I remember reading a post about a suggested amount that members of a coop should contribute. It was tiered in that lower level members gave a different percentage than higher level members.
I have searched for that post but can't find it. Am I imagining this, or does someone else remember a post like this?

Are you aiming at a post about a formula somebody made to calculate the amount every member should contribute to make it all fair? Because I do remember something like that. Have not looked for it yet though as we do not use it :)

It was something like 100 X level per day. I can't find the thread. And then someone else posted a similar but different formula

But really it would be better to discuss this in the co-op and work out what you all think is fair. Personally I think when you get to a high level, a level based formula is not successful

Although a mixed level co-op can work the most successful and happy have members of similar level, so you all grow together. In which case it might be you could take the cost of the research and divide it equally among you. Other co-ops are very easy going and you give as and when you can

Really there is no one way that is the best, no one solution for all. You need to work out the best, the fairest way that keeps all your members happy on a co-op by co-op basis

JKK32 thread you are most likely looking for is called cooperative cash donations, here is the link

Thanks... yes, that is the one I was remembering. I am not in favor of having a set amount to donate. We are discussing now what we can do to increase participation.

As with many coops, we have a limited few who seem to want to be sitters and do the least that they can to receive the benefits of a coop. I, reluctantly, have had to boot several members over the life of our coop.

Removing members is simply what happens. My co-op has gone through several changes as well. In our co-op the main rule is: COMMUNICATION. Did we ask to do something and cannot do it? Let us know! Going out for a while? Let us know! Have some issues? Let us know! It can be so annoying when we ask somebody to do something and they do not do it and also not tell us why. If it takes long enough we simply have to let them go :( Also not being able to speak English is a no go in our co-op. Either you want to make the effort to translate everything back and forth or you just leave, for the same reason of communication. Oh well, co-ops are gonna be co-ops and they are actually a bigger deal than more players think they are :)
