There are too many glitches with this game, no way am I giving my cc # to GG for subscriptions. I can see it now,, cancelling a subscription and find charges on my cc statement. I'll pass on this one.

Yes, if you're like me, I've started to figure out in my head the advantages of free repeat which I'm looking forward to. Missions will be easier, and nursery seeds will be used less often for projects and filling contracts. An extra Honey Cream overnight. So many things...

If you cancel the payment we won't take money from you for the next subscription. It works in the same way as other subscriptions that can be canceled, in that once it's canceled it's... well, canceled.

Some of the advantages seem subtle but if you use them right it could potentially lead to some very nice gains and time saved!

Will the single user package make watering trees free too? Or the coop package? As regards to the suggestion made somewhere of a free trial, how about we can win a prize of a package for a few hours in mystery boxes and so on.

So now you are calling the "Convenience Packages" things which "if you use them right could potentially lead to some very nice gains and time saved. " Thanks for admitting this about subscriptions.

You might as well admit that they give continuous production, if you use them right as well. They are just different words to express the same idea.

Its changing the rules of the game.

I don't know why people are so resentful of these offered conveniences. I have been playing this game for nearly six years and some of the game processes are very repetitive and tedious after a while. You don't want to play any more - it is called burnout. With the single user package, I would be encouraged to come back more. Seriously, after playing most days over all this time, I need a break. It's either a convenience package or walking away from the game completely for a while.

Yeah, definetely and 5 Euro / month is not that expensive

Excuse me, But tell me example of "Entertainment" that you can get for those kind of costs

I'd be curious, what you can actually do in real life, with that very low cost...

I know going to cinema with a popcorn is already 4 times the price of this ;o

Allow me to explain it to you. Historically people have bee invited to play for free, at a known and accepted disadvantage. Up till now they have had exactly the same user interface as players who are invited to play and pay. However, that is about to change.

Of course there will be resentment.  Do you think the cannon fodder are mindless? Well  I don't think they are mindless.. It is blindingly obvious that GGS are pushing as far as they believe they can get away with,  to obtain increased sales. I think the limit to that has now arrived.

"Convenience Packages" are the change which will alienate the free to play players like none other.

You spelled out some advantages in your post above such as them allowing  continuous offline production, so you can probably understand why players might feel some resentment about being deprived of those..It is already an unfair game, who needs or desires more unfair still?

As well as those you mentioned a there is also the non-trivial matter of paying real money for less clicking. That is an abuse that must be fought against, no matter how trivial the amount of real money they are charging for it. It is a health and safety issue.

    continuous offline production
I'm not aware of this being on offer. We haven't added any continuous processes in the subscriptions but rather usage of an existing feature at no additional cost. 'Continuous' implies that somebody could go away from the game for a long time and come back to heaps of cash. That isn't the case and players are not getting a Farmbot 5000 with their subscription. It's also the case we aren't depriving anyone of any feature, all features are available to all players of our games, the choice whether or not to use those features is an individual one. You also mentioned health and safety but we are not charging you for health and safety, there are lots of ways to be safe and healthy when using a computer, and playing Big Farm in concert with the current health and safety advice for any extended usage of a computer can result in a happy and healthy lifestyle. What we are not doing is designing a product to induce health issues and then charging you to alleviate them.

Oh thank goodness you're still breathing! I thought I was going to have to proclaim my fandom for the blue man group again! Friday seems like a pretty sure thing at the moment, I don't expect further delays after that.

Stress from a game that is supposed to be fun is a health & safety issue. Games are supposed to be fun, let's reemphasize that. When it becomes like work, it is no longer fun.

Rusty Farmer pointed out some continuous production features, a specific example :he/she mentioned was : "Get an extra Honey Cream over night". Others are also continuous offline productions such as get extra apple harvests over night. That is continuous offline production.

You can call it extra benefits or a cow's next bowel motion, or  things which "if you use them right could potentially lead to some very nice gains and time saved " , or what ever words you want to use. Perhaps you are refusing to see it, or more likely refusing to admit it  because you are trying to keep the lid on a powder keg situation.

Hey wrong tense, gee I did get that incorrect, I am so sorry . You "already did" design a product which induces health issues and now you are going to charge the players who can afford it to alleviate them, that is  *less clicks" for real money. And GGS attitude towards those players who cannot afford it? *tough luck.* is my guess.

@Pameow (AU1) It's specifically your use of the word 'continuous', it implies a never ending bot which is not the case. It's not just a matter of terminology, you seem to be implying that someone can leave the game for a few weeks and come back to an automated farm where everything has been done for them. That isn't the case, you are simply getting a little more bang for your buck. You also mention "Get an extra Honey Cream over night", which is not something that exists in the packages at all. The packages don't provide items but bonuses and information about the packages will come from us, not other players in the forum.

In regards to health, I can tell you that Big Farm is no worse than other point and click based games, we have not seen any reports of widespread health issues due to playing Big Farm and if you have health concerns I would again recommend catching up on the latest literature in regard to this topic and if you have concerns about it but we won't be answering any more questions or covering anything else in relation to that topic in this thread since it is completely unrelated to subscriptions. We do not offer health services, the subscriptions are not a health service and not one person in this office, now or in the past, has ever designed any part of the game with damaging player health in mind.

  • I'm looking forward to subscriptions being available - I'd love to get them!
It all hinges for me on how the kite reimbursement will be handled.
I have my fingers crossed that GGS will do the right thing

If a player is online each day,  pays the subscription for unlimited use and sets the repeat harvester for "overnight" and they repeat this action each day,and so  this sets up a "continuous" harvesting. It is automated and offline overnight and it is ongoing and could be sustained for months. That player gets an extra harvest each night compared to non-subscription paying players who cannot harvest whilst they are offline and so the example of the extra honey cream and apples are valid. The products go into the barn or other designated areas. Indeed the paying players will get a lot more "bang for their buck", I do agree. Its the non-paying ones that i am concerned about. it is usual for both teams to be on the playing field during a match, This new condition removes one team from the playing field..

At no stage have I said the player was not online each day to set up the repeat harvester" automated harvest whilst offline" program interface.

Sure they can; The repeat harvester is available to everyone, it just costs a bit of gold, instead of buying a subscription. For $5.00 a month, you could buy 4,700 gold per month, and that would give you 47 "repeats" of the honey cream. Buy it during a 2-for-1 sale, and you'd get 94 "repeats" of honey cream.

Maybe what you mean was, "people that pay RL money get an advantage in game"?  Well, yeah - but that's always been the case.

Of course I don't know everyone's financial situation in the game but I find it hard to believe that a substantial number of players would have their budget so tight that they couldn't afford a 8 dollar subscription if they wanted to. I know there are those that will never spend money on online games as a matter of principle but what is 8 bucks? It is one bottle of wine. It is one beer at a bar. It is one fast food meal. I currently spend 100 bucks a month on phone and internet. What is another 8 dollars, relatively speaking?

By that logic, if a player logs in every day and tends to their farm they have an unfair advantage. We could have setup the subscriptions like a bot, but we didn't specifically because we didn't think that would be fair. Instead, we require players to login in order to utilise any advantages they get from the subscriptions. There are no bots in the game and I don't think it's unfair for people to login and get an existing feature at a discounted price. I understand if you don't personally like the subscriptions and if you therefore choose not to purchase them, but it does not mean we have added bots to the game or that we ever intend to do so.
