COOPERATIVE VILLAGE - HORSE MEADOW

I made a guide here with some useful information about the horse meadow, I thought that I would also post it here to try and give some other players some helpful information.

    https://youtu.be/0l-apvVrP_s

The cooperative horse meadow has some useful functions when properly used, it can be very beneficial to your horse since you can improve your horse's attributes or breeding effects much faster than in the horse ranch.

In the cooperative horse meadow, to successfully acquire new attributes or breeding effects for your horse, you will need to send your horse that you wish to acquire these attributes or effects to the cooperative horse meadow by first going to the cooperative village, clicking on the horse stable button, selecting a horse to send to the cooperative horse meadow and confirming your decision.

Now you can enter the cooperative horse meadow and I will explain many of the functions of the features in it.

This is the talent wheel, you can see here what attributes or breeding effects you can get and how close your horse is to breeding. You can also hover your mouse over your horse when it is not busy to see it's current effects which can be useful later when breeding with other horses.

In the top row, there is some useful information to help with the breeding process.

The first icon mentions how many horses are in the cooperative horse meadow and how many can be sent to the meadow at once. At the moment in this image, there are 9 horses in the cooperative horse meadow and there can be a maximum of 35. The maximum amount of horses in the meadow can be increased by upgrading the meadow.

The number of gene points is influenced by how many horses are in the meadow at the moment, you will need a certain number of horses in the meadow to reach the maximum amount of gene points when breeding. In this scenario, we need 12 horses to maximise the amount of gene points we receive when breeding.

These are the village dollar and gold costs, they can be lowered by increasing your village happiness by adding more decorations on your other three farms with village happiness. In the opposite effect, the costs are increased by building/upgrading in the cooperative village.

To the left of the screen, you will see that you can use activity items, look at the activity history and select gene distribution.

These are the activity items, here you will select items for your horse to use in the talent wheel to fill the love meter.

Here is the activity history, you can see the last 5 items that you have used and the time of day, the time of day is supposed to have an influence on the amount of hearts you receive from an item. However, I would recommend to just ignore it since it does not appear to have a significant effect on it and to concentrate on your item order instead.

Here is the gene distribution, you can distribute the gene points that you received from breeding here. You can only use this when you have fully charged the love meter.

Every time your horse performs an activity in the talent wheel, the wheel will turn once clockwise as you can see below from these two images.

Generally the best effects to go for are the training effects (strength training, agility training and endurance training). For some advice in what order to use the activity items to reach the point of being able to breed your horse as fast and efficiently as possible, start by using a curry comb, then use horse treats until one of the arrows are on the attribute or effects you would like to collect (you will need 1-3 horse treats depending on where in the wheel the effect is) and then you will need to use a jumping obstacle, a hoof pick and then a horse treat and your horse will then be fully charged. I only used one horse treat in this example, but you can use them until you are happy with the effect you will be able to collect.

You can also try using horse treats, ball, hoof pick, horse treats and ball in that order if you have access to a level 55 timber and textiles factory. However, I have not been able to test this recipe out so please let me know if you have more information about how to use this to get the other two effect and attribute selections as well.

When you have fully charged the love meter, you can now breed your horse in the gene distribution window. You can look through the horses to select a breeding partner in the window to the right. It is best to select the horse that has the most attributes or effects that are similar to yours.

If you cannot get a good amount of gene points from those three horses then you can pay some village dollars to get another three horses. This is quite important to do if you don't have enough gene points to breed from the others or if you would like to maximise the amount of gene points you receive when you breed your horse.

When you are happy to breed, drag the sliders up or down on the menu to the left and put all your gene points in the order of priority for the attributes or effects that you would like to collect. In the image below, I first put all my points into the strength training effect, then the endurance attribute and finally the dressage effect.

Now I will breed the horse. At the moment I have a 100% chance of improving my strength training effect, a 0% chance of improving my dressage effect and a 37% chance of improving my endurance attribute.

As you can see, after breeding I received the strength training effect which I had a 100% chance to improve.

I hope that this guide will help players use the cooperative horse meadow effectively, please comment below if you have any questions that you would like to be answered or if you have any other useful information for this guide.

I would also like to thank everyone that has helped provide information to improve this guide.

  • Thank you for taking the time to show this about horse training.
It's been a confusing issue for me. I will be trying these methods and hope it works for my horses.

Using his training sequence this may well be true but I have found that the jumps score much higher points during "daytime" whereas the flute is much more effective at "night"   :¬)

I have found the same with the time of day effecting all the different items used to enhance the training. Some things work better in the morning like feed/treats, exercise in the afternoon, grooming early evening with feed/treats and so on through out the day & evening. The first few times through try different combinations. See what works for you & the time you have to play.

Thank you for the information, I will do some more experimenting to see the results, I have noticed that most items haven't been affected by the time of the day though.

I think I agree that it does have an affect, but as you see above it doesn't make a difference what time of the day I use the sequence of items in my post above, it will have the same result. So I am presuming that the time of the day in most cases does not make much of a difference. But I imagine that there would be some cases where it can make a difference.

What may be the reason that the breeding fails?
  • Uncle John (GB1)Uncle John (GB1) GB1 Posts: 11,004
The number of genes you allocate to an effect is actually a percentage chance of success.
So if you allocate 90 genes to Showjumping then there is a 1 in 10 chance that breeding will fail, etc.

This is excellent @ninjahuman (AU1) I'll have to direct the rest of the coop over here, especially our new members. I recently wrote up a series of notes for the team, but they have since gone by the wayside. This is really good, and easy to follow.

    Great work!

    LadyGrey :)

Hi, I'm new and I'm finding  difficulty in joining a coop, I need assistance

@Gabbykesh (US1)  Hello, Gabbykesh.  :)  Here's a link to a thread where you can post to let coop leaders know you're looking to join a cooperative..
       https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/en/discussion/105361/single-players-looking-for-a-cooperative-to-join-please-post-here#latest

You can only join a cooperative that's on the same server as you are, which is US1.   :)
  • Thanks
