Start it the night before a day you plan to be out doing something else. Or, just bite the bullet and plan to twiddle your thumbs the day you upgrade. Also, upgrading the farmhouse first will cut down on the time to upgrade the mill. That knocked my time down from 19 or 20 hours to just 16 or so.
Honestly, the difference between the level 2 and level 3 mill is like day and night. Being able to get ahead on feed production? SO. WORTH. IT! Besides, if you're already going flat out to keep up with your animals, you will not be able to add any more of them, and thus you will not be able to add any more orchards either.
Upgrading to level 4 is better, since you'll have the capability of stocking up in advance (unless you've already added too much livestock before you get there). You should be able to manage several hours, even if it isn't enough to cover the whole time the mill's down.
BTW how may map pieces you have collected?
In other news, I have the waterfall now...
Be double/triple careful on the next.
The task is: Start production of...
EN, but it's in my dropbox until I decide whether I want it on my main farm or on my gourmet farm (which I finally broke down and purchased after running out of room to build thickets ;>). And if I go to sleep soon, I hope to have have finished my US farm by lunchtime. And yes, I am being extremely careful where my mouse is now! I have more gold at stake on my US farm! ;D
An additional bonus to doing it that way is getting a nice haul of map pieces from the silo in the morning. The silo was the best source of them I had, other than the wheat I grew overnight.
I too thought that, But when I collected all the cow food the following morning, I did not have one map piece, 90 cow feed and no maps I was not a happy camper.
got 386 out of 720.
Let me hope i finish this within the time.
I have been playing for about 5 hours solid farming corn continuously and keeping all other parts of my farm running full time and have only got 400 out of 720 map pieces!
For those of you struggling with the map pieces still, I found I received a lot of map pieces when I milled chook and pig food.
Keep going, I'm sure you'll get there soon.
Kat.
Made the same mistake yesterday as I was in a rush. Skipped 500 corn of which my barn is full of
Corn done... 19000 eggs to go.... hope I don't break any in the rush... hahahaha
