How do I fish??
[moved from Tutorials to General Questions]
Comments
Having said all that, go and look at the tutorials on www.crazybigfarm.net they are awesome
At the fistst you must buy "fish boxes" so you had place for more fishing accessories, then you need buy the "buckets". Now you need to choise good fishing accessories so your fish line not broke anf get better and faster fish
As @Uncle John (AU1) say, when you have caught a fish, pull it but when the tension is too much do not pull on the rope to reduce the tension. Then you can pull the line again until you get the fish up.
Good luck
then I have no more line: none showing in the box...where /how do i get more line, catch fish?
HELP ASAP PLEASE
Read the rest of this thread. Follow the suggestions.
Since completing all the tasks I have never manually fished with rod and line.
See CrazyBigFarm's article on the Fishing Hard Worker Event HERE
OMG!! thanks everyone, I will give it another go! Sure appreciate the help!
I did not mean that fishing yourself is not a good thing if you want to be competitive.
I do not enjoy that sort of fishing and would rather miss out on rewards and have fun doing other things rather than do something I dislike.
Only using Oleg is a personal choice, not a good game strategy.
When the fishing line starts turning yellow, have you tried repeatedly fast clicking instead of holding the mouse button down?
I normally suggest to hold the mouse button down as long as the line stay green, then a slow pattern click (short hold when it's yellow, to a fast click when it's orange.
I also normally suggest what Grandpa Squeak said about catching only the fish in the top area of the pool. Once those have been caught, exit the fishing area (X to close the pop-up window) then go right back in. When you do, the fish will have moved positions as more will be at the top that are easier to catch.
Lots of great information, well said !
As for manual fishing, in addition to the goldfish, there is some profit there too. The fish are replenished for free every 1/2 hour (please correct me if I'm wrong on this time, I think it's 1/2 hr, or at least it used to be).
The MF & GF are stocked with about $10-$16 worth of fish, the FF only about $7-$9K. But for anyone needing a bit of cash, that can add up if you don't mind the fishing part of it. There is no cost to the fish, just the tack to catch them, so it's a pretty good profit margin. (*just 1 more thing to like about manual fishing)
I do constantly send Oleg out on the boat, he's more more efficient than me to stock the restaurant. Manual fishing off the piers for me is just to pass the time (like waiting for missions), for some extra cash, or goldfish.
The only difference in how I fish to yours is,
I use the top of the line reel & line, and usually suggest to anyone to upgrade those as they are unlocked. Each of those make a big difference in the line staying green as you're catching fish.
I don't use lures unless i need a specific fish.
However, I use the cheapest poles & hooks (small minnow hook & reed pole).
Once I was able to upgrade my line & reel both to the most expensive, my line no longer ever turns red when fishing.
if using bait, hogfish baits do give the best profits of any of them, and yes they can be hard to catch
but, using a reed pole and small minnow hook along with the top of the line reel & fishing line, even a hogfish in the bottom left corner of the screen will not yield a red line for me - it stays green all the time for every type of fish
It doesn't quite make sense, in this game it is usually the highest end stuff that works the best, but after one of the fishing upgrades once upon a time, it made it so this combination works better than using all high end stuff. Several of us played around with many combinations at the time & this was the best combo of tackle to keep a green line. Will you try it & see if it works for you too?
