They have done it again

GWS were unable to get me with their ads so now they have replaced them with BRICK WORK
I suppose we will have to buy gold for that to disappear to

Greed is getting beyond a joke

oh wow, I hadn't heard of that one yet

but did have someone in my coop complaining of new ads today - on farm screen so they couldn't play

Yes, instead of white borders, we now get brownish brick borders.  I also noticed that the right hand area for ads has gotten larger, so my game area has shrunk a little more.  Sigh.

Try reducing your window size slightly at the bottom so that you get a slider at the right (or cntl+ to zoom in)

The brickwork covers up part of the menu I use to change farms, etc. No amount of zooming helps. And when the ad box on the left pops up (continuously), the game freezes until it loads. Also, I've been betting bumped off a lot. Some casual gold buyers are refusing to buy out of principle. Ads are one thing, but when they make the game almost impossible to play, then ...

@artful (US1)  can I have a screenshot of the menu being covered?

@artful (US1)  Maybe you have a different screen size or resolution to me. If I shorten the window (or zoom in) until a slider appears at the right of the screen the white space (bricks) disappears.

Thank you, John. That did work, but resulted in a size that is more difficult for me to see very well. I've cut back on my playing time, which does help! LOL!

That's a pity @artful (US1). I play on a laptop and by losing 1/2 an inch at the bottom I gain 2 inches at the side.  :¬)

The ads are too processor heavy for my old computer so make the game unplayable. I now have a large banner across the screen giving me two options: 1. Become a subscriber. 2. Allow ads. Neither of these are options for me. Any idea how I remove the large banner? Or have I just been chucked off the game permanently?

They have worked around the adblocker by giving you the choice of disabling your adblocker or paying the ransom. The choice of losing half of my screen to ads or paying a fee for a broken game brings an obvious third choice into play. Just quit the game. Life has plenty more options to pass your time than this lol.

@MinionBob (GB1) can you not whitelist BigFarm in your ad blocker?

The trouble is I am playing on an old computer. My browser will crash if I have the ads running as well as the farm. The game is not playable this way, that is why I put the adblocker on in the first place. I am not allowing the ads, it would be pointless.

This is my thinking also. I think it might be time I moved on.

I have a friend who is pulling out of the game after all this time because he considers it ransomware.
I find it hard to see how new players will be attracted to the game when they see a massive amount of ads covering the screen. Who were the marketing "geniuses" who came up with this idea? Do they really think that gamers will take an interest in anything that is being advertised? What is the point? They are simply focused on the game and potential new players will not hang around.

Yes i came on to find this plastered on the front of my game unable to remove it unless i spend my money, Well sorry ggs  keep your game it isn't worth my time. This is the way they treat their player who have spend thousands on it over the years. You have sunk to a new time low. BYE
