    Hey guys! :)

Bella and Topaz are a bit out of their normal routines at the moment. It's been so hot that the air conditioner is even struggling so I've got a lot of the house that doesn't get used through the day closed off. It means that they're having to find other places to sleep and relax in other than where they would normally be. Other than that, they're doing really well! Both are asleep at the moment - Bella on the bed next to me on the desk and Topaz on the floor on the other side of the desk. Don't ask me why the floor, for some reason it seems to be his new favourite spot!

How are all you guys surviving the weather where you are at the moment?

    Hi everyone

I think Miss Kitty is in for a couple of days of nice coolish weather, its what I just had and she seems to get our weather just a day or so after us. It was very enjoyable, unfortunately we are heading into some hot weather again starting from this afternoon. It is going to be a very hot weekend.

Happy Friday everyone and have a nice weekend. :)

Kat....... I don't know how to say this but we are both proud owners of Bella.......... I'll tell you how, 3 months ago I had to give away Leos' brother and sister so Leo was lonely for 2 weeks. I felt bad for him so I went and adopted another kitten. That was 2 months ago. So, the day I got the other Kat we were thinking of a name and my brother just said Bella. I forgot that your cat was also called Bella but I did slightly remember which is why I thought 'Oh Bella is a lovely name.... I wonder where I heard it before :D' So........ Yup, happy Bella owners :)

I'm soooo happy that it's 23c here today and I'm hopeful that it stays that way for a loooooong time too! Tess, you're welcome to keep your icky super hot days. :D

Sera, it sounds awesome. It's been a long time since I've seen massive amounts of hail on the ground. :)

Grey, you're on for that swap, when it gets super hot here again. :)

We are into our heatwave again and its going to be hotter tomorrow than today! That said I really dont like winter much, I would very much enjoy the same temp all year round. Rain at night, sunny during the day. Now that would be perfect.

What to do with a cat that thinks she owns you??

This a cat that the owners moved away and left the cat to take care of her self. My brothers have been feeding her for years. She will not allow them to pick her up, but will allow them to pet her in exchange for food. Both my brothers are away right now.

A month ago I was gone for several days and a neighbor fed her while I was gone. When I come back everything outside was ice. There was no place I could put her food outside where it was protected, so she ended up getting to her food after neighbor cats. After a couple days I was on the computer in the evening and she shows up in my bedroom door. She had never come inside before. I gave her some food then. Now she won't eat unless I give it to her inside. When I am asleep and my leg is in her way she swats at it until I move it.

I will never get her into a pet carrier to take her for a Vet check. She is always very clean and quiet.
BTW my name for her is cat, and she is putting on some weight which she needed. :):)

Mwsjc, sounds like she'll settle in nicely given a bit of time. A tip I have for the travel crates for my cats is that I leave them in a place where they can use them for security and play in them if they want, that way they have good thoughts about them and it's not a huge hassle to get them in there when I need to. Might be worth trying with your lovely little princess. :)

I will try that. I know she has not had been to a Vet in years so I would like to get her checked. My brother came by to pick up some things yesterday morning. She hid some where and would come out until today. I will keep trying with her. :):)

Michael, it just occurred to me (late I know but it's better than never) that it might be a good idea to quickly stop by your local vets or at least phone them and ask if they have any ideas that will help you get her there without completely stressing her out. They might give you some tips on what to look for so that a trip to see them can be postponed for a while until she settles in and builds a bit more trust with you.

I haven't mentioned it in my previous post, but I really admire you for taking her in. Both of my little darlings needed homes too and it's been the best 2 decisions I've made in a long time. :)

What a wonderful person you are. Both my little dogs were rescued dogs. I loved them dearly we lost one last year. But he had several happy years with us that he would not have had. I admire people who take in lost animals and love them.

She seems to be testing the water so to speak. Swatting at your leg to move you, to see how much she can trust you, (will you move or will you swat back). Wont eat unless its inside. (will you force her back into the cold, or will you let her stay) see testing you. She wants to see if you are worthy of her love and trust.

    Thanks Tess! :)
I will try your suggestions. She does have free entrance and exit from the house. So she chooses to come in or stay out.
She does make my laugh with how she does not want any attention until she chooses it.

BTW. I like your little kitty in you avitar Sera! :) (I think might be more of an animal person than you admit to.) :) 8)

Hehe you guys just reminded me of when I adopted Bella (My Bella not Kats :D) She was so thin that you couldv'e easily picked her up with a spoon (I didn't because that would hurt but I knew it was possible) 3 wonderful months later..................................... SHE'S FAT!!! SERIOUSLY, I'M THINKING OF CHANGING HER NAME TO CHUBBY OR POOFY :)

Yes Ezio, it is exciting watching the cat become used to me. Actually I did not adopt the cat, she picked me and she said "I'm here." :)
But since she seems to trust me some I would like to have her checked out by a Vet.

I will try to post a picture this weekend. I need some idea of a name for her. Any suggestions are welcome??? :D:D

Aww you wouldn't name her anything like that Ezio. :p How is little Bella doing now? Is she all settled in and getting along nicely with Leo now?

Michael, what about Poppy; Kachina: Native American name that means “spirit” or maybe Faith. If I think of any more, I'll post them for you. :)
