Fixed for you. Freezing solution.

I used this fix for myself and noticed an immediate end to crashing and commands not taking. As well it improved general performance. I have also corroborated with five of my coop members who found the same upgrade worked before I decided to post.

What is this highly technical Fix that has thus far eluded the developers you ask? I'll try my best to walk you through it.

1. Step one, go to google and type " Adobe shockwave"
or just use this link http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

2. Step two, Click Agree and install now (version should be 12.0.2.122)

3. Step 3, Take a sip of coffee, tea, beer, whatever floats your boat. Do not agree to install add ons, take your time.

4. Step 4, Install complete? Good work, close whatever internet browser you have, restart the whole computer if you want, but not needed.

5. Step 5. Restart Browser go to game.

6. Step 6 Win.

Like I said, this has worked for me and 5 others and I hope it works for you. It appears the games content was coded under current generation updates which is unusual as it would cause these issues with everyone not on that same update, but hey, what do i know?

Good luck all. Oh and hey if this is the fix, y'all at GGS can just cut me a cheque or give me heaps of gold, either works. :)

Patrick

Edit: If you want to move the thread go ahead, I just wanted to post where most people read.

Thanks for this, it seems to have helped. I've had problems all day with freezing. I'll let you know tomorrow how it went tonight.

Patrick, the thread is fine just where it is now. :)

I'm really happy to hear that it's worked for you and so many of your cooperative members. I hope it works for everyone else that's really struggling with this too. Fingers crossed it keeps working! :)

Hmm, I had no trouble with freezing, but it took forever to load a farm. Now it is done in a split second. Seems indeed to help ^^ Thanks!

Just tried it and it at least is running a LOT faster!

Patrick, do I remember correctly that if I use 2 browsers, I only have to install it oncce?

Shockwave should automatically cross perform onto different browsers, if not let me know.

Try Right clicking your screen on the game and then select settings. Then select Unlimited on the sliding graph for memory use, you may have a bottle neck somewhere in your computer performance.

    Hope that helps

Thanks for your advice! I did that, but it keeps freezing. Getting back in is faster now though. Primetime just popped up, so maybe that is interfering now.

Sorry guys, has NOT solved my changing between farms freeze problem.

Well I knew there was going to be a few. Rusty the reason I drew this conclusion was that I observed massive memory and CPU usage spikes when going between farms, and still do to a lesser extent. But Bottom line, shockwave is like a usage manager that makes playing the browser game more efficient.

My only advice to you, and no i am not a official computer tech, is that the heavy processing load demanded by the game may be getting gummed up (Official term) in another aspect of your computers performance.

Examples include, but not limited to, your graphics card, RAM or other processes running in the background. Are you watching a movie or playing another game at the same time? I don't know just spit balling here, or try lowering the graphic settings and cease animations.

    Good luck Rusty.

Edit: I did an experiment and watched youtube while playing. I noticed that every time I switched farms the youtube video would stop for a moment. So yeah this game is a huge processing power pig or an inefficient one or both.

I am on Windows 7 64-bit, Quad speed 2.8 GHz, 8 GB RAM, HD 7770 (1 GB video RAM), 2TB hard drive.

Based on these specs, why should I have a problem? I have been playing ths game for months and the issue started occurring after the update 2 weeks ago when the harvest display was introduced. I am convinced the problem is at Goodgame's end; there is a memory leak or endless loop in the code that wasn't there before. I suggest they investigate the harvest display code a little more closely.

It appears to have been fixed with the latest update, or maybe because I rebooted - I usually just put it in sleep mode.
