That's a good question Griffith.
As I read and understand it, we in the future only will have 3 different things to the fields, where we now have 4 different things.
If you are still using products, then keep producing them right up until the last hours before the update. I would advise stopping production then, though, because they have said that in-progress production would be stopped, but they have not yet said whether there would be any reimbursement for in-progress items. I'm assuming there won't be, and I also assume in general that there will be snafus with in-progress processes during updates.
Anything that is in your storage that is no longer needed will be automatically sold, so you will still profit from having a stock regardless of whether it goes or stays.
It's going to be interesting to see how everything fits then, also I'm happy the compost and silo got a new look just for the gourmet farm and that they bothered to change the garden's look too when they probably could have just scaled it down a little bit.
I know we get a bakery but it seems as though the fields will be used to feed the new animals on the farm and I'm guessing the bakery will be simply there to justify the orchards, or will it take the place of the windmill and produce food for the farm animals? To me it seems the farm will become an extension of the main farm, rather than a distinct farm on its own that utilizes some products from the main farm, so therefore it will no longer really qualify as a gourmet farm, which indicates the farm revolves around producing food, as it does now.
I'm guessing things like the marzipan ice-cream, apple pies and Rita's salad will no longer be produced, as these are made using items currently produced in the dairy, and we will no longer have a dairy on the new farm and it seems the gardens will no longer produce the items needed for the salad anyway.
Also, not that it matters to me as my farm name is generic, will people who have named their farm to indicate the restaurant properties of the second farm get a free name change, as the name they originally chose may no longer be appropriate.
I am interested in what the bakery will produce if it is being used for human food rather than for animals, as the options seem a little limited at the moment.
We're getting a water mill, so nope, it (the bakery) will not be producing feed. ^^ It (again the bakery :P ) will be producing dishes that end up in your inventory to sell. I have no clue what kind of dishes though.
not to mention there will be no more dairy or bakery on GF so now the FF will probably not make much $$ either. this is really not a good idea for GGs to do
from vanshaj farm
wow flitterfoot; that is exactly what i was going to ask. good question! hope we get an answer!
Yep. As with fields right now, you need to pay the seeds and hence spend some dollar on starting the production.
Thank you.
Tomatoes and all the other vegetables you had on the gourmet farm before will have to go, yes. But as you can see, they will be replaced with new goods.
My assumption all along has been that the new water mill will mill feed for the ducks, donkeys, and goats - and it looks like the inputs for those feeds will be dandelions, barley, and lambs lettuce.
Did I miss an info post somewhere?
Oh, sorry. I see my post can be read wrongly. I meant it the same way as you. I meant the bakery will be producing dishes that end up in inventory to sell. Thanks for pointing that out!
No problem - I'm glad we got that solved.
Question for our CMs: Is there any way that you could give us the recipe changes for the flower shop necessitated by the gourmet farm rework?
My build queue has been mostly empty since the gourmet farm announcement - because these changes will impact the flow on both of our other farms. I don't want to continue building out the flower farm without this information, and I don't want to make any changes to the main farm until we know more about the cycles on the new gourmet farm, including fertilizer requirements, etc. It's been nearly a month since the changes were announced, nearly a month of waiting so that I can make informed build decisions.
Thank you for any additional information you can release.
- What happens to the Restaurant?
The Restaurant came with the Gourmet Farm, it was not built from scratch. A while back it sounded like we would still have one in which we make items to sell for profits similar to what we currently do, or store them for future sales. But I haven't seen anything lately about it from official GG personnel. And with ALL current Garden items defunct, all but 4 or 5 current recipes (from Main Farm products) cannot be produced.
So to simplify my question above:
- Will the current Restaurant also be destroyed?
- If yes, will there be a replacement Restaurant?
- If yes again, will a level 1 already be in the farm, or must we now build it from scratch as well?
- and, will any old recipes remain, or just new ones?
- and, will a preview of specs be revealed prior to full release like the other buildings so far, possibly including some hints as to any recipes?
If NONE of the old recipes remain, then the Gourmet Research tab in it's entirety will be wiped clean or deleted, not just adjusted.
Note: I guess this new Gourmet Farm will end the debates over which of the current recipes are more profitable.
the gourmetfarm will now produce feed for the new animals ( again if i got it right), and i dont know about recipies and such except some feel it will be more like a pettingzoo, with a few goods and stuff to sell from inventory.
That's why I haven't been upgrading anything there except buying land parcels, I'm just using what I already have.
Attachment not found.
This is a graphic when looking through the button announcement that hints to still using Apples, Cherries and Almonds, along with the new Peaches, in the new Bakery goods. But as someone else recently asked, I wonder what will come of the Pasta Gift Basket and Honey Cream in the Flower Farm, both based on ingredients that don't sound like they will be made in the Gourmet Farm any more? (and the research that goes along with those Flower recipes.)
The revamped bakery will be running in the restaurants place so the potential is there for a similar amount of money to be made via the Gourmet farm as a whole.
The restaurant will be demolished/disappear with the revamp and the new version of the bakery will take it's place. I don't know if it will be already established (level 1) on the farm or if it will have to be built from scratch though.
Where the recipes are concerned, that is information I don't know sorry. I'm expecting that we will have to wait and see when the revamp happens to know.
With the previews, I can only suggest that you keep an eye on the Official Announcements forum sorry.
As for the Gourmet research, the new research will be swapped over one to one. For example, say you've completed the Perfectly Fried Lv 1 research, then the research that is put in it's place will be marked as completed. Any research that is already done and can't be swapped for a new research will see your coop with a full refund in compensation.
Kat.
chickens -> ducks
pigs -> donkeys
cows- -> goats
apples -> peaches
cherries -> almonds
mill -> water mill
silo -> silo
composter -> composter
The only difference remaining is the Bakery.
Do you have a raw model, a success story (the main farm) and you try to copy everything in the second farm? It's not a bad move in theory, but both in the same game? Might get preeety boooooring...
The old version, with 3 different buildings, was nice, it was different. I know is to late now, the changes are coming, like it or not.. but still.. I wonder.. imagination is in short supply at GGS? Do you need any help?
Not guaranteed, since it's not 100% final yet: The gold prices should stay the same, Dollar prices will be cheaper at the beginning and a bit more expensive later on. This is due to the completely different content of the farm, especially when it comes to higher levels. Level requirements for expansions might also change due to that
Don't forget you'll keep all your expansions though.
Maybe... or the expansions may be priced more in line with the main farm
Well if they are being priced more in line with the main farm, then I was very clever. The last main farm plot cost me 30M - which I could hardly save up. The last gourmet plot was 6.something M. So if the price goes up, I am not paying that
Nice! Good to know, and thanks for the heads up! My lower level expansions were pricier on the gourmet farm, but I have a long way to go!
Ohh, in that case check out this table: http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?54650-Levels-and-costs-of-farm-expansions&p=863666&viewfull=1#post863666
It holds all costs for all land expansions and which level they unlock. Personally I find it a little difficult to view, but I am sure you will manage finding out which value means what ^^
Edit: I see there is a bit less updated spreadsheet below that post, so you can open that as well.
Answer is here:
Thanks! That is very helpful.
Yeah the flower farm would be the most expensive. So for the gourmet farm, I would try to buy as many plots as you can for your level and money you have before the update. I'm sorry it is all changing so much
