For now there's just more tease about what the new buildings are going to look like though. D:
Does this mean update day has officially been moved to wednesday and information day to tuesday or is this an exception-week like the egg update one? ^-^

With GGS you never know :P I guessed that they will do the update next week, probably Monday to stay in 'late' March. And then tomorrow or Wednesday they will announce that. There is one more building they need to show us: the bakery. Maybe that one will be announced tomorrow and the date on Wednesday? Don't pin me down on it :D

You're probably right tbh. ;o It'd be a nice surprise to get it this week already but in the end I don't mind these little reveals and it might make the players' happiness higher (lol) if the update has as few bugs as possible. :3

I forget who said it, but I think I remember GG saying they weren't even sure themselves if the update was going to work correctly, so it's better if they do take a little more time to make sure it plugs right in and doesn't short-circuit the entire game. Besides the entire Gourmet and it's research getting a scrub down, they have to make changes in the Flower Shop (and possibly it's research) as well as integrate the new Gourmet Silo and Composter products (with different completion times/costs/amounts) and new animal dung & orchard leaves into the existing Main farm products. Seems like even simple changes cause problems across the server, so something like this goes wrong and we could be looking at a full meltdown. :S

I'm a bit puzzled. If new gourmet farm has its own composter and silo does this mean that I won't be able to use fertilizer or compost from my main farm on the gourmet farm?
Also what if you've upgraded both of these to the max already (on main farm) won't that mean that I'll over produce or will the production on main farm be lowered?

your main farm will produce its own and you wont need to use it on the g farm... you can never have too much dung :)

I was under the impression that the new composter and silo would produce the same products, to be shared in inventory between all the farms. The production cycles will be different, to give more flexibility in production. I don't think production on main farm will be altered.

    Tracey:

They made it sound like the Gourmet versions will be in addition to the ones in the Main, both farms making and sharing the same items. I haven't seen any mention about reducing the current productions, although you never know. I think we are expected to use up Fertilizer faster because of the new Peach Orchards being added in addition to the Almonds, and they probably expect the Humus use to increase as well since the new Gardens will produce the ingredients for the new animal feeds and may have trouble keeping up with Water Mill demands. (Or the extra productions could be for the players that don't make enough to sustain their current production requirements, so this will give them an extra boost, even though that would defeat the purpose of the higher levels on the Main farm.)

I think once this takes place we are all going to have to search every inch of our games to see what has changed and how to adjust our playing styles to match. There may even be (dare I say it) errors that appear that shouldn't be, albeit such a rare occurrence in this game.8|

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. I hope they increase XP on gourmet farm upgrades though. It's hard to get to the next level once you've passed level 70. Hopefully they'll introduce mini quests on the gourmet farm as well as the main one. That would make farm life more interesting!

WHEN WHEN WHEN..... WHY is it so hard for them to nail down a roll out date? Every time I look at upgrading something I have to stop myself.
Every time I start a new batch of almonds, or ice cream I have to wonder if it will get wasted.

Will we at least be able to harvest what ever we have going before buildings vanish?
I can't always surf through countless pages here trying to find what seems like isn't even here.
    WHEN?????

GG. How about NOT announcing changes until your actually ready to roll them out? It would save on SO much discussion, debate, confusion.
  • edited 24.03.2014
Is there any date when the roll out starts,as at the moment I avoid any investment on the gourmet part , even if urgently needed

Not yet, guys. GGS said they want to give the date somewhere this week. I am guessing in 2 days. That means that the update will most probably be next week if not later. I do not expect them to announce on Wednesday that the update will be on Thursday ;)

I agree with you, the rewards for the Gourmet upgrades were so much smaller than the Main farm. And since the land will increase in price, I think the rewards quests for expanding, and upgrading facilities, should be increased as well.

I also think no matter the player XP or current level of completion, all players should have quests for all the facilities that have to be rebuilt, since they are all brand new in some way. The Bakery really isn't the old Bakery nor the Restaurant, the Almonds are a different size with different by-products, the Gardens are a different size with different products, so why not reset the quests, even if it's just a bonus for our troubles.

I'm not saying they won't give the quests for it all, I just haven't heard they will, and since we have to start from level 1 builds, I think we should have those quests as well.

No, Rusty Farmer, actually Latten has stated:

what we're not being told is,where are we suppose to fit decorations on this reworked farm.with now having a silo, watermill, composter, duck pen, donkey's(that serve no purpose other than to sell),even with smaller fields and orchards, wait and see how much room we have left for decorations.running cost will be through the roof.and could we please have a clearer picture of what item's you plan on selling from our inventory,is it everything or just what won't be used anymore?really wish ggs would make updates more informative ,telling your going to sell for us our inventory, isn't telling me much.will you be selling my stock of shortbread crust,so i will have to reproduce it for the peach pies we'll prob. be selling,or will that not be sold. i know we'll have to rebuild a inventory for the new items we'll be selling.but it looks like some ingredients may stay.those are the items i wondering about.

RulerWirehair1- Good point about the running cost will be very high due to us having to start the rebuild of the farm, having to maybe place decos that we have temporary in storage until we get the farm backup. Could we get a an answer as to how this can be fixed temporarily while we are transitioning our farm for those 7 days? Could we also get a list of all the ingredients that will stay in our storage from the gourmet farm? I guess it would be quicker/easier to give us the list that is staying since it would be smaller than what is going to be removed.

Although I am very excited about the new remodel of the gourmet farm, I am quite uneasy that there won't be a lot of issues when it is started. I wish that we could have held the Hawaii off for a week so that we can spend that time working to get our gourmet farm up. As it stands if the changes do happen on Thursday as planned it will interfere with building times, we will have to decide if we want to build the decos from the Hawaii event or start rebuilding on the gourmet farm which we only have 7 days to work with the 50% construction frame. Some of the decos take longer times on each farm, so this will be unfair cause we are battling with build decos which we need for happiness for the workers or start building my gourmet farm.

Will there be any chance tomorrow that we can get a definite that these changes are going forward and could we possible get a cut off time so that we can stop any productions that we have started so that we won't lose any of that work? And this will allow us to take an inventory of what we have in storage and take a screenshot for verification in the event that we don't get credit for what we have in storage. This will be a benefit to us and to you in the event that something goes wrong or get overlooked with the switching out of the products. Maybe you could be generous and add the same amount of items that are be taking out with the new items to give us something to work with. I know you probably won't but can't blame a girl for asking.

I look forward to the revisions of the gourmet farm. Will it still be considered a gourmet farm after this? I know that I will be taking a screenshot of what my gourmet farm once looked like tomorrow just to see the before and after.

Your houses and your decos will remain; your happiness will not change until you change it yourself.

"Update March 27 - The Gourmet Farm Rework" looks pretty definite to me. I've seen updates start as early as 4:30am US Eastern time (9:30am CET), so I'd advise leaving your farm idle the night before, but be prepared for the possibility that the update might not happen until later in the day. Players in earlier timezones will probably be able to harvest overnight goods before the update, and players who are usually actually playing when the updates usually hit will have better empirical data for determining when to stop production.

Montuos- Thank you now I have some idea of what to be making/when to finish it up so that my farm is sitting idle. I can't wait to see how it will all look when it does finally hit the servers. I wonder though if the gourmet changes may have an impact on the other 2 farms while they are removing and adding the new farm. I mean, will we still be able to work on the other farms while this is happening? If so then it will interfere with the event that is going on now, wow we know what/how that has been lately. I am hoeing for the best and that everything goes as planned and we have little or no big bug issues cause I know GGS is just as excited about this change as we are.

I am now making up all of the apple pies and waiting for my marzipan in the bakery so, I am trying to have as little as possible in inventory. But also make a little cash in the process lol.

Thank you again have a great evening.

Nafaru has confirmed that it will probably be between 9 and 11am CET, which will be between 4 and 6am US Eastern. So I'm planning to harvest everything on the gourmet farm before bed tomorrow night, because I can't remember whether either Latten or Nafaru ever said anything about what happens to completed products that haven't been collected, and after what happened with the egg projects running in that update, I'm not sure I'd want to risk it anyway.

Well, no. They take the servers down for major updates like this; you won't be able to do anything at all while the update is happening. For the gourmet farm, your old buildings (except the specified safe ones) will simply be gone when it comes back up, and all the new ones will be in the build menu. GGS has not said whether there will be a level 1 bakery already placed, the way we had the restaurant and shop already there when we bought the farms. For the other farms, it should be just like any other update, where everything in progress runs and completes normally. However, there will be changes in the shop recipes on the flower farm due to the loss of cream and anything else relevant, so I'm thinking it would probably be best to run a product there that has no gourmet farm ingredients (I haven't yet worked my way up to honey cream; it's pasta baskets I'm worrying about here).

I personally don't see any need to empty my inventory, since we do get to keep some of it, and especially since we still don't have a definitive list of what will be sold and what will be kept for the revamped bakery. For me, it's just business as usual until it's time to stop.

Thanks again Montuos the time difference has been a little confusing for me. It would be nice to have a list but I know there are more important things right now so I can wait it out to see. I will just keep on working on the gourmet as usual till them. But I love those apple pies, it just takes so long and so much to get the sugar for the ingredients to make them. But sugar is a nice profit if I have an excess of it so it will help. Thank you again I appreciate your help and insight. Have great evening.

(This said by Latten - Removal of redundant goods
All relevant goods you currently store in your farm management storage will automatically be sold, except for premium goat feed.
This only refers to goods exclusive to the Gourmet Farm, other stored goods are not changed.)

So does this mean we lose our leaves and twigs that are used to feed the goats too?
    Just a bit confused here.

The Gourmet Farm upgrade in my opinion has good and has bad consequences :
-I used gold to upgrade some of my actual buildings, that gold will be lost
-The new buildings arent going to be at the same level has the actual ones that I have.
-These new buildings are gonna start from the beginning
-The good things that i see is that they are cute, new types of production.
With these I want to conclude that once again Iam going to loose money with the way GGS manages business. The GGS once again has found a way to make profit. This is a trick not a treat.
The designers of the new buildings did a great job, congratulations to you guys.
I have to say that iam excited with the upgrade, and to have the new buildings on my farm. And thats where i want to focus my attention, for now, enjoy the beauty.
    Have a great day

The goats are getting new feed which will need to be processed in the water mill so yes, the leaves and twigs that they currently eat now will be going. I'm guessing here, but I would say that the leaves will now go to the composter like they do on the Main farm.

This game has buildings that are upgraded, and different levels mean different income,so they are buildings that are designed for a long run.If I loose my buildings at the level they are now,Iam not progressing in the game.I spent gold in buildings that are going to be demolished.
What i would like to suggest to GGS,is to give me buildings on the same level that i have mine now, plus what they have announced ,that would give some way to go.Starting from level zero, its asking too much.Iam sorry that I have this opinion;when I invest on something in real life i like to know that iam doing a good investment and an investment to give me profit. If in real life i would do an investment to receive some bucks, thats not progression, thats throwing money to the garbage, besides showing that i have a poor way of organizing my goals and projects.Besides seeing that the company that i trusted for my investment is a ghost company, that existed just to get my money.
The buildings are really cute, and after the Happiness novel ,I do need some beauty and lightness to increase my own happiness level. And GGS know all these psycho logic behaviors ,thats why the buildings were shown.
This is my opinion,I need more then just beauty and a new toy to play with.
Iam sorry, for my words, but Iam not happy with the way GGS is doing these upgrades.
    Have a great day.

If you can actually sell leaves and twigs, please tell me how! I wish I could believe they would simply be converted to regular leaves, though; I never have enough of those on two of my farms, and after the happiness update, I've waved bye-bye to the plan of building another orchard on my main farm.
