have the apartment block
and before the update i hade nice happiness
some in my coop is not affected
flower farm is not affected and has no apartment block
You can check whether there is a problem by adding up the negative happiness of all the houses on your farm, including the ones inside the apartment block,
and see whether it corresponds to the total given here:
Previously there was an unintended error where the houses inside the apartment building did not affect the happiness meter, even though they should have.

It is not a bug, this IS the fix.
It was wrong before, it didn't count the houses that were placed into the apartment building.
But is should have counted them, and now it does.
You can check this for yourself by adding up all the negative happiness from all the houses on your farm (including the ones inside the apartment) and see whether it is the same as the total shown here:
However, if you find that it does not add up, on your farm, please post a screenshot here so that we can forward it.
And also list the number of houses on your farm, as well as the level that each is at. (Remember to include the ones inside of the apartment building as well).

I imagine they didn't mention it when the apartment block first appeared because they were not aware that the bug existed.
As for not mentioning it in the bug list today .... your guess is as good as mine
as i only got to know by going to the known issue page on the support site which i and others rarely visit ! as we are always directed to the forum for issues
If GGS determined that the happiness was showing incorrectly they should have communicated this as soon as they realized it. I know, I know, someone will say I should have realized it would lower my happiness level and I should have reviewed the information in the build menu, yada yada yada....
My happiness level was between 80-90 but is so far in the red now I am so discouraged. Now I am faced with the dilemma: do I remove a house and apple orchard that took me weeks to build?
That is what GGS calls "communication changes".....well, it is a change indeed. From lousy communication to no communication.
Nothing fair about this game, its all take take take and mistakes and we are always the ones to pay for the errors, something not quite right about that I think, having said that I do feel it is quite sad, would be a great game if only GGS would learn how to give a little too and I don't mean a box of ruddy humas greenhouse seaweed, I would like to put that where the sun never shines!

The happiness is being effected in a strange way.
Some have reported it give more happiness & other reporting it takes to much happiness away. Others have reported that their happiness changes during game play!!
An update on this matter would be nice
