Do you think they mean the fields?
  • edited 15.11.2013
That would make sense as they only go up to 5 at the moment

The fields will get 2 news stages (level 6 and level 7).
Maybe can go up to level 6 and ARCHITECT build level 7.

Looking forward to this one - sounds like fun :p

Shame about the staff though - they'll be sad to lose their jobs, even though they're only ever on 5-day contracts :D

When i first read "acres" i was thinking we will get new land to plant our crops , i always thought there can be one large field , for example 40 x 5 (like 5 regulars in a row) so i dont have to click 5 times every 5 minutes for corn :) . Now the only thing i get is uglier fields :(
And i am dissapointed that the dog bug is not fixed yet.

On the other hand , i am very happy with new event ...

Keep up the good work and fix that dog!

    New event sounds cool.
But I dont like the windmil and fields update becouse it is SUPER hard to have sucessfull farm without buying tons of gold. And looks like your company is trying to make it even harder...

    Latten,

About that new event, can we expect it to start on the 19th or it is only an event that will eventually happen and not necessarily the next one to come?

    Thx

One other thing, Someone will probably know does the event start at a certain time or is it from when you log on to the farm.

you may want to reconsider the name of the new event seed. I dont know if it is a typo or a bad translation but a "rapeseed" doesn't really sound good.

Events, offers and daily prime time, all start from the site and are not related to you being logged in or not. So in other words, they are ran on the game server, not your system, so they start when GGS starts them.

    Hope that helps!

Yeah, that one had me swallow my coffee sip the wrong way. Not that I even remotely close to being offended by it... I've seen much worse as all of you guys, but we know we have some extremely sensitive (close to neurotic) players here that are very easily offended. I know that Latten refers to "rapture" when he uses to the term "rapeseed" but I think it'd be for the best to change the name just to avoid all the drama. I'm surprised it hasn't started yet already.

    Good point Big Bob3.

Agreed. I can imagine the storm of protest from certain players about this one. Rapture seed makes sense though. Unless you are a conservative Christian, in which case rapture has a whole different meaning and will also cause an outpouring about it's use to describe a seed.

Oh wow, I hadn't even noticed that, I was not fully awake yet when I read the post, so I read grapeseed... It definitely shows when "drama" people are not here to jump at the first thing that can possibly rock the boat unnecessarily, a change of wording is definitely needed for this.

It is the name of a real seed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapeseed

Huh, yeah... well, let's not push it here with the Christian thing. If we are to start doing "religious based accommodations" in the game, then, we'd have to remove the pigs for the Jewish community, the Cows for the Hindu community and gawd only know what else. At one point, we all have to use common sense and be tolerant. It is a GAME after all.

But I still think that "rapeseeds" should be changed to something less "controversial".

    Tess,

Don't mean to argue with you but rape is also found in the dictionary and so are a lot of other terms. No sure that saying that Rapeseeds are actual seeds will "run" with some members of the community... I'm sure you know what I mean. I might be wrong mind you... but I wouldn't risk it. ;)

    Kindest regards,

    IO

I have no problem with the wording but just worried about the reaction of some players here, canola could be used instead for instance... Or we can simply keep the word as is, doesn't change anything for me.

yes it is the fields upon fields of yellow that you see, at least here in the uk anyway. mainly used for vegetable oil. (Could have fish and chips in the restaurant and a fish farm)

So far only three posters making a lot of drama over the seed that they say doesn't bother them?

Whoa mate, back up the accusation truck here. Not sure if you are very familiar with the forums, but let me tell you that drama was started over things much more insignificant than this. So like we said, we are not really bothered with it, but we know or at the very least anticipate that it will stir up the boat. Just doing a bit of "damage control" or prevention if you will. Also, maybe you haven't thought of that one, but in Co-op messages, the term rapeseed will be rejected for sure because the filter will wipe it out. I mean, you cannot write SKILL because it contains KILL and you also cannot write GRAPE, because it contains.... RAPE! See what I mean?

Yeah, makes sense. Either Canola or Oilseed would refer to rapeseed and is an accepted and correct term to refer to those seeds. Maybe it should be considered.

I think the name from the Rapeseed is on the word filter so it is very hard to explain it to your coop the new name of it. If you look at the word filter list there are many more words that have rape in it are on that list, so this won't be any different. Nobody knows how it looks so an different name is also good ;)

Love the new items/decorations/events and other things but why not make the game bug free? There are many bugs mentioned by players and we don't see any change with the updates.

Who's creating drama? There are children playing this game & that is not an appropriate name. We're allowed to give our opinions. If you don't like it then that's your problem. This thread is to discuss the upcoming event & that's what everyone is doing here.

I could care less what they name a seed availiable for 6 days every 2 months, but as ocean said, knowing the history of this forum, the real drama concerning the name is yet to come. I was merely alerting the GGS team about a potential problem. Yes, I am aware that rapeseed is a real plant that is widely used, but FarmingGamer has suggested a simple and logical solution to what many will consider an inappropriate term to use on a game that includes many children.

Prime Day: Production and Construction time reduction
With this new Prime Day bonus, your production and construction times are reduced by 50% each.
This bonus takes effect on all actions that are started after activating it. All production and construction processes, started after gaining the bonus, are completed twice as fast
Does that mean forever? In perpetuity?

PS: I use rapeseed oil nearly daily. In the summer I'm surrounded by bright yellow rape fields. Looks a bit like mustard. It's very bad for my hayfever and asthma :(
