What happened to these events?

  In the days of the Architect, you could only upgrade a building to its top level when the Architect was present.
  They did away with him and allowed the final upgrade at any time (I guess he limited gold spending)

  the one with the bees and the one with piggles are still showing up from time to time.
  The traders have moved to the trade-center
  CC and Hardworker are trying to kill us all with their constant being in play

  The naughty or nice event was removed since the system of pranking was not really a good concept and its drawbacks were hated by the majority, orphanage charity drive was not scheduled for the last two years, the same with Matilda's mushroom search event.

  The Mushroom Search event is still there.
  It starts when we join the game...only once
  I remember these events as when I played this game in 2018, these events were there.

  You are right. It was shown that CC only takes once a month. Now it occurs twice or thrice a month...

  Trade center did take over a lot of em. Including Naughty & Nice since pranks were removed. Ya can not get the good stuff at the trade center.
  Orphanage charity drive - if I remember right that was right before Christmas where we had to donate stuff, fill ours first, then help others fill theirs. Personally to me it was frustrating for smaller co-ops. Ya get those that focus on special events instead of doing championship, then there were those that would start it and someone else had to finish it cuz they didn't bother. It was just another event when we already have so much at once. Personally I'd like less events at one time.

  Orphanage charity drive, was donate $$ the more you donated, the higher your rank on server, prize WAS a telescope deco.  But not many would spend gold on it, so was removed as no income for GGS.

  
  

  1 event missing from your list which was great and did bring gold purchases is lotus attack, it was the ONLY time I would buy gold.  I wish they would bring it back
