Questions about Library Handbooks

I keep looking for a news item about this in the official announcements board to learn more about it - will the info be put up as this addition gets closer or can anyone say now? I can see we're about to get a library next to our farms and that it seems similar to the cooperative research, but more of a solo thing?

Sounds cool 8) but that little blurb in the game and no thread has me curious.

We'll find out soon enough in the "Official Announcements" page, maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow...

I'm also looking forward to having a library near my farm ^^

I just got a questions from a Dutch player:

Last week she bought the handbook for the apples, which gives her 10 apples extra per harvest. However, they are not counted for a co-op project. Is this supposed to happen and if yes, why? Does anybody have any ideas about this? Experienced it yourself?

If there is already a thread about this, I have no time to look for it, kindly direct me to it with a link please ^^

The extra bonus' are not counted during missions either. So what was the point of the library again if the extra's don't count towards anything?

I know they absolutely do count in the events.
They should add for "Collect" type missions

I don't want to pick a fight, but they absolutely did not count during a produce chicken feed mission. I produce 240 (24) and 200 (20) count toward the mission. They also absolutely do not count to complete farm tasks. I had a produce 80 cow feed. Set the mill to produce 84 and the task only counted 70 (7). Sooo, the question still stands.

What appears to be happening is that they count for 'collect' tasks because you are collecting them. But for 'produce' tasks/missions you are starting a pre book production amount and you collect the extra as a bonus.

I'm sure I saw a post by Latten but can't find it right now

If this is the case, then it is another example of an ill planned update pushed through before it was ready to go. As much as I love this game, it is becoming rather annoying seeing update after update implemented, then having to wait, sometimes months, before they work properly. Dog house, library, Christmas event, achievements, house deconstruction, coop chat/mail inconsistencies, and others I am sure I cant recall. All pushed through and everyone of them has not worked right from the get go. I am beginning to dread updates because of these issues and wondering how badly each one will be implemented. Back to "waiting" for GGS to get the library functioning correctly.

Thanks Samty, I will tell the Dutch player about Latten's comment :) I also think it is not really how it should work, I hope they will change it soon!!

I've invested a lot of gold to get to the 4th level Chicken Handbook to help my co-op in our projects. From what I understand each egg harvest should yield +70 eggs.

However, my level 4 chicken coops are still yielding 247 instead of 317, and my level 5 is yielding 269 instead of 339.

Am I misunderstanding the benefit of this feature? What am I not getting?

This is me editing my original post. It looks like the 'info' box for the chicken coop levels shows the #eggs including the boost. Right?
    I'm easily confused...

Iirc the handbooks do not count for the projects atm :( It is not meant like that and will hopefully be changed soon. Do your chicken coops normally yield the correct amounts, if you do not look at the projects? Because that should be correct.

    Hello everyone,
I have a question maybe someone can answer. I am building the library. So for instance. I may have a task on the side for 100 chicken feed. I have bought say some of the library handbooks and that give me say 2 extra chicken feed every time i produce. But it doesn't count towards my tasks. Is that a glitch or is it supposed to be like that?:) It doesn't count on any of my tasks.
    thanks everyone happy farming!

    Hi rie22

    It depends on the side-task

If the task is begin produce chicken feed - the library-book will not help you.

If the task is collect chicken feed - the library-book will help you.

The extra chicken feed from the library book will be added when you collect, not when you begin produce

Yes How does it work? I bought the hanbook for corns and chikken level 2 - but it did non give me the bonus i think it was ment to do. as I get nothing - have i misunderstood ?

FX: In the dialog box it says: Increases corn production from fields. Subsequent levels increase production futher - corn + 3

My cornfield produces x20 level 3 - it should as I understand produce +3 summed up 23 corns?? or ?

Your buildings produce the normal amount of products, but on harvesting, you get some extra. So if your field normally produces 20, you will have 23 in your storage after harvesting.

This amount is including your +3 bonus; the base amount is 17. You don't get a base of 20 corn until you upgrade to a level 6 field.

    Hi!
How to the library upgrades work?
Say if I buy the level 1 wheat upgrade I get +14 wheat every time I harvest on my base yield, e.g. 70 +14 =84.
If I buy the level 2 upgrade it says +24. Do I get this on the base yield (70+24) or on top of the level 1 upgrade (84+24)?

    Hi

I have a few handbooks and the extra items always count towards tasks and missions but the chicken handbook does not. My mill is top level and therefore makes 220 feed but this only counts as 200 feed for tasks in the game and in missions. Also the XP does not increase from 20 to 22 points.

Can anyone tell me why this handbook does not give the same advantages as the others?

    Thanks

    Kim

Are those tasks and missions about starting the production of chicken feed? Then the mill can only start the feed 20 times (200 feed), because the 20 extra feed is added when you harvest and not when you start the mill. It will not count for 22 starts, only for 220 feed harvest. I am not sure if the handbook is supposed to give extra XP as well?

The Staff gave extra XP. The Farm Boosters do not. None of them, not just the chicken feed book, nor do the claim to

They do say though that they increase 'production', collection not mentioned, 'production' is the word used, so that part is very misleading and has fooled a lot of farmers

Thanks Larino and Samty for your answers, that is clearer now. Though it does make the handbooks value much less and therefore I will stay at level 1, it is not worth the gold to upgrade it. If it gave the XP then that would make a difference.

I agree. I'm not leveling up either. I would consider leveling up for the extra xp though. That indeed would make a difference for me too.

If memory serves when they came out they didn't, but I could swear it got changed and that now they do (otherwise what is the point of buying them?)

Could someone in the know confirm or deny this please?

Thanks in advance for the prompt and knowledgable responses

NB A link to the *official* confirmation post would be good...

Barian we just finish a project in my coop and it counted the extra amount from the library books , so far milk and eggs was added when we do those projects ....we haven't tried any other project yet.

Since the library helps the actual items produced, we have found that all that were produced counted.

The primary issue was collection versus production tasks. The library benefit affects collection amounts before they are counted, but when beginning production of something, that gets counted before the library benefit is added.

Just as montuos said, the library does not give benefits if its a produce project, mission, task.
However it is a collect Project, mission or task then yes the library books come in very handy. It has not changed since day one.
