Individual Mission (IM) changes coming April14th

I just read the OA re: IM changes. My response is, "WHAT!?!?!?!"

Players will no longer be able to choose what misson to enter, but rather will be randomly assigned to a mission (corn, egg, dung, wildflower) once s/he has decided to do one. How does this help anyone?
The purpose of signing-up/pre-reigistering for a mission is to plan ahead. If a player selects a "Harvest Wheat" IM, then s/he will plant wheat, use hummus and have things ready to go at the IM start time. How can a player plan for a IM if they don't know what IM they will be in? In the new system, it is entirely possible that a player could be put in an IM for which they have none of the required product ready for harvest (i.e. The player planted corn but gets put in the wildflower IM). It sounds like a lottery, rather than a game of strategy.

Overall, the randomness of IMs is a very BAD idea.

Yeah the randomness is one of the parts that has me worried, but my plan is to just start a mission in the mornings before I harvest anything, in case I have a Harvest Dung Mission, and then what ever one I get I will go from there.

Still haven't decided if I like this Update or not, am waiting for the Update to test it out and then I will decide.

Another thing that is changing immensely is that players won't be signing-up hours in advance. The new system will be much more dynamic in that the mission will start within 5 minutes of the player choosing to enter.

I think that's pretty much the point.

I've always thought it might be interesting to randomize missions, because it will mean that "specialists" will no longer automatically win every mission they enter. Ever find yourself in a milk collecting mission versus someone with 20 cowsheds? I have, and it's demoralizing.

In the new system, people won't be able to do that to the degree they have in the past. Someone who has a lot of stables ready to harvest might enter, hoping for dung collection, and get a wildflower mission instead. They'll just have to do the best they can with it, and try again later.

I think it will be interesting to see how it works out. People who really want to be competitive in missions might be changing their builds to something more balanced, and we might see fewer "specialist" farms going forward.

I was thinking the same thing this is a very good point to make. We have less choices, we cannot prepare. I know these will be 30minute missions so for the wildflowers to be thrown in the mission randomly this makes absolutely no sense because we cannot plant the special wild flower seeds in advance. Unless you just take a chance on the fly and just do it on the up chance that you end up in the wildflower mission? I suppose you can prepare just have wildflowers ready just in case but this is a waste of your wildflower seeds. Have all your dung ready just in case? That can be a real pain too. The other issue I'm sort of having is we have a lot less missions choices. Collect apples, sell apples, collect pigs sell pigs, collect eggs sell eggs ect. I guess they are taking the sell option out because people could just buy with the oodles of cash before making it unfair so i understand. But you know i think of how useless the pigs were before and now they are even more useless. Maybe they will make some projects for those little piggies and they will become useful in the future. Hopefully the missions will be tweaked a bit too. Maybe we will be suprised come Monday morning and the missions will be fun. Who knows. Take care everyone.
