Introducing Amanda Maye (who needs a new co-op)

Hi, I’m Amanda Maye. I was a huge fan of the original farmer, and I recognize a few people from that game that carried over to this one. It’s great that the community aspect of the original game has been somewhat maintained despite the inability to chat as easily. I remember trying Big Farm when it first came out, but did not really like it. But I was recently in a GGS Poker tournament when the system went down, so I switched over to playing this so that I could be back in my tourney when it restarted. But now, I seem to be hooked; that was little over a week ago and I’m already up to level 24, will be 25 before I go to bed. I’m checking on my farm several times each day, and actually have gotten that stupid achievement for clicking bubbles maxed out (could have maxed it out twice, kinda fun to sit there watching the people walking around and getting rewards for doing so)

Well, I signed up for the first co-op that accepted me in order to complete a task, but I’m getting a little frustrated with the lack of cooperation and the little red dots besides the other members’ names, so I’m looking for a co-op that fits my play style more, where I can contribute and feel like I’m more part of a group.

A little about me… I am a 32 year old American full-time mother, student and self-employed tailor. I do all three jobs from home, so I’m always at work; hence I like to take breaks with GGS games. I have a beautiful little daughter (the original farmer was so helpful for the pregnancy, allowed me to ignore the morning sickness) who’s now two years old and loves to look at the cows on the game - and the dog, she loves the dog. I have a wonderful husband, who also played the original farmer, but like me, was opposed to this version when it was released. As a student I am getting my master’s degree in business administration, having just finished my bachelor’s in the same area last year, and I take all my classes online (gotta love the modern age), so I could probably talk your ear off about economics and marketing strategies. I’m also a seamstress/tailor. I usually like to make curtains and pillowcases, home décor stuff, because the amount of work to money ratio is insane compared to other things I make (easy work, high pay). But, I started out in wedding dresses, because there are tons of women who want to wear something other than white on their wedding day. I also make other unique clothing items (I just finished a whole Tolkien-inspired Elven outfit with cape and dress for Halloween), and I have a whole line of wearable neck art (men’s neckties redone in a special way for women in the workplace).

Because of my life as student, mother and entrepreneur, I run on a tight budget, so I will never spend money on gold for this game. (I also personally think that charging for gold goes against the spirit of the law in Germany which says all online games must be free, but that’s for another thread, lol) But with that said, I can contribute greatly to any co-op. My current co-op started the first project the day I joined them, and I grew and collected over 2400 corn (2800 is the project goal) all by myself, even though we ultimately failed to complete it. I also religiously check the other trees, although no one has collected on theirs in over a week. I would be happy to contribute in other ways (money and collectables) though. But, because my co-op hasn’t really done anything, I’m not entirely sure what else there is to do in the co-ops. I don’t know how research works, because it’s all grayed out for us, but am happy to learn. More than anything though, I want to be part of a co-op that has players that are on more than just the weekends, and who want to chat and actually be cooperative and a community. The community aspect of the original game was my favorite part, and it’s great that so many of you recreate that on these forums, but I want a little taste of it in the game too.

Okay now that I’ve rambled for like 1000 words, (I’m a little long-winded, but still fun, I promise!) I’ll wrap this up…if there are any co-ops interested in having me join, I’d love to be part of one that appreciates what I can contribute. I am in the US1 server, and my game name is Amanda Maye. And, while I am super task-oriented, like getting my tasks and achievements in the game completed as quickly as possible, and want a co-op that actually works in the game, I don’t really want to part of a super high-pressure co-op. It is still a game after all. I will work hard almost every day in the game, but I don’t want to fear being kicked off if my daughter is sick and I cannot be on for two days. Real life is simply more important than a game.:D

Hi Amanda, and WOW, that's a great introduction! :D

I would suggest that you do post in the Cooperative Search forum however so that people know you're looking for one. Do another post like this one that shows so much personality, and I doubt you'll have too many problems finding a coop at all. :)

All the best to you with your search and your farm. :)

Edit: They're already pouring in! :D

    Hi Monica,
So glad to talk to you again.... looking forward to getting to reknow my farming friends again.

Kat Nip, sorry about posting in the wrong place. Just starting on this forum, but yeah, I can see how I put it in the wrong place. The Cooperative Search forum is just so cleverly named. LOL. Feel free to move the thread, and thank you for the warm welcome!

Hi Amanda Maye - if you are still looking, I and my deputy are moms too and there are four other members, but we are trying to grow. We play daily and do research and projects, but no pressure at all as long as you join in.
We are at Shimmerin Pond if you still need a co-op. I dropped out of my last one due to red dots too. We are all active in this one.
