It's been way too cold outside. -_- I was outside for not even ten minutes today and got frostbite on my face. I wish I could just hybernate for the winter and not come out until April.

How has the weather been where you are?

Fairly unbearable at times. It was 34 degrees C yesterday afternoon and that was at 5pm, with humidity of 78 percent.. That's very oppressive. Having to wear a full suit with tie, vest and jacket doesn't help either... I have to wear that for my work, of course. I can't wait until April either, but for the opposite reason to yours!

It's been a bit all over the place here, but mostly around 20 - 25c mostly. Friday looks like it's going to be a bit of a hot one though so if I don't put on the AC, you might find me in here having a bit of a whinge. :)

Last night was bitter cold: -41F with the windchill! I am worried about my poor little chickens ;( . Their door freezes shut and i have to pry it open with a screwdriver. When I Finally Do get the door open--their poop is frozen. I am knitting a new hat for my husband--more hats, scarves help going outside. I might get brave and try making a sweater--there lots of people to help me out on the internet when i get stuck :)
We are ready for spring and not even half through January8|

in my little corner of Europe - it should be like winter but it's not - rainy, wet and windy.

I'd rather have some spring coming soon - with a lot of sunshine

Yes, the more clothing the better! the poor chickens, hopefully you haven't lost any due to the extreme cold :( My parents have been leaving the dog in the house whenever they have to go anywhere, too cold for him outside. He's been sleeping most of the time anyways. The past few years December has been pretty warm and winter has been coming late. Not this year.

I hope all your chooks are okay Monica. Maybe you can knit them little outfits to help them stay warm. :/

I have made little sweaters LOL. They panic a little when i try to put them on though. I think when we get more chicks, I will have a few sizes so they will get used to wearing them. Jeff built the coop pretty well insulated and I pour hot water over their food. I think they are ok out there. I check on them a few times a day when i go out for more firewood. So cold it makes your skin sting as soon as the outside door is opened. Brrr record breaking bitter cold. ;(

Worst is that the roads are so icy AND now we are out of chocolate ;( OMG

I'm really happy to hear that your chooks are doing okay. I'm thinking that it would be nearly as bad getting an outfit on your chickens as it would be me getting one on my cats - which is something I can assure you I have too much self preservation to even attempt!

I'm really sorry to hear about the lack of chocolate. Hopefully the weather will let up so you'll be able to get some soon. :)

    Oh monica

I am sure your chicks will be so appreciative of the care you have taken for them. I hope you get chocolate very soon.

Monica you're out of CHOCOLATE???? That's a crysis well on it's own! I'm sending a rapid response team armed with chocolate and chicken sweaters :)

In all seriousness...... It's 13C here. That's a lot for someone who is used to 39C on a GOOD day. It's usually 40+ here :D

oh i found some chocolate chips for baking cookies yesterday--i should be ok for a few weeks. :D SHHHHHhhhh it is easy to hide the evidence when i can hide the bag and have a few at a time and then put the wrapper in the bottom of the trash hehe

Today is warm enough i might be able to let them out ;) too early yet though and not on top alert yet to watch for the hawk that sees them as lunch.

That sounds like Toronto. Mid December they had freezing rain which brought trees and power lines down all over the city because the ice was so heavy. Thousands of people were without power for days. It was all over the news. Now I hear they are having rolling blackouts.

It's meant to be 43c here today so I feel your pain just a bit later than you Tess. Besides, we're probably getting your weather - you can have it back!! :p

The rest of the week is due to be a nightmare - lots of very high temperatures. I really feel for all the tennis players in the Australian Open. :(

uff - yesterday we got the first snow for this winter. :(

it's not really below 0 - so it's wet and melting and very slippery.

because of that we now have a lot of fog - really long for spring :)

I do watch the tennis occasionally Sera, though don't know that I will this year - I don't want to watch them slogging it out in really horrible heat that we have here at the moment. :/
