Or the other 10 or so discussions? Bottom line is, GGS said that horses aren't going to be considered for a while :)

Well, well. You remember when I briefly talked about our 2014 planning in another thread? No? Doesn't matter, 'cause I won't tell anything anyway.

We may have horses but who knows. Latten likes to tease us.

Horses would probably have as much of a function on a farm as the pigs currently do right now. Unless we had a slaughterhouse/butchery/petting zoo/something to do with the pigs, they don't really do anything more right now than what I imagine horses could do. At least you can sell horses for stud farms and races and stuff, I don't think they're technically as useless as pigs, but I don't see how they don't fit in with a farm theme if horses are farm animals?

    Well said :D

Barney & Maude (two Belgian Horses) pull a plow on our local farm. I think if you have horses you could increase production.. getting in the wheat and such. They can run threshers and all kinds of equipment. Also they poop right where they work!

Camii what a great fifth farm idea, random farm animals with no uses for the other farms. Love it, oh please Ethan consider it...please...please....please.

The zombies are a nice addition as well, and we could go mining in the mine shaft for i don't know, maybe iron, redstone and diamonds? OOOO OOO add some skeletons and maybe a few green things that explode?

Loving the direction that this game could go :)

Personally I'd like a Velociraptor on my abandoned animals farm. And maybe some other dinosaurs... and then it'd just be like Jurassic Park... :D

I hate horses...I guess it would be okay being that they are game horses though. I imagine that to add them is going to requires loads of development, considering that it would also have to involve a new crop for horse feed. It would probably take far to much re-designing of game codes and what-nots to add them into the main farm so I don't see that happening. It seems like it would be a mass breeding ground for game bugs and game malfunction. I could only see horses coming into the picture if and when a forth farm should be introduced. However I would prefer to see sheep rather then horses which would have far more functionality being that they are kept for wool. Thus Big Farm could have wool sales. But, hey with enough time and planning they could use both animals if they ever get to that point. Until then, we may just have to keep dreaming.

Yeah...I'd like to have horse stalls and a few horses to add to my farm. Clydesdale would be my choice if granted such.

I would suggest an additional farm as a dedicated horse stud, for those who want to run horses. BTW there are huge industries built on sport horses - eg. the American Quarter Horse Association. The horses themselves are the product, plus the entertainment of the events. Wouldn't take that much research to figure out, honest ...

I think it might be an idea to raise horses and then perhaps have a rodeo event of some sort. We could buy colts and feed them carrots and raise them to do tricks-like the dog.

There are good and bad points to the horse idea.
Most farming communities have horses around. Most large cities buy horses for their police. Horse-drawn carriages are popular for special events. Amish buy horses for plowing, hauling, riding and pulling buggies.
You could have horses and cows for a cattle ranch (grow beef cattle, would need an extra doghouse for the ranch, would need horses for managing the cattle, could have trail rides . . . ) AAAND . . . just saying . . . They eat horse meat in many countries.

An idea would go with it . . . a sheep ranch, growing sheep for meat, milk (cheese) and wool, and they would need Llamas and a dog as herd-minders.

right. Sounds like a lot of mocking, but horses, unlike dinosaurs, would actually be a good idea. Keep the dinosaurs for a special event like the UFO thing.

No, TweedleDum, not mocking, just good Aussie humour... sorry you don't get it. :)

I agree with you: The horses and sheep ideas are good ones... was just injecting my country's brand of humour into it because I enjoy and love life. Didn't mean to annoy you. Anyway... Happy New Year.

It's a shame pigs can't be made into bacon butties in the restaurant. Though I guess it's sensitivity to those who can't eat pork.

I like the idea...horse are commercial as well as fun..But, if we are space constricted, it doesn't sound like it would work.

Any animal that is not starving will not eat where they do their business. Stallions make manure piles to mark there territory. Plus they only damage property when there are too many horses and not enough land. Thought you might like to know this. I myself have 4 horses and a donkey.

what do you think the place to the southwest of the main farm is if not a riding stables or boarding stables. Don't think it would be for race horses no place for them to really exercise they would need a quarter mile to be able to run but for riding or boarding horses it looks ideal. Any comments?

    Thank you;)

    Hi sophiesomething,

I don't really see how horses would fit into the game as an animal. I guess it could maybe work as a decoration, but it doesn't really work with the theme.

    Regards,
    Ethan

we're wondering the same thing as well!
    CM Malreyn wrote: »
The fact is that we are not going to add every animal that has a loose connection to being on a farm.

    Regards,
    Ethan

You know, like lemurs, peacocks, bars with fizzy drinks. It would be pandomonium. :)
