SURVEY: which decorations do you like?

This is an aesthetic question, born out of the whole "Happiness Removed" update.

Rather than make me want higher level decos, I pretty much gave up on them, because I never liked to see those weird clashing styles and colours on my farm in the first place.

I even planted cheap trees to hide the ugly expensive decorations. How about you? Do you go by usefulness, or are there some you can't bear to have on your farm?

I'm genuinely interested how many people find the higher level and themed decorations pretty, and how many don't!

(Can I do a ticky poll in here?)

I do like most decos, but I also go for a nice lay-out. My workers live in a forest of thickets that ends in the beach. I would not want to replace those thickets by event decos because they provide more happiness. The rest of the farm, wherever is a spot, I just put the best decos I have as much as possible. My fav decos are the unicorn statue, the lava spring, the fairy tale tower and the telescope.

Edit: forgot the stone dragon! It is even the central deco in my signature picture XD That is also my fav.

I haven't played long enough to get many decos. So far I like the Fairy Tale Towers and the Hawaiian Fountain, although I would have designed the fountain to look more like a fountain with lots of Hawaiian flowers surrounding it. I am a theme person also, but so far, I don't have enough nor have I seen enough to truly create a scene. I love the sound of your theme, guys!

    Love,

I would rather the decorations be farm themed, but have to make do with what we have. I don't like fairy tale stuff, and don't like Chinese stuff, on a farm. would rather have watering troughs and cow licks. I just put the highest happiness on the farm also. if I don't care much for them, I try to hide them behind something. the Hawaii stuff works well with the flower farm. the space could be possible with the crop circles and flower garden. I like realistic things. I would like to see authentic farm decorations. to bad the scarecrow and farm decorations are not worth more than any of the other ones.

I have mixed feelings about decos; my fav is the stone dragon with the waterfalls a close second but neither is really suited to the main farm :( they don't look so out of place on the other 2 farms tho :) I used to go for the highest happiness decos but now its more a case of what suits and what I like; i will not be worrying about happy lvl any more. A scarecrow deco would be good and more suited to the farm environment; most of the decos r not unattractive; they just don't "fit" among cows/pigs and the like; the wagon and garden shed are good and more appropriate to have on a farm :)

I did my utmost to build realistic farms and therefore would love to see more authentic farm decorations. No lava springs or stone dragons on my farms! Whenever I can, I hide high level (but ugly) decorations behind tall buildings or other stuff.
I really would care far more for more farm themed decorations than what we have now to choose from.
The "small forest"(I hope I translated this right from the Dutch) from the Camping with Tessa event helped me out a lot and is therefore my favorite decoration!

If it's not farm themed i don't care for it. If i have to use it for happiness points i make every effort to hide it or just flat out don't use it.

Although none of what we say or want is any use - in all threads, people demand more farm-y decos -
I at least find comfort in all of you feeling like me.

(Yes, I also meant that most decorations aren't "ugly" per se, just don't look good on a farm at all - funnily enough esp. the gold-only ones with all the blue bits. I had the former gourmet farm in red-white-striped decorations (frogpond, icecream) which is useless now the restaurant is gone. I might tear down the uglier ones for cash as well now (Hawaii doesn't go well with stone dragons))

Don't be unfair :) Since we started Big Farm, we added a LOT of farm-y decorations that people wanted - the thicket, the campfire (admittedly it's quite exclusive), the scarecrow, more trees, the shed, etc etc. And more will come, promise :)

To be fair, that was before my time and as you say, often quite exclusive. I'm looking forward to being able to get some scarecrows! (not gonna suggest new farm-y stuff, you've read all of them before).

I love the waterfalls, ponds, springs, thickets, Galactic Garden..

    Here's wishing:

    (1) The campfire was made available to all and in $.
    (2) Thickets were available in higher happiness value.
    (3) Galatic garden version in $.

Want to win a hammock from the wheel guy.

Interested to see what new decos they will introduce in the future.

My all time favorite Deco is the Fairy Tale Tower, I think it is just so lovely and the ones that I get give me 74 Happiness. The really I love all the Decos that you can get from finishing an Event because of there great happiness.

I like trees best. All of them. (Well, not so much the big tree; not sure why, though.) I really miss the little tree, but after the happiness update, I will never be able to afford decos just for the look of them again. :( I'm sorry now that I never did reach a point where I could build a bunch of ice cream trucks to complement the stripes on the restaurant... :/

I like jatoda's idea of watering troughs and cow licks. (Do you mean salt blocks there, jatoda? I don't know from cow licks, but we used to have salt blocks out on stakes for our sheep.)

I dislike harsh colours on the farm, so the Hawaiian red flowers on any decorations are annoying. I hate the looks of the tikis, but use them because they are some of the highest happiness values. I guess I go for 'functionality", to get the production costs down, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer high happiness decorations that are more appropriate to the farm environment

The Gourmetfarm is the only farm who has icecream trucks, barbeque areas, and tea gardens.

My flowerfarm has the waterfalls and lots of thickets! The smell of the forest, combined with lakes, fresh waterfalls and a birdhouse.

Mainfarm has camp sites in the backyard with a nice telescope and a treehouse. And lots of farmthemed decorations. I'm still very happy with my tractor. I like the scarecrow and I really hope this one will return:
    Attachment not found.

    From the events I build:
UFO: None, I only like the galactic garden.
Hawaii: None, I only like the hawaiian garden.
Asia: Only the tea gardens. And I like the koi pond.
    - I have an expensive taste I think.. -
Fairytale: Only 1 fairy tale tower and 1 frog prince well - a playarea for children who visit the Restaurant.
Camping: Thickets, camp sites and logs.

I like to have realistic farms, where you actually can live on. I don't care too much about happiness, I only want the deco's to be NEUTRAL.

Yes, the gardens are realy nice. My favorite is galactic garden. And the unicorn. There is more of us with expensive taste.:)
I planed to put tea gardens, sferes and telescopes (when I have enough money) on GF so people can look at the stars at the evening when they come to diner. That doesn't seems like such a good idea now with goats and ducks all around.
Other Hawaii stuff, other then the garden, look out of place except on the FF. I've put the beach on main farm and it just doesn' belong there.
Tree house I realy don't like - it's just ugly.

Wouldn't it be nice if our workers were actually seen using all of these decorations on our farms, especially since so much has been invested in them and their importance? They are there to keep them happy, right? I agree that many of these decorations that are available do not fit the scheme of a main farm, gourmat farm, (I do not know about the flower farm, because i do not have one yet), but my suggestion would be this; Let our workers first off, interact with them, next would be to have more themed deco's available for each different farm, main farm should have different sized tractors, scarecrows, sheds, bird houses, wagons, workers driving a tractor, mowing a lawn, but lawns are not allowed (why not? everyone loves a nicely groomed yard) a harvester, workers milking a cow or picking fruit, collecting eggs in a basket, so many possibilities!!! (please change the color on the big tree, it is quite a downer) Now that the gourmet farm has changed, i suppose the decorations would be much the same, where as before ice cream and bbq and picnic areas were more appropriate. I can picture the flower farm being more geared to statues, and those lovely European mazes would be nice, butterfly gardens, seasonal gardens, flowering trees and vines, curved walkways and so forth. I would like to suggest more ways of our workers being more involved in our farms, maybe actually having some control over them would be nice? Maybe we ourselves could "activate" their downtime, and have them interact with the decorations and see a temporary change in our happiness while they are enjoying their break from working? I could go on and on, but this is just a thought on being a little more involved in the game

What about making something that is animated, like a dust devil or tumble weed? Or flags from different countries blowing in the wind? (Just curious.)

Yes, the normal trees are the nicest, although the big expensive one hides uglier decorations (I dislike the one with the blue treehouse in it most, but that's again my dislike of the garish colours - and as much as I loved my panda bear, I also don't like that tree :) I even left a paddock of unbought land in the middle of one farm because I liked that fake thicket better than the decorations.

Boo, hard question. There are a lot of decorations I like. The haybale, the small tree, the flowerbed and very much the veggie patch with it's bright colours. All small decorations that became redundant.

I love the waterfall and the thickets. Lakes and fairytrees in moderate use.

I'm not too fond of the fairytaletower, I hide it between my houses usually. Princess-squatters :p

I don't really like the blue tractor, although it became a lot better after the resize. I do try to hide it a bit. Not overly fond of the fairy-trees either, but a few together somewhere are a nice touch. I think it's the colour mostly. I love the brighter greens of the thicket and the small tree.
I like the telescope, but I wish they came with another decoration from the orphans soon. I have 3 telescopes on my main now, placed together so they are a telescope park, but I think more would really be too much.

I definitely dislike the treehouse, it just looks so out of proportion. I have one on my farm, hidden in a corner. Also don't like the playground, but I couldn't really hide it.
The poor Panda stares at me like a zombie. If I use them I hide the panda itself.

One of my big favorites is the Hawai fountain. So bright and happy. I like the camping ground as well.

The one I dislike the most is the Alien sphere. I have built only one on my main farm and managed to hide it completely! Not handy when I need to move it, but I do not want to see it!

I'd like more realistic farm deco. Problem is, they did add more farm decor, but the happiness levels are too low. Can't even get myself a scarecrow. I love the thickets, once again, too low in points, but I use them to make things more rustic and farm like and hide things I don't like. But there isn't much realistic about this game. Goats eating feed made out of dandelions? Not where I live. We have dandelion salads, but mostly its a big weed that takes over your yard.

I must be in the minority then, I like the ornamental trees better than the small ones. ^^

On my main farm I mostly have trees, a thicket, a duck pond, a lake, a waterfall, a treehouse, a pile of goods, the shed & the log bridge. I have one frog prince pond (by my houses so they have something nice) and a blue tractor but I won the tractor, I didn't buy it. I did buy the garden pump (by my cowsheds) and the spring. I put up one picnic tree and one barbecue pit, again by my houses for my people to use LOL.

My gourmet farm has the same basic decos with two vegetable patches, a well, a windmill and a koi pond. I did get a bit more whimsical with the bakery area, using my large waterfall, tea garden, seesaw, picnic tree and ice cream truck. I also bought the antique lamppost to seat customers waiting for their baked goods.

My flower farm is the most decorative, with a big playground/outdoor seating area on one side of my shop that has my fairy tale tower, a treehouse, two playground areas, my sandcastle, a fountain, a bird bath, and an ice cream truck. My housing areas have a thicket, duck pond, seesaw, pond with rope lights, garden swing, and lakes. I put the wooden cart by my distilery and a well by my apiary.

While I think many of the other themed/event decos are cute/pretty, I have very particular ideas of what fits my decorating scheme and only use those pieces. So no telescopes, nothing from the UFO event, nothing from the Hawaiian event (which I have only seen once and didn't get a chance to do) and only selected pieces from the other events.
