Fertile fields will be half the size of a normal field. how much more can you produce in one of these fertile fields. How much gold will each fertile field cost?

Hmmm how to word this? The gap between gold and non-gold users has become even greater now thanks to this update. First you introduce the blue barns to give golders more storage and now you introduce mini sized fertile fields for them. How can a non-golder compete with this? Are there any updates coming up that wont focus on trying to get people to buy and spend more gold?

For the record I am a gold buyer and I refuse to fall into the trap of gold spending to get "bonus tokens" or "bonus rewards" when I can easily get these same rewards by buying them directly for a much cheaper price.

Yes, I'd like to know how much gold the Fertile Field will cost and also how much gold for each upgrade level? I hope the price is reasonable.

Re the new personal Prime Time offer for a deco in exchange for buying gold a set number of times within a set amount of time: I think that most people in practice will be buying a similar amount of gold to what they would normally buy, except that they will divide it up into small parcels.... Now, if that is the case, they will be getting a deco but will be either paying more real $ for their gold than they would have done OR they will spend the same amount of real $ that they normally spend but will end up with less gold than normal. Either way, they will be paying for the deco indirectly. My reasoning is due to this: the more gold you buy in ONE hit, the higher the percentage is for the bonus gold you get when you buy it. e.g. spend A$50 in one hit and you get 61,000 gold plus FARM$71,800. If for argument's sake you have to buy gold 5 times to get the deco, then if you spend A$10 x 5 transactions, you only get 11,000 gold x 5 = 55,000 gold total and NO FARM$ bonus. In effect, in this example, you are paying 6,000 gold and Farm$71,800 to buy the deco.

Now I hear some of you say: "Well then, I'd just buy 5 lots of $50 each then. That way, I won't lose anything... then I just won't buy any more gold for a long time." Well, sorry, but you are still losing if you do that because you could have instead bought 1 x A$200 lot which yields 272,000 gold and Farm$360,000, plus 1 x A$50 lot yielding 61,000 gold plus Farm$71,800, or (grab your calculators) a total of 333,000 gold and Farm$431,800 for your A$250. Compared to the totals of 305,000 gold and Farm$359,000 that 5 lots of A$50 yields you, again this shows that your deco is very expensive... 28,000 gold and Farm$72,800 less for the 5 lot deal.

I stress that we don't yet know how many times we have to buy gold to satisfy the requirement, so this is only guess work above, but even if it is only 2 times, then we are still paying indirectly for the deco. Much better value can be obtained from waiting for the 100% P.T. combined with some type of Prime Day. (or maybe they're around the other way... whatever, you know what I mean).

The main advice I can give to everyone is this: Be very careful when you see an offer come up and weigh up whether or not it is the BEST offer you are going to get from GGS. Specifically, weigh it up against the 100% P.T., because double gold can mean you can buy heaps of very high decos if you spend about A$50.

    Hey Hacktred,

production values will be the same as with regular fields, so you produce the same amounts with less space used.

Gold prices for the fertile fields are not final yet, so we cannot announce them right now. :(

    Steffi

this "free strategy game" is becoming less and less free, with less and less strategy... just buy your way to the top, that's the message.. doesn't matter if you can't think of a good strategy, give us your gold and we will settle things for you.

nice work CGS! this is the perfect way to destruction, as seen many times before in other companies... good for you.. we are bored anyway... :(

Let's see, another huge building beside my farm on which I will never click, another thing that can be bought only with gold and that will give advantage to gold users, yet another prime time (nothing new here) and as always a promise of somethnig coming next time for the rest of us.

Is it the 4th Farm? Is it the revamp of the missions, including bringing back a mission with a rep points component requirement in it? Is it the bulldozing of all Blue barns, so that the Sell missions become a bit fairer for non-golders and those of us golders who didn't buy them on principle? Is it to change the shovels to what we wanted in the first place, rather than how they are now? Is it... Oh damn... He's gone *poof* before I got a chance to find out which of these things it is!

this Deco Tower is simply an appeal to greed and envy. CGS wants us to look at a long list of decorations we don't have, because they cost gold, and they want us to get greedy and envy, spend gold and than take pride to have a complete list. of course, those decorations will than sit with even more pride on our farms.. nice customer psychology here, your game design team must be very proud today.
bad thing, thought, some of the decorations are only available to low level player through special offers.. so I guess top level players will always have those black shadows...?

ehhh... another update that focuses on the gold buyers. I buy gold every now and then (maybe once every 6months - maybe) and then that gold is used to buy my pieces of land cause $21 Million for my next bit of land is going to take some saving!
Be nice to have some of these options as a non gold buyer.

It would have to be a pretty impressive mission revamp now since gold buyers will be further advantaged by smaller gold bought fields. That along with blue barns for more storage and library books for higher production will make the competition between gold and non-gold buyers fair.......not! :p

Oh Undertaker when you talk of spades, well, you know sometimes when I have a quickie... I mean project that is quick... well my poor team, if they are at work miss out totally on those pretty gold spades and it takes lots of hugs to get them feeling good about loosing a spade...*sighs...

Its great that GGS keeps improving the game, but, why for the life of me develop fields to Level 7, then after we have finished updating, anxiously awaiting the architect, do we now find out we need not have bothered and we just should have waited for the new mini-fields. That is what thoroughly annoys the ...... out of me.

I'm a gold user, but its not giving me a surprise to grab gold so blatantly off me, in fact it starts to make me feel rather used... I love this game... but...
  • edited 24.01.2014
I am going to show admirable restraint and not make any naughty comment about your reference to a quickie. Kat and Tess will be so proud of me!!

Yes, Pixie, I hear you regarding GGS moving the goal posts after the game has started. Instead, they should have just improved the playing surface and kept it level for all, so that all could benefit. As you say, yet another gold grab. It will never end... Groundhog Day yet again.

I think that GGS should have opened a new server exclusively for all the excessive gold grab content such as architect, blue barns and fertile fields and leave the current servers alone. And they should have given it a new game name such as " Big Gold Farm".

Its particularly reprehensible to offer the architect back then (speed up building time) and now turn around and make the highest level barns and fields redundant. This is a form of abuse and its unacceptable.

They should also have made all these new and pretty decorations available for gold at a set price in the shop on the old servers, not have them as enticements to gamble real money on the spinning wheel, or spend extra money in the shop to get them. In their current iteration they suit "Big Gold Farm".

In other words, what ever we are now playing, its not Big Farm. I find myself logging in less often...

One question... Will the new fields utilize the library books?
  • edited 24.01.2014
I'm sure they would... it's still production of corn, cabbs or wheat, after all.

Big Farm is still very much a free game, and still has plenty of strategy in it. You don't have to spend money, you don't have to buy gold, you don't have to spend gold. Big Farm can be played perfectly fine without needing to buy gold. I have played games before were you can't do anything unless you spend money, Big Farm is not like those games.

You might be bored with the game, but I am certainly not. And as long as the game keeps giving us new stuff, even if that stuff is only for gold players, I am still going to play this game. :D
