is there are a lot of us winning 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st place all the time without using gold. I get enough certificates all the time to build these well worth tractors that are helping my farm. You can do the same thing. But your not going to convince GGS to stop gold pushing in missions, your not going to stop people who push missions with gold either. My advice do your best and eventually you will end up with enough to build these tractor that will do alot for you farms. Take care!

There is a thread over in Suggestions. It's a sticky poll titled "Official Mission Petition" where a conversation like this might be better off. Please don't refer to gold spenders as cheaters and claiming unfair advantage. It is borderline offensive. These so-called cheaters are paying the way, so please keep that in mind next time you want to throw your computer against the nearest wall. If you have the advantage of playing a great game for absolutely free, settle for second and have a great big smile on your face afterwards knowing you did a fantastic job without the use of gold. I have not spent gold in missions since the garage update went through. I just farm my land normally and get a certificate out of it at the end. The certificates are what matter here, and if winning is so important, maybe a small gold investment would be right up your alley. It would be much much easier to invest 10 bucks for a bit of gold for mission use than to come on the forum and berate gold spenders and yell CHEATERS.... and to top it off... suggest that GGS (a business) cut down the use of gold spending in a game that relies on it.

I dunno... it is what it is and that's what we got to work with here. If you cant beat em then join em.

I never using gold in missions.
But anyway I sometimes win a mission, corn and wildflower missions if I use special seeds and humus (sow before I begin playing missions), egg missions if my ducks gives eggs when the mission run, dung mission if I get some dung from the gourmet when the mission is running.
If I don't win by using spec seeds, or get help from my gourmet, then at least I have a high numbered harvest which ofen gives me a 2'nd or 3'rd place where I get more than 1 cert.

Some very well said points here. Using gold is NOT cheating. If it wasn't for the gold users out there we would not have a FREE game to play.

I don't use gold and I win missions quite often. How? Strategy. I don't always win, sometimes my plan backfires in my farming face but that's the nature of the game.

And I don't give two hoots about my RP's. It's all about those certificates baby! Oh and those elusive tools! If only you could win those from missions ;)

Edited to add: Often times when I don't win missions I still get over 15 certs from playing my best, which in my book is fabulous. Someone here said the best thing to do is close that little mission window and just "play against yourself". Best advice I have heard regarding missions.

I don't use Gold in missions. I usually come in 3rd, 4th or 5th.....very seldom do I see the #1 or #2 positions. It doesn't seem to matter, as I still get a few certificates. Participating in missions is an activity to do while waiting for those elusive tools to drops. And, I agree it does help to close the mission window and just "play against yourself"....tried it once and found I had less stress and anxiety during the mission and now I close the window every time. Just go about my farming while the mission is in progress.

I don't use gold and although I used to win more before the machines came out, I still win a lot and get lots of certificates. I'm a good strategist and I join mission after mission, basically playing a numbers game. Eventually it all adds up. I barely spend a couple minutes not in a mission and that's only because the game is looking for one.

I'm level 71, btw. So it's not the gold users you should be mad at, it's everyone with more capabilities than you. We're the one's winning everything. Good news is, once you reach a high level, you can win everything too.

The point of missions is not to come 1st, it is to get as many certs & RP as possible! You will get more rewards for not winning in a high scoring mission than you would for coming 1st in a low scoring mission, so if you don`t want to play against gold users, send them over to me!! ... Hell, I`d be happy to get a 2nd player in most of my missions, I don`t care if they have a gold plated powerhouse tractor pulling a barn full of seaweed, just show up and post a score lol

It's very rare I'm up against players, where it seems like the other players use gold in the mission.
    - ok I'm sure some of them have books, which also is a kind of gold use in missions.

But it's very ofen (nearly always) seems like my opponents using nice strategies like powerhouse, special seed whith humus and so on.

When you not get the 1'st place, see it from the bright side: The more your opponent's harvest, the more certificates do you win, because the number of certs the players in a mission win raising the more all the playrs are harvesting total together.
    - I have several times try to get more certs in a 2'nd or 3'rd place than I can get as th winner in a solo mission (Or a mission where the opponents harvest nothing).

Also remember this: Nobody can win every mission they are playing, even gold users sometimes meet another gold user.

If I see someone has clearly sped up 4 duckiepools in an egg mission, I might mutter 'stupid golder' to myself, but that's all.

If it's someone I know very well, I might even say it in a mail, WITH a smiley face to show I'm only joking. But I only do that with people I know well enough to be sure they know I'm only joking.

Hold up your animals till you get a poop mission, hold up the duckies till an egg mission, plant special flowers with humus and pray you don't get a corn mission.
Or just keep missioning all day and be content with a constant accumulation of small amounts of certs.

And ofcoooouuurse it will always happen that as soon as you plant cabbage and hope for an egg mission, you get wildflowers, but that's just Murphy's law for BigFarm :p

I totally agree that missions should be split between Gold users and non gold users as that would even the playing field. But that will not solve the main problem which is many people view this as a competition game and not as a building game which it is. If I do not come in first in a mission I am still happy with the certificates and reputation I receive. I am in no hurry to max my farms, island, stables, horses and whatever else the game comes up with. But one thing you must realize is this game was created in Europe and Europeans know Americans hate to lose. With that knowledge they are laughing all the way to the bank, as they should be. Still the best farm game I ever played.

I am not too concerned with the use of gold in missions. It is allowed & how each player uses their gold is their choice just as it is my choice to save the gold for other things. I am more concerned with the level discrepancy in missions. I am a level 85 & I can't remember the last time that I was NOT the lowest level farm in my twice daily missions. Is this just bad luck or is there a strategy behind this madness. I do win my fair share because I plan ahead but it would be so nice....just once....to be the high level farm in a mission instead of being up against all heavyweights....... :)

You are paired dependig on your preformance. So if you wish to play with lower levels, just fail some mission (collect minimal amout or nothing) so that computer puts you in a lower category
