Change fertilizer settings back, Please!

Angry

I used to be able to make enough fertilizer for my 3 apple orchards and 1 cherry to run constantly with a touch extra. I have three cows 1 lvl 5 and 2 lvl 4. I have 3 pigs, 1 lvl 5 and two lvl 4. I also have 3 chickens fully upgraded. Now I have done most of these upgrades since I started noticing a lack of poop. When it was flowing smoothly I had a lvl 5 in each cow and pigs, but then all other cows and pigs were lvl 2 and 3. I also just recently upgraded to the highest lvl silo, and still not enough fertilizer!!!! Why would it flow smoothly with less, and now half the time my cherry sit snoozing because I can't get enough. They had to have changed something in the last 2 months!!! I worked hard to keep my farm balanced and be able to sustain what I have. I am not happy that they would go in and play with the numbers, which has thrown off the balance of my farm. Our co-op just happened to talk about this the other day. Then we realized it was something we all had kinda noticed. It must have been a small change, but like I said just enough to mess up the balance of our farms! I have not complained about Big Farm. I love the game. But this... this has me mad. :(X(

the amount of dung is still the same
so there can be a number of things happening

-orchards on gourmet farm and flower farm use fertiliser
    -your play time has changed
-upgrading takes time higher level barns the most
so they don't produce dung during that time

i needed to demo an apple orchard to run the orchards on the other farms

Mmmmm .... I have also found that my fertilizer (dung-related) has suddenly gone down. Same hours played. No major construction of buildings involved.

Toetsoep, my hours have not changed, and of course no poop is produced during upgrades. Come on I'm lvl 57 almost 58, if I didn't know the things you stated already then I shouldn't continue the game. All the ppl in my co-op have noticed a change in their fertilizer, and poop piles. Those that had an excess they couldn't get rid of, finally notice it going down. As for the orchards on the other farms, I haven't put any in. If I can't sustain the 4 I have on main it would be stupid for me to add more. There has definitely been a change!!

Yup, I've had to stop running my cherry orchard. I was completely balanced and slowly moving up a few extra fertilizers in my stock, now it's not enough to sustain what I'd been managing easily before. Nothing has changed on my end that would explain it. I have no orchards on my 2nd and 3rd farm and the newest change I made was an extra cowshed. That should mean extra dung not less. Something is definitely up.

I got 2 cowsheds, 3 chicken coops and 3 pigsties and I usually was able to keep my silo running as well, but now it's been at a standstill for 30 minutes already

I actually have the opposite problem..

I have too much fertilizer and can't keep my silo running all day...

    If it helps -

    I have 3 pigs (1 x level five, 2 x level four), 3 Cows (1 x level five, 2 x level four), 5 Chickens all level five.

Then Consuming my fertilizer I have 4 apple orchards (3 x level five, 1 x level two) 2 cherry orchards (1 x level five, 1 x level one)

I also have a water tower at level 4 on my farm so that does reduce the amount of fertilizer needed to 6 for the apples and 18 for the cherries.

Then I have no water tower on the gourmet farm and I have 2 level one almond orchards...

I never have to stop producing with all of this...

Although the extra cherry and almond are a new addition so we will see how I go :)

Cami but as you said you have a WT at lvl 4. Ppl in my co-op that have a high level WT said they've notice their poop reserves going down. Of course they still run constantly and have more than enough. But Big Farm has definitely made a change that more profoundly impacted us without a WT or a level 1 WT. I can't help but wonder with all the comments from ppl with high level WT about all their extra poop, if BF didn't make a change to reduce the extra poop problem for those willing to buy gold. But for us who don't buy, it threw us off balance.

I've just checked with a Community Manager and there has been no recent change to dung production.

I normally keep a giant pile of poop in reserve and only make enough fert to have a buffer of about 100 units, so in case I have a "begin production of fert" task or we are doing the Native Wildlife project at the co-op I have those supplies to fall back on. However, I have recently found it more difficult to keep that buffer and my silo has to run more frequently.

I don't think the orchards are consuming more (as was discussed in this topic) so this leads me to think that either silos are requiring more poop in their production, or the animals are constipated and are not producing as much poop. These are the only two factors relevant for the fert production process.* I'm not sure what is going on here but something has changed, and that change is starting to become noticeable.

*I say these are the only two because I am ruling out player-made changes like upgrading a silo or removing animal sheds or whatever else Toetsoep was alluding to before.

Edit: If Rhon is right about there not being any change in dung production, the problem then lies with the amount of poop required to make fertilizer...

Just hów recent have there not been changes Rhon? This implicates that there have been changes, maybe a while back. For some bigger players, they don't see or feel those changes till after a while. Can you or Malreyn be a dear and tell us when and where exactly there háve been changes?

Edit: LOL Jay, we were posting at the same time. I, with my hopeless head for figures, do have the idea that there have not been changes in the silo, so I do assume that the animals are constipated.

The Community Manager I asked said
    " and.. no changes.. really..
I don't remember them changing it.. ever... and I've been here for like 5 months now"

Well, that makes my pants drop! I really wonder then why people have poop problems....

Thanks Rhon, for taking the time to find it out for us.

You're very welcome. It's what I'm here for. I can't add to the discussion from my own experience as I recently added more orchards, coops and byres, so asking 'those who know' seemed the best thing to do

Wondering if happiness has anything to do with production??? Newbie so not really sure about that... Be safe and God bless

The only thing that happiness impacts on is the running costs of your farm. It has no impact on how much poop you get from your animals at all Irish.

Ok so if Big Farm didn't make any purposed changes. Is it possible this is another glitch? Like the corn or apples not being counted. Maybe all our poop isn't registering. Seriously I challenge any of the dev's to look at my farm and tell me why when I am on all day everyday, I can barely keep pace with the demands of my farm! And please get back to me. Because if this is a glitch, I would really like it fixed. I have more poopers on my farm then a player above me who is drowning in it. And they have a ton of orchards on all 3 farms. I can't even think of putting one on my second farm!!!! Something's not right! Help!!!;(

I have to agree with Justme... I am level 69 and had over 30,000 dung most times, now I am dropping like a rock.....

Same here! My fertilizer gets less and less, and the steaming pile of poop is shrinking too! And ditto for at least one other member in our coop.

I'm noticing the same thing. I used to keep anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 dung in storage. Now I have to wait to have enough to run silo. At the moment I have 2 pigsties, 4 chicken coops, and 8 cowsheds and still can't keep up!!

I have no idea, to be honest. But it is not just one farmer but a few of you. It may be that the bug was that too much was being given and you are now getting the right amount.

The info button tells you how much dung you should get per shed, at each level, for each animal. If it is a bug, recording how much dung you are getting per collection would be helpful information to nail this

I have left a message pointing the CMs to this thread, for the morning. But they already said there is no change that they know of. I suspect filing a bug report to Support is the answer

Thanks! Cause if nothing has changed, but we séé changes, then something is wrong. Because we're definitely a bít crazy, but not all of us, and not that bad ;)

I mean... when you do add poopers, but not more orchards, you should get móre poop and/or fertilizer instead of the other way around. I think :)

I appreciate your time with talking to us about this. But please forgive me for not sitting down and calculating each collection as I said I play all day, and I come to play, not do homework. (I am a mother who homeschools kids, I do enough math! LOL) I feel common sense and looking at the level of my farm and animals to how many orchards I have shows the imbalance. I am in a top 10 co-op and #4 in it. I recently added a 4th cow shed and soon will have 4 lvl5 cows, and still my silo sits with nothing to do frequently. But at least now I can keep the cherries going.

Update 5/23: They ran for a little bit but are now dormant again!!!!!!

I may have noticed something like this, but I really can't be sure, as I have made way too many changes to my farm recently. Anyway, if there are no changes to the game that have been made recently, it must be a bug. To find out where exactly this problem lies it's best if you keep close track of your dung/fertilizer for a while to see where it comes from.

Do note that bugs tend to be random and irregular, so not everyone might have this problem, and it might not be occuring every time.

The points where something could be wrong:
    - Animal sheds not giving as much dung as they say they do. (I tested my chickens, they seem to be working fine)
    - Animal sheds taking longer to produce. (this should have been noticed already)
    - Silo taking more dung than it is supposed to. Make sure to test making different amounts at a time.
    - Orchards requiring more fertilizer. (Especially for those of us without a water tower, this should be easily noticable)
    - If all this shows nothing odd, try looking for changes in dung/fertilizersupplies after relogging or switching farms, or maybe picking up dung as a present from your workers.

If you find any inconsistencies you can send a more specific bugreport and help developers locate and fix the problem more quickly.
