Im kinda disappointed here. Something new ONLY for new players? That almost seems like a slap in the face to those of us that have been working diligently on our farms from the begining (or even near begining) of this game. Ive always kept positive and given feedback on looking at the plus side of events or updates, but this one has me floored. Its almost like saying to the players that are loyal and want to see the success of this NEW farm game to GGS ( I was an avid and loyal Farmer player) that you dont matter.

Sorry for my negativity here, but I cant look at the positive side of something that isnt possible to all players through hard work.

    Happy Farming, Em :)

I have to say, I agree with Emrys! We are the loyal ones who have been working hard and building our farms!! will the veterans get a special reward event?

    Emrys Bryn,
you can still check out the plane by creating a new account on another server and waiting for it to appear.

The contents of the cargo are designed to help new players building their farm from scratch and while it's a great reward for the 'little ones' it wouldn't be of any use for those who have progressed past level 20 or so.

sigh--this one is depressing. Are there Really that few people of high level that are now gone that we don't deserve a special treat? I am absolutely loving the idea of a help for new people, but to the point that there is nothing new for me too--That just sucks. And i don't have time to go start another farm on another server. Geez.

I like this new player help thingy. In my opinion i think it will encourage new people to stay. For example, if after you read this, go and look at the ranking for your said server, and click that last button on the scroll side. Then see how long it takes you to get to people who are past level 10. I found that lots of people play and get bored quickly because they hit a point where they have to wait or need something and just never come back. So overall yes I believe that this is a good concept to implement. :) well done

So what about the people with animations turned off? Will we get the clicky-thingy someway?

I understood the plane and cargo are for the beginners/new players, but i thought the thing with the workers/surprises was for everyone ? Did i get this wrong ?

Ok...Sorry Nafaru, but your reply to me was not an answer I was at all looking for. Yes, I understand what your role is and that you are the go between designers and us. So I am by no means angry or upset with you.

I agree with what Monica says, I dont have time to create another account on another server just to check out a feature that applies only to newbies. Im not saying that this isnt great for them, but you WOULD think that there would also be something for the rest of us whom have invested TIME and/or MONEY into this game already. How can we be excited over this. Telling me to start another game on another server is like pretty much telling me "hmmmm...lets see how much more money can we suck out of this sucker". Again Im sorry for the negativity, but in the future the game should really take into consideration all players of the game and not just a select few. This is NOT the way to keep players here. I already know many that are unhappy here before this and want to leave.

    Happy Farming, Em 8)

The intention of my post was not to tell you and start a new account in order to get you to pay some more.
What I wanted to say was: if you're interested in the graphics of the airplane and the contents of the box, you could create a new account to see them.

I get that you're upset that there is no big feature added for all the high level players this week, but please take two things into consideration before you insist that we do not supply content for all the higher levels:

First of all, the worker interaction we implement with this update is targeted at ALL players. Everybody will be able to get those small rewards from time to time. This feature will not disappear once you reach a certain level. I know it's just a small feature but it's not like there is nothing new for high level players in this update.

Furthermore I'd like to remind you that we just implemented the gourmet farm, which was available from level 25 on and that we are going to implement yet another new farm soon which will be available for even higher level players only.
There is lots of content, buildings, characters, etc. on these new farms and a lot of quests that are only available to those who have reached a high level already.

Same goes for some of the events. Vicky Ventura's car accident was even said to be "an event that only benefits high level players" by users in this forum as they already have a lot of feed they can give away easily whereas lower level players have to produce them first in order to be able to give them away.

Altogether we try to make new updates for all players.
This time there is something new for low level players exclusively, but you could still check out this small feature creating a new account and there is still another new small feature for all other players as well.

Cool; I don't use animations because I think they're annoying (especially when they get in the way of my being able to click on the farm), but that just means we'll only see the "hittable" workers, right?

Also, I don't know what the farming union would say about hitting your employees... :P

I refuse to think of that as even the slightest of jokes. I will not play a game where I am hitting a person or an animal. The very thought is disgusting to me.

monica think of it as a playful hit, or even hug. After all if it wasn't nice and they didn't appreciate it they wouldn't reward you with a small gift!

I'd prefer to think of it as hovering over an icon and gaining a small reward. They did put quotes over the word "hit" and it doesn't mean hit at all - it's merely a term that's easier to use, like how "farming" in MMOs generally doesn't mean actual farming (it refers to an action repeated lots of times, usually done to level up, gain experience or get some other reward).

I still find it highly offensive.

While I understand the sentiment, it would technically be no different than when you click on your animals to collect milk or pigs or whatever. You're doing the same physical act, and you are collecting something from them each time. Are you "hitting" your animals when you collect from them? Are you "hitting" your fields and orchards and silos? Perhaps GGS just didn't use the best terminology when they put out the announcement, but I think there isn't much to get offended over, besides a poorly phrased description for collecting bonuses.

Probably if the word "touch" was used instead of hit, we would be having a discussion about molestation. Context is always important part of communication, both sending and receiving.

can we just get the announcement changed! There don't need to be a whole discussion about one word. Geez.

Monica79538, you were the one who started the discussion about that one word. After jaystarr2 poked fun at the choice of wording, you said:
I refuse to think of that as even the slightest of jokes. I will not play a game where I am hitting a person or an animal. The very thought is disgusting to me.
I am fairly certain Latten did not write that in the context you inferred. This game is not like Grand Theft Auto or such. We would not be hitting the workers, as in physically hitting them, only aiming for them with our mouse and then we would be rewarded for our accuracy. If one aims for a target and is successful, then it's said one hits the target. That seems quite normal to me.

Then even after other people tried to explain the correct context, you said that you were "highly offended." Somehow your disgust turned into being highly offended, which makes it sound like you were attacked. It doesn't appear to me that anyone's words here could have been construed as attacking you. In any case, you did continue the discussion about this one word.

Since you were the one who was highly offended and wants the wording changed, could you offer an alternative way of describing what happens?

"Your workers now will cause more action on your farm! Every now and then, one of your workers will have a little icon appearing over his head, over which you should hover with your mouse. If you're successful (the icon only stays for so long), you will be awarded with a little present, and with that you start a chain reaction, which will reward you with even better small gifts every time you "hit" a worker. If you manage to hover over five workers in a row without missing, there will be another little reward for you! What exactly this is? You'll see!"

Perhaps Latten could learn from whatever alternative you have to offer.

Juniper - well said. The whole debarcle over the word "hit" is ridiculous. Everyone knows what Latten meant by it. The use of the word "hit" in the paragraph that's been written, under no circumstances does it make out we are to abuse the workers to get a reward.

No offense intended Monica, but you have made far too much out of this, and as Juniper said - you started it. It's time to let this rest before gets even more ridiculous.

I agree. I only originally pointed out the use of the word "hitting" in that sense because yes, it IS ambiguous. If there was any fun to be made of anyone, it would be Latten in his use of the term. But nobody could sensibly think that we are literally beating up and abusing our workers, animals, silos or trees; to think that would be seriously missing the point of the game. And most people understood the ambiguity and that all we'd need to do would be to mouse over the workers and click on them, as we have been with all the other aspects of the game.

I don't want to go too much into ridiculousness but I guess the other consequence of saying that you "will not play a game where [you are] hitting a person or an animal" in the literal sense (which you seem to be sticking to, even when explanations to the contrary have been offered) is that you'd better not be collecting any milk, eggs or pigs in the game as on your logic, that would be "disgusting" to you... :/

It's "hit" as in "move over them slightly with your mouse without missing them", and "hit" as in "hit the target without missing". I can't believe there actually IS a discussion :)

Now let me work on the shotgun addon for next week*.

*there is no actual shotgun addon.

Being a newbie myself, but having advanced to the higher levels I feel this will be great for the game. P.S. Besides internet checkers this has to be one of the least violent games online...of course we all know that all those little pigs we sell are not going to a petting farm, right...lol...so lighten up and be happy.
