A video will be released AFTER THE UPDATE and AFTER  the event is launched.

The video will be be before the event starts, it may even be before the update, we don`t have a time for the update yet.

Its tomorrow anyway and I don't see the point of giving info when people don't have the time to read it in advance

I also don't see the point in launching an event as soon as the update is done, with a note like the one you just posted (not that its your fault @WascallyWabbit ) which explains little to nothing, unless GGS is assuming people will be sitting there to wait for the update and then the info and then will be "playing happily ever after"

GGS getting more and more careless

yep, another grind, has all the hallmarks of a hw type thing, the last thing we need

clearly the village was making little to no gold for ggs, so hence this change

so instead of a collect as plod along normally village, we now have an 'event' village, very transparent

while they're looking at the village, why not get rid of VH on decos, it's pointless, the purpose it was stated to serve when first introduced has never come to fruition, players have no interest in swapping decos in and out

and it was introduced with the new layout feature that allowed us to move our decos about with ease while reworking our farm layouts, that was bugged to hell and went the way of the dodo, but now we're stuck with decos that have timers on that make reworking your farm layouts painfully tedious

and why the removal of medals and a medal shop? that part of the village was actually useful (as opposed to most parts which are useless), this just looks like the latest in a long line of ways that ggs is removing quality 'free stuff' from players

nothing about this village change appears to hold anything of any value real value to players, looks like just another gold cow

apart from hw stuff as you go (which will be largely rubbish if ggs stick to the current trend), is there any lasting benefits of placing high in the new league? if all it does is give bragging rights, that's meaningless anyway, that has no value to it at all

Wow we got new hwe in the form simple VF
Its like a kid bro/sis of wwc /cc/c hwe  and u will see how much good stuff is there for u to enjoy for example in cc u gain 20wet pig feed no there is no such rewards in this we have 30 wet cow feed oh yes rewards upgrade from 20 to 30 yeah
  • So less than 24 hrs notice. Is all the uncertainty lack of information provided to our wonderful moderators, or simply that GGS doesn't know what will happen because their test environment is so bad?

How about resources wasted on challenges started and not finished prior to this poor announcement?
It is 36 hours notice & your coop is not even in a challenge at the moment.  :|

Turns out it was only 12, so it is a good job you are not in a challenge lol
Your attitude sucks WascallyWabbit and this from a moderator as well! GGS screws up once again and you revert to insults and pedantic comments from user like the one above? The fact remains is that there are plenty of valid questions being asked and NO proper answers being offered.
  • I thank GGS for attempting to improve on the Village League and reduce the number of Coop Challenges.

I'm curious about the progress on HTML5 though. Flash has been overloaded for a long time and they keep adding more.

Also, don't thump the Wabbit. I think GGS has it all backwards with what they ask their volunteer moderators to do. The announcements and answers should be coming from the CM (paid employee, I believe) and the moderators should be reviewing our comments, slapping us when we get out of line, and answering questions from their experience (rather than GGS support).

    Yeah....the game still gets updates!!!

So....Who starts the challenges?  Deputies, etc.?  Can they be lined to come in a certain order?  Could a leader pick three challenges in a row?  so as to have things manageable.  Or am I only dreaming?
  • I hope I'm not being too cynical, but I see "we will do less CC's" giving us a village event that takes place over a fixed few days like a CC. Will offer boosters for gold and cash like a CC. and you can choose to play, but there is a league table system, so if you don't keep a certain level, you get demoted to a lower league… yes, like a CC. Oh, and the awards will be like hard work events.  Personally I liked the village medals, enabling us to choose rewards. I hope the gameplay lifts my spirit as there will be choices on what to collect by the look of it... here's hoping!

I think I get it,   :) in the first announcement it said the new challenges would have a time limit whereas there isn't one now in the village league, the challenges run till completely done.
And I think the question is how the ranking of the coops is determined.

You choose a challenge that has a time limit that you like & different ones are worth different amounts of points.

How will this effect the CC or anything else to do with which coop is in what position?
The Village Fair is a separate event, but will hopefully mean less CC.
Wabbit, if we aren't going head to head with another coop, does this mean we will be forever defending our position? Will we be expected to do this daily or weekly? Thank you for the heads up on the changes.
It will be like other events, where you collect points during the time that the event is running.

Super, so new bugs introduced on Wednesday with timed events to spice up our lag...gee I can't wait.
  • Some of us like to compete and having a new format to compete seems fun. I'm trying to stay positive here so that I'm not already fed up with a game that isn't perfect. They're trying to give you something new. If you don't like it, don't play it. Wabbit, thank you for the information. Please tell them we'd like to see the warning well in advance on the game screens so we don't get caught in the middle of something.

The medal shop was too good to be true for GGS standards

It was simple and effective, one thing to be adopted for all events not just the village league: every player in the server receives medals and can use them in the medal shop to buy one or more items

It doesn't matter how many medals, what matters is that the medals are a reward and they can be used to choose an item to buy. Obviously every player will select the item they need the most, from collection items to boat crew and equipment, super feed etc

This is way better than the preposterous construction tokens for example which only benefit GGS because the tokens put the players in a mind set to use gold to skip   construction time

Medals and medal shop should be the system used in every event, a currency to use in a shop to buy items of your choice, including special buildings, in place of those rewards  which are mostly worthless and always the same over and over.

The most valued rewards have been and are still being replaced with worthless ones. We receive crew and equipment for boats we don't own, countless copies of the same  decorations over and over, plus a variety of items our farms produce at nearly no cost in no time.

BF resembles more and more slot machines, where you click click click, why ? No reason, but to click you have to buy the tokens to insert in the machine, welcome to the casino game people !

Wasn't a huge fan of the medals shop in that (1), couldn't save them up for larger ticket items, and (2) prices weren't static. Buy one and the price doubled if you wanted another one, and then again.

If it were more like the WWC coin truck, then, yes.

Yep, WWC coins  just what I was thinking of

for the moment GGS has deleted some rewards that could be bought with WWC coins, next they will delete the WWC coins completely, just as they removed the medals

But no worries, you will still be rewarded with decos and speed feed for participating in events

@PCA (GB1) As the announcement says, the event is not starting right after the update now, so as long as they get the video out tomorrow, you should have several hours to check it out - We don`t like these last minute things any more than you do, so I can`t argue with that, but things do seem to change, right up to the last minute, so it also gets annoying when we do post things earlier & then have to keep posting corrections. - Fingers crossed nothing else changes now. :)

@William Robert (US1) The last we heard, the changeover to HTML5 would be happening this month, so lets hope that transition goes smoothly. :)

My apologies if you felt insulted by my reply before, that was not my intention at all, it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. - It looks like GGS made us both wrong in the end, going from 36 hours notice, to 12 hours, to a couple of days lol but at least anyone doing a challenge, did finally end up with time to complete it. :)
  • I was wondering, if we complete a challenge in that VF, can we choose to do another and gain those points also? We're trying to see how the best set up is going to be, everyone there at the start or an on going few hours a day for some players.
  • Agree with you Lorelei2001. Less CC's will be wonderful and definitely will make being in a co-op so much more fun.

I'm trying to be positive about the VF as well.  After reading the introduction on it, I am skeptical.  Seems it might be just another stressful game play if co-ops have to continue to defend their position.  Why not just allow the events without having to defend a position in the league?  I hope I am wrong about this, but replacing one high stress portion of the game with another, isn't any better than having the VL the way it was.  Less CC's makes less stress, but adding more doesn't make things better.  I hope I am wrong on this though.

Fat chance...CCs will never decrease....the only way to get GGS' attention is for every coop on all servers to stop playing CCs.  And that will never happen!
Exactly right! In about a year from now (assuming this game is still running) the event will be CC then VF, CC then VF, CC then VF......same amount of CC's as there is now but VF's thrown in to further increase competition in a game that is supposed to be relaxing. The rewards for the VF may initially be decent but don't worry the re-balance will eventually arrive to ruin that just as it did for every other event where good rewards were available when they started. I may be wrong and it turns out to be a good event but its hard to get excited about anything GGS does lately.

pretty much sums it up suzyq22, replacing a cc with what sounds like a hw type event wont ease pressure, if anything it will increase it

with a cc you can dip in and out of it doing missions as you wish, a hw by nature is one continuous grind, that's why they call it a  hw lol

this is gonna be trainwreck fast track straight to hell that after the novelty of the first one, is gonna bomb big time, like the current hw events are

and that's my optimistic side speaking :)

i guess sence new event testing is not great, test farms are ignored! we will go into this eyes wide shut and they hope we will spend a lot of real money on gold!

I guess one way to look at it is, if you choose not to play, you don't have the stress added to your play.  If you choose not to play you won't be forced because another coop made you play.  So, if rank in the VL is not important to your coop, you can rest easy and just let the new VF pass by each time it comes,  Now that would make things far less stressful for everyone involved.  Good?  Maybe, we wait and see!

Everyone here knows I always try to stay positive about every new event.  And I certainly do complain when there are issues.

however, I can't seem to find the will to stay positive for this event.  Yes, at least one less CC a month, but none the less still a competitive co-op challenge no matter what you call it.

For some odd reason GGS does not understand the meaning and the purpose of a co-op and does not seem to understand Bigfarm should not be a full time job.

They now have 3 co-op events, they all run one after another with no real break in between.  CHWE, CC,  & now the VF.

The complaint from players was not lack of variety from constant co-op competitions, the complaint was that players no longer have time for their families, pets, housework, or jobs.

GGS says, "You don't have to play all the events".  Sure, if you leave your co-op you can play or not play whatever you want.  However, if you choose to be in a co-op, you are agreeing to participate in whatever the co-op wants to participate in.

GGS is destroying the co-ops.  Many have already left their co-ops.

I would just like bugs and lag fixed. I passed up the goldfish event this time because fishing for goldfish is bad enough at full speed but last time with the lag just made me want to throw the PC out the window!
  • What is happening with challenges that are going on now?  we just got challenged by the usual coop that always loses even though nobody actively does anything other then regular farming. Will this challenge end with the update?

@GoldenrodFarm (US1) What is "supposed" to happen, is that you should be able to complete the challenge & get the result pop-up, with your medals, which will allow you access to the shop to spend them. However, the team are not sure exactly which things will disappear, so, for example, when the wagons disappear, will you also lose the tab below the next harvest timers? - in which case you would not be able to see the current scores in the challenge & you would just have to wait for the pop-up to see who won ... A blind challenge might be fun lol

As you are just doing the challenge through normal farm activity, it can`t do any harm, just see what you have after the wagons disappear from the village & hopefully win the last of the medals :)
  • Like a lot of others I would imagine, I'll reserve judgement until we actually play the event.  For me, the medal shop wasn't perfect, double prices etc but it worked, pretty much bug free.  I understand the need to change things around to keep players interested rather than same old same old, and also from a business perspective to try to increase gold sales, but it troubles me that they continue to introduce new events rather than fix existing issues.  Personally speaking, I'd be far happier to continue with same old, same old on a game that was bug free and have limited new events.

Fix the boat asking for the wrong items etc before introducing something new.  The new event will have bugs and glitches and will only add to the ever increasing backlog of fixes, increasing players (and also probably GGS staff) frustrations.

Totally agree with one currency as a reward - one currency, one shop, and the players could then buy a deco. or speed feed, or tokens whatever they choose.  Everyone plays the game slightly differently so would want different things.

But, all said, its my choice whether I play the game or not, and as I still play I guess it can't be too bad!

When do we have to change to HTML5?
Will the stand alone Flash Player also not work anymore?
