Forum Contest - They look like a flower but sting like a bee

Contest - They look like a flower but sting like a bee

Today we celebrate an international women day. Therefore we prepared a little contest for you. Below is a picture that represents the faces of 20 famous women. They come from all around the world and all around the servers. Some of the ladies were active in sport, some are artists, singers, writers, scientist, politicians, activists, adventurers, record breakers, Nobel prize winners and even one saint. Each and every one of them is different and each and every one of them left some kind of signature in human history.

Your mission is to match pictures, the name of the woman, and the  the numbered statements below. Each statement describes one of the woman. When you figure out which name and statement matches each picture, send me a PM with the name of the lady, the letter of the picture that represent her image, and the number of the statement that describes her. For example, if you think that Lady on figure G is Tessa Truesdale and that she is best  described with the statements no. 4, write:

G-4: Tessa Truesdale.

Statements

1. Behind a great man, there is a great woman. And if she knows how to calculate, than its a formula for success. Or energy, at least.

2. If she calls you “a monkey”, its a compliment.

3. When Britain generals saw what she was doing, they probably said something in the lines: “Oh no, not AGAIN”.

4. Her art should be admired by many generations. But than Mr. Bean happened.

5. Sky is the limit, they say. Well, not for this lady.

6. Roses are red, sky is blue, she is … Oh well, her mother was from Lithuania.

7. Don't be such a maggot, grab that broomstick and lets play Quidditch.

8. She was born in Kosovo, worked in India and died on a same day as another very famous lady.

9. She felt form a horse when she was young, treated 7.828 patients and if you ask her for advice, it will be something in the lines of “keep moving”.

10. She tried to be a nurse. She tried to be a social worker. She even tried to be a wife. But she could not deny her passion. It included a “canary” that did not mind cats and those caps with long ears and goggles that make you look so cool.

11. Its easy. Just watch that little yellow ball and slam it really hard before it bounces for a second time. Even a 16 year old girl can do it.

12. When we talk about races and wheels and going fast, this lady got a bit different idea. And yes, she was a real lady. A baroness, to be exact.

13. Don’t be fooled by her name. Although she shares her surname with another famous man, they are neither related, nor share the same political methods. But they do come from the same country.

14. She wasn’t satisfied with becoming a nurse. She wanted to become a doctor. And succeeded.

15. At one moment, she hated men so much that she wanted to became a nun. That would made her the fastest nun in history.

16. She won a Nobel prize. Twice. Her husband won a Nobel prize. Her daughter won a Nobel prize. What a noble family!

17. She just wrote what she saw happening around her. But her story and her death touched many, after her father published her writing.

18. She has four names, no surname, 48 kg and believes that fear and not power corrupts people.

19. She lived in the Old World. She lived in the North. She was a writer and encouraged woman to get involved in social work.

20. If it wasn’t for her, we would not have this contest.

Each letter and each number can be used only once. If not, only the first  appearance of that letter or number will count. And only one entery per player is allowed (or, again, only the first one will count).

You will get three points for each correct triple (name, picture and a statement) and two points if you only guessed two out of three (e.g. correct name and the picture, but wrong or missing statement).
Five people that have the  highest score will get  50 gold for each point earned (max. 3000) and a balloon decoration of their choice.

The contest will end on Thursday, 14. March, at noon

Good luck and remember: google is your best friend!

It seams that we have a bit problem with picture D. The picture appears in at least two different articles, but articles state that the picture was from a different woman. So, either the girls were identical or one of the articles has the wrong picture (unfortunately its probably the the article we used, :( ). I will count both names as correct, but you still have to match the right statement.

the right name doesn't match with the statement. and there is no statement that matches with the right name. that's why i' ve chosen the wrong name which does match with the statement.

( Your mission is to match pictures,  (the name of the woman,) and the  the numbered statements below.

this is what We were suppose to do for this contest, but I Saw the pictures, and the statements, but where were the names of these women ? , cause I do not see them anywhere, I had no clue who alot of these women were, at least if their names were there I could of at least tried to match them with the statements and pictures but can not if no clue who they even were,  and I can not use Google either, so it was hard to find any of them, the ones I did know of I got right which was like 7 of them, the rest forget it, but oh well just another contest down the drain, but Congrats to those who were able to find out who the heck they were, more power too ya.

Thank you, Wisewing!  I've been sweatin' it the last week, thought for sure I mixed up 2 of the statements! hehe :)  And that Mother Teresa one almost tripped me up, that picture was only in use on one small little WordPress Blog, and it didn't match the other pictures of her from around that age.. but I knew that's who you were alluding to, based on the topic of the contest & the corresponding statement. :)

I'd like a Gary The Goat, please.  That's the last one I need to complete the collection. :)

Congrats to all the winners, well played!  Looks like I'm not the only Google-Fu  black belt around here. :)

    So close @artful (US1) !!
