    McFeisty,

no one, not even the game is going to criticize you for not doing well during a mission, unless you find that assigning a rank in accordance to ones result in a mission is criticism. :)

Don't forget, you will always get a reward if you manage to squeeze in at least a tiny amount of harvests of the good the mission asks you to collect. :D
Sorry - I beg to differ. The games does criticise you if you do not manage a single harvest. And it is extremely difficult to plant and harvest anything in 30 minutes if your cabbage is still 38 mins from harvest.
I've screen captured the criticism I received in-game from a corn mission I was unable to harvest corn for, since I had just started cabbage.

Last time I did that nannsi I had 4 egg and dung missions and my special flower and corn sat there for about 2 hours. Its almost as if the game deliberately chooses missions you are not ready for and then your feed stocks are ruined because of it.

The more I play missions, the more this seems likely. It's like the mini-tasks on the sidebar. Once you finish one, the new task is more than likely something you just harvested.

What possible strategy could you possibly come up with other than gold spending/skipping?

I would like the answer to this questions as well since each mission is only 30 minutes.

They need more than 4 missions

I like the 4 missions because I can do any of them within 30 minutes. It's more reasonable that way. I don't want more missions!

Me, too - I like the missions! You can easely prepare for it and although in the beginning I had to compete with gold-players, as from my 4th mission I competed with more equal competitors and even won some. The missions are not that easy anymore, they need good strategy in preparing for them - I like the challenge!

Indeed they do, with the old system i can rotate between corn, cabbage, pig, dung, chickens. Now if i do 6 hours of mission straight. My pig will starve ... plus the reward system doesn't make any sense. I though 1+1=2, but turn out it is 0

This is completely untrue. I have made a tiny number of harvests in wildflower missions and received the not active comment 3 times now and hence no reward even though I planted somethiing I did not want to plant.

Please could you clarify exactly what you mean by tiny.

    Thank you

Runnerkim is right on spot, same thing has happened to me twice, harvested a small amount of wildflowers, and got no reward :(

Runnerkim2, bøffe, could you both please tell me roughly how much you harvested?

I can't give you exact numbers on this, unfortunately, but I've seen reports of players having collected more than 250 wildflowers and still being marked as inactive. This is definitely wrong. :(

I just had a dung mission and had 400 units ready to harvest. Harvested 20 seconds into the mission and they didn't show up at all. Obviously I lost the mission.

    Hi Nafaru :)
I'm not absolutely sure but I think it was 125 ( 5 fields harvested once :))

I am liking the new missions. So far I have always been grouped with players of around about the same level as me. As for not being able to choose the mission - a bit of fore thought all that is needed.

I plant corn continuously anyway, but say 10 minutes before pigs or cows are ready I will always search for a mission - If it's my lucky day I might get a dung one, but if I don't never mind it can only be an egg, corn or flowers one. By the time its found me a mission my corn is ready - if its not a corn mission I get flowers and they only take 2 mins to grow. If its eggs, no biggie either, they go continuously also.

So its doesn't matter what mission I get, something is always ready within the timeframe, and hey, if I don't win the mission I still get something.

I have come across one hard out gold user - no skin off my nose if they want to waste gold on a mission, I still came away with something anyway.

For the most part I have played against players who are NOT using gold, so I suspect those gold users are now at the top of the leader board competing against each other.

I'm currently number one on the leaderboard for the week and I can assure you that I didn't use gold to get there. The reason I bring this up isn't to brag (although my name looks good up there lol) but to say that the player matching system is a joke. The assumption many people have in regards to the top ranked players facing each other in missions is wrong.

I was put in a mission against a level 44 yesterday, I felt bad competing with this player since they only had 3 chicken coops compared to my 12.....how is that a fair match up? Don't get me wrong, there are some high gold users with me in the top 10 and i'd rather not compete against them but if a level 44 is the alternative i'd rather not play the mission. Its like taking candy from a baby.

Same here, at least 5 fields wasn't a "tiny enough" amount a few times.

I have been saving screenshots. Thought I would share in another thread. Check it out.

I totally agree with all you said!! I also like the new missions, and it is just a bit of thinking ahead to get one started. As long as we do as you stated...the most important benefit is always there to be had. And that is the Certificates. The missions are only 30 minutes, so growing for that period of time is a breeze:))
I do quite well, and without the use of gold!!

I've just started a mission in which there is only one competitor - me! How have I managed to do a mission on my own? Is this a bug? Not that I'm complaining mind you - I win by default. :)

This has happened on two different servers in the last few minutes BTW.

Rusty, it happens a lot, I have been playing a lot of missions and it's rare for me to be in a full group. Most times it's 1-4 people in a mission.

    Current mission....

This is not a bug, like nafaru stated in the official announcements: if there are no suitable opponents you will be alone in a mission and the rewards will be lowered a bit.

I think so, yeah. They've found and removed at least one tiny thing that could have caused this issue. :)

Reputation points - right now - just determine your position in the mission ranking. :)

Will this soon change? There was a promise that these reputation points would give us extra benefits with the garage or so - but when will that start? I think it's time that we get some more rewards for our efforts in the missions! Apart from that, I do like the new mission system, and feel able to compete, even with players of a much higher level, and without using gold - It only takes a lot of time and effort, for little reward right now...

I like the new missions, just have fields empty or with some corn or flowers about ready, and stys ready before choosing to start a mission. Has worked out well for me.

No, you get benefits for the certificates you win, not the reputation points!

(which, coincidentially, dropped from about 111.000 to about 30.000 overnight for me at one point ... been "playing" missions constantly and there wasn't a week between and that was more than a ten percent drop, people).
