Island Farm Event ranking screwed. on Aus Server

We have a dozen people who haven't even got an Island farm who have amassed 5,000,000 seashel earnings.. I noticed the same problem with the recent Viking Farm.  What is going on???  Why do I bother to play this buggy game

    Oh well I guess it's the work of the Gold theme box. And it's quite common to get 1 million runestones, tickets or sea shells.  And I guess these rewards count?

    It's because they are players that finished in the top 1,000 of the previous island farm but didn't log in since the ending of that event until now and their 5 million runestones ranking prize counts towards their ranking in the current island farm. Generally those players will not score that much and other players will take them over time so it is not too much of an issue, but it can be a bit strange to look at their score compared to others at the start.

    So you get 5 million runestones and seashells ? Does the same go for gold theme box?

    This is already reported since the rework of the islands in 2019. GGS does not seem to care.

    This looks to me like the gold theme box magic, if you doubt that the player cheats, feel free to create a support ticket, the team will be happy to investigate :)

    Anything that gives you seashells while the island farm is active counts towards the island farm rankings. It is not really useful to take advantage of it though because you have to remain logged out for such a long period of time.

    The 5 million+ scores are not because of the gold theme boxes. They are players that are receiving their rewards from the previous island farms they played in after logging in from a long period of inactivity. For the top 1,000 they get 5 million seashells and basically everyone in the AU gets that if they score something in the temporary farm.

    Of course they are aware since it was reported already about  a year ago.
    Whether it is being worked on....I very much doubt that.
    I cannot be that hard to  make the 5 mil. award void as soon as the next island with the same currency is started.
