I love this idea. I would love to see an option to trade items with my fellow coop members.

This idea is coming up nearly every month - at least in the German forum, where I usually read. GGS has clearly denied that this will ever happen. The same with the decos that you cannot move from one farm to the other. It is a basic feature of this game that every player has to purchase or earn the items on his own (and spend gold for it).

It has come up a bunch here with the same result. And it makes good sense in this case. Just too many opportunities to do an end-around on the rules if they opened up such a can of worms.

Why can't we use a decoration previously built on one farm on one of our other farms?

It keeps people from using all high decorations on one farm to accomplish a mission or a task and then moving them to the next farm for the next mission or task. They believe that people would use the ability as an unfair advantage (which knowing people in general, they are right).

I would agree with GGS on this topic if items of mine were not going to waste, or being discarded due to a lack of room, storage, etc. I would only make sense to allow a limited amount of transfer to assist other players, if I am earning the items and/or paying for them I should have some level of control. I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way. The game starts to get boring the higher you are, so more CO-OP interaction is a way to keep the game interesting and assist new players. Just my thoughts...

I know it will never happen but:

Definition in The Webster New World Dictionary

COOPERATIVE- owned collectively by members, who SHARE in its BENEFITS.

BENEFITS- ANYTHING contributing to IMPROVEMENT or ADVANTAGE.

    IMPROVEMENT- DECORATIONS

So why can't we share, trade, or sell our extra decorations, to our co-op members. There is nothing we can do to help each other, except the naughty and nice items.
We work together to collect money and do projects and research, but no individual help.
This should also be true with extra things we have, feed, fertilizer, etc.

Why don't they make decor, money or gold available in the gifts and pranks charging gold to do so. That way they will still profit.

Great idea! Might get more people interested in playing in your Co-Op, instead of just hanging out, (if you are trying to help those new players)! And that would give us something to do with the extra decorations that are taking up room in our inventory that you don't want to delete to just get rid of them!

This came up during the holidays. Thought it would be great if we could at the very least gift a little gold to our-co-op friends through gifts and pranks. It fell on deaf ears... We did kinda make the suggestion at the last minute however, so maybe it's not a definitive "no". Next year perhaps?

I know this must have been brought up before, but I'm going to bring it up anyhow :)

We have been having discussions in our coop lately about the desire of having in-game trading between players so that we can better help one another. Many games I and others have played have this feature and we feel that it would be a great reason for the existence of coops in Big Farm. We would also love to see coop banks established so we can put our extra inventory in it so when someone else needs something, they can go to the bank and simply take out something they need...no charges, no lost xp, just a benefit of belonging to the coop. Is anything like this in the works for the near future? Thanks for letting me know so I can let my farmers know :)

    Love,
    Hayseed Lil

This has been requested many times. It will never be implemented, for several reasons:

GGS sells premium feeds and fertilizers for gold. Making such resources available for free, from other members, could reduce those sales and GGS' income.

This is a fairly complex game, and requires a lot of timing and coordination between the various facilities. It would be awfully easy for someone to become reliant on snagging resources from their co-op, and never really develop their own farms to support their own production. That can cause a lot of hard feelings among players, when you have some that donate and donate and donate while others take and take and take. There is already a certain amount of that in many co-ops, where some members contribute much more than others, while they all receive the same benefits.

Players could work together and create highly unbalanced farms. For example, one farm could be set up for max dung and fertilizer production while another generates all of the feed for those stables. Having to deal with farm builds that are all over the map makes it extremely difficult for GGS to, for example, design event requirements that are fair to all players, group players in missions, etc.

And I can just imagine some of the support requests that GGS might see... "player a left our co-op and still owes us 100 chicken feed, so I demand that you take it from their inventory and put it back into our co-op inventory!" Yes, I know that sort of thing sounds far-fetched, but I think many of us would be very surprised by some of the actual support requests they are expected to process.

Lao Tzu - "Give a Man a Fish, Feed Him For a Day. Teach a Man to Fish, Feed Him For a Lifetime"

I think a better approach is for co-op members to support each other in developing farms that operate smoothly and supply all of their own needs independently.

Thx for the insight, Erica. Now I figured GGS would not like for financial reasons....that in of itself I can understand...however, the additional reasons you give make some sense. But, the other games I was referring to are also complex games. They, however, are subscription based...not free, pay as you want or need. Those games didn't make people dependent on the guilds as they were called, but they helped beginners. Those beginners donated too. As for unbalanced farms. I think, judging from posts I've read, many people have unbalanced farms anyway...I know mine is. I am working to balance it though, but it sure would help if I could rely upon my coop friends in the meantime. Remembering the Beatles, "I get by with a little help from my friends..." Just another thought....wouldn't a game that includes even more sociability than Big Farm (which is tops in my opinion) bring better PR and thus more customers?

I am with Hayseed Lil. I think that by allowing trading at least between members of the same cooperative will bring more sociability between those who are not prompt to chat more or even cooperate more with projects, research, etc.
I would love to be able to trade and help the other members of my cooperative.

Thx, Laryam! I never thought about the benefit of having people who don't chat being encouraged to do so via the ability to trade with fellow coop members! To me, as a cooperative leader, that would mean a lot!

It is not only sociability, but also by allowing trading it will encourage players to buy gold in order to then buy the products, decos, etc. and trade them or even given them as gifts to their fellow coop members.

Co-ops do not exist for player benefit. Their purpose is to get players to buy the gold required for the research.

I'd love to be to give more gifts! Tangible gifts! The Naughty and Nice is fine and fun, but I'd love to see more gifts like perhaps a special cake recipe to make in the gourmet kitchen that you can rarely find the ingredients for...or to enhance the cake, for instance, add chocolate chips to the batter which will increase the number of cakes produced, or if we could give people sugar decorations to put on top of a cake to increase the selling price of the cake. Or if we could give someone a special decoration such as a horse and wagon to put on their farm or perhaps a colorful unicorn! The mind gets boggled with the possibilities! The artists would have a field day!

I think that we should be able to use the décor we buy with gold, farm dollars or even win in the events on our other farms. I do not feel we should have to throw them away or use room on our farms that we don't not have to demolish them. Just saying!!!

This is why I don't like buying décor with gold.... in a short while it is going to be collecting dust in the inventory. A blue tractor is something like 5,500 gold, and if you demolish it you only receive 2,250 farm cash. Not even close to worth it. A ton of blue tractors is fun and all, but after a few months playing this game you will be rewarded higher HP décor from events that will replace that tractor. People wonder why I blow gold in missions... I wonder why people blow gold on décor. Missions are more fun while they last.

Many players are on your side, Playa. We all want to use décor we actually buy the way we want to use it. However.... GGS has said time and time again that this will never happen, so therefore.... I will never buy décor with gold again. I suggest that we all just exercise patience. But hey... to each their own.

Those are my feelings as well PlayaCole. It's ridiculous not being able to share these upper end decorations with our others farms when things change or we rearrange. I've been thinking about this for sometime and meaning to come to the forum and suggest it, but thx for getting the ball rolling as i'm sure there are many out there that feel the same way we do.

GGS stated on this that this will never happens. You can easily cheat with this if you just buy a good set of decorations and move it to other farms when you start producing.

Just make sure you buy all the ground and then use the redocarate tool to get the full amount of happiness on all of your farms.

I think that to make the game more realistic we should be able to trade and give resources and other things at least to Cooperative members. That would make the game not only more realistic but also give a happier atmosphere to the game because players would be able to help each other!

This has been brought up many many times to no avail. And justly so, IMO. I busted my butt to get my meager farm where it is today.

Plus, such a feature would open the game up to all sorts of cheating schemes.

amaprincess1 is correct. It would open the door to all sorts of ways to give an unscrupulous person an edge they didn't earn or deserve.

That's too bad that people would take it advantage of it. I was just thinking today that I would like to be able to give things to my co-op members, using them as incentives to get more participation in the projects.

Let me put on my evil face. There! O.K. now, what if a coop leader were to tell a member that they must give him or her an amount of cash, crops, etc. in order to remain in the coop? That would give that leader something unearned, and if done to many players, an edge. That's only one way I can think of. There are probably many ways others can think of to abuse what you suggest. I commend you on wanting to help your friends, but there are those who would misuse it. Sorry! :(
