The slider is set by default to the amount - $313742
Moving the slider will show you how many points you get for your dollars

You can safely click the first donate hand button without accidentally donating to check the amounts. Just don't then press the second one unless you want to donate

Congratz on the clarity, GGS I must commend you for that. I have one question: How can I precalculate the amount of points I would get for my donation without using the slider? I understand that $313,752=3000 points, but how much would I have to donate in order to achieve 14,000 points? Is there a way to work it out?

    Carol,

The only way you can find out is by going to donate and moving the slider... It's their way of trying to reduce people holding off until the last minute.

You can move the slider without donating though. You have to click the donate hand again to actually donate

Hooray, that is worded way better.

Poor person #101, who might have received something on a technicality the last time ;)

14,000 points works out to be just under $13,700,000 if it's donated in the first lump sum.

Our top 100 (Dutch server) consists of a few people with 4000+ points, a few 3000+ points and A LOOTTTT of people with exactly 3000 points. The last ones are currently all #83. So is it possible that there are more than a 100 people in the top 100? Because if so, I don't understand why people are still donating unless they want to be in the top 3. From what I see is that there are people with 3001, 3002 or 3003 etc points, just so they aren't "sharing" the last spot, but what they actually do is push everyone of the top 100 list. I can only understand if the top 100 is actual a top 100 with no shared positions (if it's a tie, then first in wins), but this seems not to be the case for that last spot.

    ok the text is clear

my problem with the event is that there is no way i can play for the top 3 positions
this seems to be for just a select few players who are done with every upgrade on all 3 farms
so they have a lot of farm dollars they can spend on this event
where i am still looking at multiple millions worth of upgrades that make more sence spending my money on

to bad i would really like to own the wellspring of charity deco

There's an alternative you can do toetsoep, you can save in advance for the next Charity Event to come around. It will probably mean putting some of the upgrades you want to do on hold for a bit, however you could get yourself to a position where you can position yourself very nicely in the top 3 for the Wellspring of Charity decoration. :)

    can't argue with that
however reading that on some servers a top 3 position requires 4000 point
makes me think i'm on the wrong server on the us server the prize is going up every time this event comes by
this time it is at 20897 points with 3 days left
if you can tell me how much i need to save so i can prepare
i have 7.200.000 dollars and that will only get me around 10.000 points

The slider is (obviously) using a mathmatical formula and I'm dying to know what it is so I can play with the 'big boys' in the top 3 on the US server. I have been saving money since March, but the top three on the US server have donated no less than 20 million each and they have the potential to donate more. If you look at Kat Nip's reply (#12) you will see that 14,000 points equals approx $13,700,000, so toesoep3, you have a lot of saving to do just like me.
