why run updates when events are going...is it so we spend gold

why do they do updates when they have an event running..They could have either postponed the event until after update or other way round...do the do this knowing players will be locked out for a period of time so the have to spend gold to complete....i got home last night to do 4 hours on fam before bed and couldnt get in then gave up and went to bed...i lost my overnight long hour crops and couldnt harvest anything for the event.....thats a lot of breadcrumbs i could have got from orchards and fields...
i wonder how much gold im going to need to complete this event....or if its worth spending gold on if they keep doing this

I agree with Lois. But I think instead of forcing us to spend our precious gold, you should at least extend the event 24 hours for everyone! I spent enough gold on this event for parts I was pretty sure I could not complete in time...I can't afford to spend any more because you scheduled an update during the event. Please consider that many of us are on tight fixed incomes! Thank you for considering this as a suggestion!

    Love,

I don't like the idea that we have to buy gold and then spend the gold, costing money to play the game. I also would like a so called farm game that followed a "FARM". No self respecting farmer would have all those decorations sitting on ground that could be farmed. Most restaurants buy their goods from other sources. Yes today they have gardens for fresh veggies if they can, but they don't raise goats and now they want to add donkeys. What can they produce except dung? Maybe the creators of this game need someone raised on a farm to help create a more real farm. Then someone from restaurant management to help create it. Also if they want a Gourmet Farm, perhaps it should raise things like bison, ostrich, alligator, ducks, deer, or other exotic game that is used for meat.
Doing away with the need to continue to buy and spend gold could be done with a banking system, that works on the cash on the game. If the creators feel the need to charge an expense for the game, then collect a small fee each month.

It would have been nice if GGS had stopped the Even clock during the update. We lost a day of play. Also we lost time during the update on our cooperative project.
