Weaker the Farm, Higher the the Prize!!!

Runix3Runix3 Posts: 11
Okay so when I started out with this game and you did tasks and completed set goals you got fairly decent prizes. Just now I received a task that told me to spend 100,000 dollars and I'd get a whopping 30 dung and 25 xp!! WHOOPDEFREAKINDO!

Like seriously at this point I just ignore the tasks and do what I want because what they ask for isn't worth it. Just like the donations drive bys of the vet and others that ask for donated feed for a weak consolation. Um no. This game is really starting to suck.

couldnt agree more. on flower farm upgrade villa (cabin) 25 xp.. upgrade house to level 2 you get 25xp go from 4 to 8 decorations on farm 15 xp have i meadow level 2 10xp ( + $23,000. ) costs you $250,000 though upgrade fence 15xp
I remember upgrading villa on main farm on early level and the xp was well over 100. seems the higher you go the less xp you get from doing tasks...but you need a massive amount of xp to go up a level now.

Looks to me is that GGS wont's you to buy lots of Gold and trade it for Farm dollars and using Gold to get things done quicker. Like they have said it's a business and I guess there making at least a Cool Million a month. with 367,092 players playing this game.

The rewards do seem a little weak once you get to higher levels but I don't really mind it. I lot of people complain about the cost of upgrades and having an excess of upgrades to do at higher levels but I don't mind that either. This is, after all, a game about management and it seems people overlook that. I'm currently sitting at level 38 (almost 39) on a main farm that needs a plethora of upgrades, the 2nd farm still needs expansions and upgrades and I now have the 3rd farm to look to once I hit level 40. I'm taking my time figuring out which would benefit more before the other and taking them down one by one and as I do that I'm getting the xp needed to slowly level up along with taking care of a task here and there for a little extra xp. I'm not so sure why people are in such a rush to climb to the highest level or have every building upgraded to the max. I'd rather take my time and have plenty of things to do than be at the highest level with all the upgrades and nothing to work on.

I'm with you, MenaceDawg. I'm at 36 and only now have I started to pay occasional attention to my 2nd farm (let alone the third I'll have available soon). I went through a plethora of upgrades on my 1st farm in the past week, making sure I replaced old decorations, and finally (!) got my poop situation under control to fuel my orchards. Now that it's leveling out there, I'm catching up on expansions on the Gourmet Farm. Once I am comfortable with that, I'll have a stab at the next. Keeping my happiness under control has been the key to really getting my income rolling. I only complete tasks if they match up with my current plans (or won't set me back). :)

I agree with Menace and Lifthrasir! Every xp is one, and that way I move up slowly too. I have reached level 59 that way. Sometimes I do a task and get some xp, some task sit there for ages :) My barns got upgraded to lvl 4 just before Easter, and I had that sitting since lvl 43 :)
On the main farm I kinda recently had a taks to have... I think it was 38 decorations. So all the big ones went out, and all the flowerbeds made a short comeback. That was Kabaaaam 500 xp at once :) Always nice, things like that :)

I was lucky to be pretty far with my main farm already when the foodfarm came along. I have that nicely the way I want it now, it's functioning pretty good and tonight I am going to upgrade the restaurant to level 6 so I can make all the recipes too. I usually hamster something first and then go for the next upggrade :)

After the restaurant is up to 6, I can either upgrade the gardens there, or work more on the flowerfarm. I do recommand to get the flowerfarm when you can. Even if you don't do much with it, just make some decorations to get the naggers happier and only make the simplest bouquet, you will have your investment back in less then 2 days.

I also really love the management part of this game! It's what keeps it interesting :)

Good advice and tips MenaceDawg1980, Lifthrasir2 and Gwendolen :) I too don't advance things with gold just to level up more quickly, if we still want to be playing here in a year and not be bored, doing things as they come should work out about right:) It will be cheaper on our pocketbooks that way too :D Happy farming and God bless u all:))

When you're logged into the forum, go to the very top where you'll see a link that says "Settings". Then on the left-hand side of that page, look for a header that says "My Settings". Beneath that there will be a link that says "Edit Signature". Click there, and you can edit your signature for the forum. Mine's just a link to our coop recruitment/information thread. :)

Same here. I love figuring out how to maximize what I'm doing in the space I have. In a lot of games it's pretty cut & dry, but here with so many different sized buildings, it really makes it just that much more fun (or frustrating, lol).

we need to level up because we need land. we need land to build decorations to increase happiness as we are not going to use gold, so we need twice as much land for decorations to get same amount of happiness.
All we need is land and when you need 3 or 4 more levels before land is available without gold than you need to level up.

I've been doing just fine without purchasing any gold. The xp is flowing slowly and at a steady pace just by doing my farming routine. I have all the expansion slots I can have at my level and am working on upgrading all my buildings. My happiness level is at about -68% so I'm quite profitable. I honestly have not experienced a drought of xp on this game. Perhaps it's because I'm entertained by all the other things going on that I don't even pay attention to it but I do level up at a steady pace. I'm 4 xp points from level 39 and I can purchase my next expansion slot at level 40 which works out fine because it costs just a little over $1 million so I should have enough time to do a couple of upgrades and save up for that slot when I hit 40 :). All about management.

im on level 44 and need to be on lev 47 to get next land at $3,100,000. to upgrate silos need extra 10 workers, upgrade barn need $2,000,000 each . i need a few more apple orchards as silo is full. need another couple of cows as im overflowing with food for all my animals. i just need land.
on Gourmet farm same problem cant upgrade anything else there as i need land for houses decorations. cant even put a goat stable in for same problem.
you cant un grade a property to free up workers for something else. you can demolish something but after the expense of building it why would you.
as im not prepared to store decorations and use gold to get high level happiness ones, what else do you do??? you need to level up simple as that. its not for bragging rites or anything else. its a simple need for land.
when you look at some top level players farms they are not very attractive, everything jammed in together, no greenery apart form orchards, i like my production things spread around.

i have the same problem on gourmet farm. with all the things they want you to do is amazing and for that you need land and a lot of it. 1st task upgrade restaurant $50,000 and additional 10 people , then have 8 decorations on farm. you then need to have a garden thats 25 people, then its upgrade garden time, now they want you to buy next land lot but not available unless you use gold.. i will only use gold for water tower. need land to put it on first though.
yes you can play the game at a slow pace if you dont want to upgrade and advance your property at more than a snails pace, but i want to have a lot more variety in the decoration department. i like the look of the vegi patch and flower garben. the colour from it brings a lot of joy.

I read through some of the comments quickly. After getting frustrated early on, I decided to just enjoy the game and do what I wanted too. Eventually, the tasks get done that way as well just takes longer. Btw, I haven't spent one single cent on the game of real money. It's possible. Just have fun!

You are going about this game with that right state of mind. You don't have to do your tasks the moment they appear. If you think of them more as goals, you'll enjoy accomplishing them much more and will more than likely set you on the right path. I still have tasks that are about 8-9 levels old but I know I'll get them done with the path that my farm is taking.

As the game stands right now you have to pick on a good looking farm or a functioning/profitable farm. If you want to buy nothing but vegetable patches because you like the colors, that is your choice but doing so you are accepting the fact that you will be sacrificing space for a better looking farm since you will be required to buy more decorations to achieve a higher happiness level.

Same thing here... And i'm level 41 ... level 42 in 63 xp

I think it's ridiculous to spend money on that game...
  • edited 17.04.2013
I agree that it is ridiculous to spend money on this game.
I am at level 31 just over halfway to level 32.
Don't get me wrong, i love gold. And it is awesome that when you level up they give
you gold. And sense i am on every day i get 30 gold every week due to the daily login bonus.

And about the tasks thing, I try to do my tasks as soon as possible.
I also try to plan which ones i am going to do first.

And about the Leveling up thing, I am leveling up at least once a week, more like twice.

Well thats what i have to say.

Being at level 61, it's very hard to level up just on the second and third farm; the XP rewards are minute, and I rarely have tasks other than the repeated three (on my main farm), which also give very small rewards. Maybe this is good for lower-level farmers, but not for us higher ones :/
I totally agree with everything that has been said on this thread :)

A lot of good thoughts here! The game can be played very nicely without buying gold. I only spend what I save. My goal is to go to the top without buying any gold. Patience, persistence, and good strategies should take us all a long way.
  • edited 17.04.2013
    Hi Cedie,
    That is my idea too.
I look at the to person on our sever and you can tell that she(or he) has bought Gold.
My goal is to at least get into the top 100 without buying Gold.
I believe that it can be done and that is what i am going to try to do.

    Yours Truly,
    Super Space Girl
