BF MasterChef Story

We're continuing BF MASTERCHEF but this time you have to tell us a story.
Give us a tale of your farming day where you nurtured you fields, looked after your animals and made ingredients and food in your Dairy and Bakery.
Devise or find a recipe using the produce and ingredients from your day's labour. At least 4, and then anything else you need.

We need a full recipe with a list of ingredients and the method of preparation.
We want a photo of the final dish.
You don't have to cook the dish yourself but you a bonus if you do
- For the story itself
- For the deliciousness of the dish
- Plus a 2 point bonus if we believe it is a photo of the dish you made yourself

I will describe to you a day in my farm , from the time we wake up until its time for bed
so here is my story and recipes
Welcome to "Sunny Valley Farm"
this is the name of my farm, a place surrounded by valleys bathed in sunlight
I feel so blessed leaving here with my family, my husband , kids, parents, grandparents, my brother and his family
our day starts every morning at 5.30 with what? a cup of coffee of course
now lets go , we are ready to start a typical day to our beautiful farm!
first thing? to milk our cows.
we feed and water our cows, clean the dung and take our fresh milk to the dairy where my grandmother makes the best cheese and yogurt! and to the bakery where my mother and brother makes all the delicious cakes and muffins
until we are done with all these.. we have all the kids (my children and nieces/nephews) ready to help us
they go straight to our chickens to gather all the eggs .they know I make the best omelette so thats what I have to do first cause their day starts with a big breakfast of course!!!
I take some eggs scrambled with milk, some tomatoes, some peppers, add a few muchrooms if you have and grated cheese, salt and black pepper, mix them all together and put them in a hot frying pan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil , fry a few minutes from both sides and there you have the fluffiest omelette ever
and here is our plate
I like to serve it with a big glass of milk for all the kids
in the frying pan ready to eat
after our full breakfast we continue our day,
we go and feed our pigs , ducks and our little goats and donkies... oh all kids love our goats
they even have names for them like Poppy, Sweet Pea, Goaty, Stormy, Lucky and Fussy who is their favourite one and always follows them around even when they go to the fields to gather the wildflowers and to the meadows to collect lavender and aloe vera for my sister in law to make her beautiful perfumes
after all, we cant smell badly all the time cause of dung, you know? we have to use perfumes ha ha ha
All grownups go to clean the fields from our wheat (so we can take it to my grandfather and father to make our flour ) corn, barley, cabbages, tomatoes for our fresh salads and of course... pumpkins ha ha ha
we have so many of them, you know what i mean?
there are so many of them.. luckily all my friends helped to find them (since I couldnt
and here it is!!!
we need:
pumpkin (one not too big ,chopped in big cubes)
cheese (200 gr)
rice (not much, only a cup of coffee )
olive oil (5 tablespoons)
you can use a pastry sheet from the market but I make my own and here is the ingedients you are going to need
flour (600gr)
wholemeal flour (100 gr) you know the one which consists of high-fibre if I am not using the correct word again
olive oil (150 ml)
vinegar (a shot)
salt (2 teaspoons)
water (warm water and depends how much )
how to prepare:
you put all the ingredients for the pastry in a large bowl and you mix them pouring litle by litle the warm water unti you have a soft dough that doesnt stick in your hands. you then cover it with a towel and let it rest until you make the stuffing for the pie
in a wide non stick pan you put the pumpkin pieces , you want to make the pumpkin soften and to absorb its juices. to make it sauté like french people says
we then take it of the fire and we add the rice and the cheese , mix them all and let it cool
we then take our pastry, divide it in 4 pieces, pour flour in every piece from both sides and every piece we take and we open it using a rolling pin and we open 4 similar pastries
we preheat our oven at 180°C. we greese a pan with olive oil, we do the same to all our pastries and put two at the bottom ot our pan then the stuffing and then the last two pastries above
we turn the sides and edges to the inside to make them beautifully crunchy
a little olive oil on top to go everywhere, sprinkle with water , cut with our knife so we can cut it easily afterwards and ready to take to the oven for about 1½ hour
enough time to make the salad to go with the pie
for our salad we need
cabbage coarsely choppped, a few tomatoes or cherry tomatoes if you prefer,
spinach and arugula salad (I am not sure for the word exactly)
cheese, feta cheese to be exact, a little cottage cheese if you have and slices of parmesan
olives, olive oil and bread croutons or rusk
for the sause we will need:
2 tablespoons of mustard
1 1/2 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of mayonnaise*
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
*you can make mayonnaise using 1 tablespoon mustard, 250ml oliveoil, 1 yolk, 1 tablespoon lemonjuice, 1 tablespoon vinegar and small amount of salt
execution
first we mix all the ingredients for the sause, we begin with the amounts I gave you and then we can play with honey/mustard adding more honey or mustard depending on how spicy or sweet we want the final tast to be.
we then take a large bowl, put first all the green veggies , pour one tablespoon from our sause, mix them a little and then add all the other ingredients to our salad , puting last the croutons and we pour on top the sause to go every where and espesially to the croutons to make them a little more soft
a good mix and our salad is ready!!
extra tip. if you add an avocado in slices in your salad... it will be a super food and even the ones that don't eat it wont know its there
until the pie is ready... there is enough time to go gather the kids who were playing with our dog and go to the orchards to collect our fruits (apples, cherrys, peaches... you name it , we have a variety)
figured I shoule make an apple pie cause our bakery is famous for this recipe but then all the kids asked for muffins. who am I to dissapoint them??
so I decided to make both for dessert,
an apple pie (goes greatly with our coffee on our afternoon break) and some chocolate muffins
In our bakery we already have almond muffins and chocolate muffins are going to be a new addition
lets start with our apple pie (want to keep the muffins a surprise for the kids )
ingredients
5-6 apples (depends on the size)
150gr butter from the fridge so you can cut it in pieces
400 gr sugar, the juice from one lemon and two cinnamon sticks
4 eggs,
200 self -raising flour +1/2 teaspoon baking powder
(tip: if you have plain flower use 200gr ot plain flour but add 2 teaspoons of baking powder)
and vanilla extract
execution:
we slice our apples into quarters or whole rings preferably. put them beautifully laid in an oven pan. then sprinkle with the 200gr of our sugar, cinnamon , the lemon juice and and the butter and put it in a preheated oven for 15 minutes at 180 ℃
in the meantime we seperate the yolks from the egg whites. In a bowl we beat the egg whites in a meringue.
In a different bowl (a small one makes the work easier) we beat the yolks with the rest sugar (200gr). we pour the yolks in the egg whites and with a spatula we mix them with gentle mooves (no mixer, it will damage our mix)
we then add the vanilla extract and the flour+baking powder to the mix and keep mixing softly with our spatula.
we pour all this mix to our oven pan on top of the apples and in the oven again for about 20 minutes
(depends on our oven ), when we see the color change in a brown one ... it is ready
we take it out, and turn it upside down to onother bigger oven pan. In this way we are going to have a syrupy apple pie. let it cool and ready to taste it.
want to make it better? serve it with ice cream from our dairy!!!
all the kids are now with my husband at our horse ranch. to help with the horses and cleaning the stables
after they are done they will go for a walk with the horses so now its time to make ...muffins
and this is the recipe for my famous chocolate muffins
ingredients
100 gr butter, 250 gr sugar,
250ml milk + 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
100 gr melted chocolate (ok I'm not sure if its the correct word, couverture chocolate but its a chocolate we usually put on desserts so pick anyone you like)
280gr of self-raising flour
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder + 1 teaspoon baking soda+1 teaspoon baking powder
100 gr of chocolate drops
optionally: add a flavour of a sweet cherry liqueur or if you dont wont kids to eat it, add a flavour of vanilla extract
(butter and eggs in room temperature)
execution:
we put our chololate cut in small piecies in the microwave to melt it and leave it aside
(careful: less than a minute and if it needs more we do it again for less than 1/2 minute cause chocolate easily burns)
we mix together flour+ cocoa powder+baking soda+baking powder and we take them through a sieve
We take a bowl, with our mixer we beat the butter with the sugar for a few minutes , then add the eggs , beat again and then the melted chocolate. keep mixing.
then we add the lemon juice in the milk and we pour it in our bowl, mix a little and then add the blended flour and powders little by little. We better here use a spatula (cause the mixer will make a mess)
when we mix everything together we add the chocolate drops and what ever flavour we like
take then our muffin pan or muffin tins (whatever you prefer) a little butter and flour in them (cause we dont want it to stick inside) and we fill our tins about halfway
and we bake in a preheated oven at 170-180 ℃ until they are ready ,about 30 minutes depending on you oven
and this is the result, enjoy!!!!
everything is ready so time to go gather the kids and finish our day
we have to go and make sure all the animals are secure on their stables ,we dont want any weasel to come and eat a chicken or a duck . we check their water supply and now we are ready to go into the house to enjoy ourselves all these delicious treets !!!
we had a busy day... like always
the kids are now ready to go to bed and we ... well, its time to sit on our porch and relax
tomorow is another day... busy as always
I have to think about new recipes... and why not add them to our bakery
a pizza would be a wonderful idea dont you think? but better to stop now
otherwise this post will never end
hope this is what you asked for!
you and everybody else, you left me alone here ha ha ha
On a beautiful winter day🥶🥶🥶❄❄☃️. I was watching TV beside the fireplace and suddenly an ill-fated broadcaster appeared on the screen. It always brings bad news.
The broadcaster says: "We cut this broadcast to inform you that a storm may blow tomorrow evening, so stay in your homes and farms and make sure your animals are safe."
Or it's really bad news. Suddenly, the window opened strongly due to the strong winds and heavy rain outside, so I ran towards it to close it. Then I put on my overcoat, carried an umbrella☂️☂️☔☔, and went out to the farm to check on my animals.
Praise be to God. Good words. The stables doors closed well, then I went back inside. It's nine in the evening and it's time to go to bed.
It is dawn and it is time to wake up
Snow had covered the ground and the roofs outside I ate my breakfast and then went out for a start my day as usual.
After hours of fun work, the sun set, and I made sure that the animals would be safe and entered the house, ate dinner and then went to sleep.
After a few hours, after the winds blow and blow hard 🌬🌬🌬🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪little by little, rain and hail fall, lightning in the sky, and the sound of terrifying thunder rises⛈🌧🌨🌨🌩🌩💧💧💧💧 .............
It seems that someone angered Mother Nature
Time passed and the situation began to improve until the morning sun rose, when I heard someone knock on the door hard
Who is he, you see
I rushed to the door and opened and it was one of my friends
He was traveling and when he returned and found his farm in a dire condition.
He will stay with me for days while they repair the ruins on his farm.
Fortunately for him, he left his animals🐄🐖🐓🐐🐎🐕🐈🐥🦆 with me before traveling and no one was harmed by them
Come on inside, it's biting outside, and don't worry, I assure you that your farm will return better than it was before.
I brought us hot milk with chocolate .☕☕☕☕
☃️☃️☃️ ☕☕ Hot chocolate ☕☕ ☃️☃️☃️
It's a drink for an atmosphere like this, and to calm my friend's nerves
So these are the ingredients and the preparation method
milk (cows)🥛🥛🍶
Chocolate (candy factory)🍫🍫🍫🍫
sugar (sugar mill)
whipped cream (alpaca )
homemade marshmallows
How to Make Hot Chocolate:
I heat up my milk in a saucepan per usual with a smidge of sugar
Pouring Milk Into Saucepan
I bring it to a scalding temperature, which is about 180 degrees F
Scalded Milk in Saucepan
Be careful to not let the milk come to a boil, or your end result will be grainy.
When the milk is properly hot, I turn off the heat, and add melted chocolate straight into the milk (just microwave the chopped chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring after each time, until melted
The melted chocolate whisks in beautifully and you end up with creamy, smooth end
Serve with either homemade marshmallows or whipped cream.
And thank you 😀😉🥳🥳🥳🥳👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳👍👍🧣🧤🧥
