26,100 apples is 6 harvests for me. The $$$ lost is not a big deal for one day. I like the idea of the extra 4pts. The difficulty level adds a challenge to an otherwise easy event. I am at level 84. Makes the game more interesting. Thanks, GGS!

Does anyone know how many FF for step 6 at the "difficult" level?

Thanks, Montuos. That is not bad compared compared to 1460 for the Imposing Tower.

Not getting any fireflies from fields, pigs, chickens, cows, apples or cherries. Got some from Mill and Silo.

Complete con, how the hell am I supposed to collect 1000 flies when nothing gives anything out - nothing like the promises from post giving details of task?!!!

Fireflies have always been very good in mill (full batches), silo (high batches) and composter (high batches). The numbers in the spreadsheet are true, but very rare. What I usually do is run chicken feed on full batches until my mill breaks down :)

Pecky, basically, you have the option of changing what you're growing at the moment. I'll sometimes alternate between corn and wild flowers but usually stick with corn as much as possible just because I'm milling it constantly for those sorts of tasks. Sometimes changing what you're growing will give you a few more, but the bulk of the fireflies will come from the mill, regardless of what you grow. That, the composter and silo are the main ways to get them fast - but milling corn is the best way to get them as Larino said.

Thanks for the information regarding the higher level requirements folks, now I've eventually got back into the game (a full 24hrs+ lost) I'm halfway through collecting bread crumbs, it looks like the apples are going to be a challenge!

For those that are not so familiar with event strategies, I've temporarily build 2 houses, 1 field, 1 coop and 2 apple orchards. After the event I'll demolish probably all and replace the deco's, it makes a fair difference to getting it completed.....tomorrow I'll think I'll do the maths with a view to adding a third orchard!!!!!

If the 5th step on the hardest level is 26000 apples - i am quitting. I have no chance even if i sit 24/7 and play this game.

It was announced you can complete the quest twice. Does anybody know how? I don't see any buttons to restart.

I finished the apples and onto fireflies ;)

and yes i bought about $4-5 million apples--I spent no more time on that task than any others and could have finished that task last night, but not much else was ready. Apples are a huge part of the game and for this event--I think i might add 2 level 1 orchards to get through the leaves part too.

**Perelopa--Just the opposite, after you finish the event it is finished as it has been before. If you have the +74 deco, the next time the event comes--then you can decide which level to try to complete.

That was not announced, Perelopa :) Where did you read that? You can only complete the event once per time it runs. The only change is that you can now choose the difficulty - provided you have completed the highest difficulty before and have built the decoration on your farm and unlocked in the tower. But even though you choose difficulty, you can only complete the event once this week. The next time it runs you can choose a different difficulty again. And of course you get an exclusive new difficulty setting - again provided you have completed the highest difficulty before and built the deco on your farm and again only once per time it runs :)

    Ok I misunderstood

"once you finish an event on 'high' difficulty setting after the update hits, you will be able to either repeat it in one of the lower difficulties or - if you dare - in the new 'Farm Specialist' difficulty!"

I thought "repeat" means repeat immediately. That would make more sence.

It is a huge difference. But level 90 players tend to have more orchards and much more disposable income than level 50 players.

So far I find all these tasks appropriate to my level 88 farms, and not at all to my level 69 farm. I'd be interested to know what level players are at who are finding the Farm Specialist tasks impossible, and how many of the relevant production buildings you have — or more importantly, don't have!

Ahhhh - now I know where everybody gets that idea. Thanks for telling! ^^

Montous - I am a level 59 no gold player i found the difficult one pretty easy up until now, i have just reached the apple donations and its a HUGGGGGEEE difference to the level played before-hand. seeing as i worked my way up to here and still have three days i was wondering if its any point buying apples???? does anyone have an idea of how many fireflies there are to be collected for this difficult event?? if so please tell me otherwise i quit lol

Yeah, the leaves slowed me down a little since I only had 4 orchards (I'll build the temporaries sooner next time), but otherwise, easy until the apples. It is well worth buying your way out of the apples. It's 50 level 6 orchards' worth of apples (45 for level 7 orchards), so 2 days of harvesting with 4 level 6 orchards. I built 2 temporary orchards, and still bought half of them. To buy all of the apples without growing any, it will take $11,484,000; decide how much you're willing/able to spend and then grow the rest.

It's only 1,680 fireflies, and I'm halfway through them already, so I figure that's going to take most people 2-3 days as usual. Having fully upgraded buildings so you can run bigger batches (and plenty of chickens to keep the silo supplied) helps with that, but I'm doing ok with only level 4 silo and composter. So just keep the mill, silo, and composter running full tilt for fireflies.

1680, you can find that here: http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?99849-Farm-specialist-tasks&p=1131198&viewfull=1#post1131198

My fields are not giving any fireflies. Wheat, corn and flowers - nothing. I'm trying cabbage but it still feels like I'm missing out a bit. My other buildings are fine, just the fields. Would there be a reason for this?

Mostly because firefly drops from fields are random and even more very rare. The best would be the mill, silo and composter. Any other building - I would not count on them :)

    @ Larino
Thank you for the feedback. It's nice to know why. The randomisation thing can be quite irritating, although knowing it is randomised does alleviate the irritation somewhat.

Yeah, you actually get fewer fireflies from fields than from almost anything else. The same holds true for orgami cranes, hibiscus blossoms, and extraterrestrial footprints (the final tasks in other events). When you do get them from fields, I've found it's usually when you wait 30-90 seconds after they ripen before you harvest.

Hmmmmm...enough people usually ask about this that I think a temporary signature addition is called for...

And that it doesn't matter if you are running pigfeed, chicken feed or cowfeed. I have had 2 tasks for cowfeed back to back and they produced a ton of fireflies. Just keep them all running :D I have about 500 more to get :D

That the advice says "You can find fireflies when harvesting and producing on your main farm." is what could be considered misleading. It's both randomised and not with, as you say, the mill, silo, and composter being more reliable sources, however this isn't related in the advice and so there is a level of expectation that isn't met. Either everything should be reliable sources, or everything should be randomised. I understand that it may follow a certain pattern if you've been playing for a while, as I have, but it's still an idiosyncrasy that I find difficult to tolerate.

    Alphabetical--Um OK?
So those of us that have figured this out are not supposed to share it?
    Vastly confused here.

what is up with how hard fireflies are to get i go harvesting things over and over and get none from things that took 12 HOURS or 3 hours for it to be harvested and harvesting my chicken coops i get fireflies once after harvesting my coops 6 or 9 times

MOST of the fireflies come from the silo, mill and feed mill.

the bigger the batch you can make, the better. Doesn't matter what kind of feed you are making either.

I'm just making a comment about my experience of playing the game, about what I feel is an inconsistency. There isn't an issue with talking about it, quite the contrary, I'm grateful that the forum exists so that I can find answers to my questions and work out why things happen the way they do when playing. I'm certainly not the only one who finds the gameplay confusing at times - cariberry being the latest to make a comment about the fields. It's something that bothers me is all.
