You have really made something right this time GGS. Your Football Fever event is just great and I don't even like football in real life...
The connection between real life happenings and the game is something new and very successful indeed. I hope to see something like this also in the future, in the meanwhile I will enjoy this event.  :D

Well done!!!

This is most likely the best theme ever introduced, Connection to real life events is very thrilling indeed:) I too hope, that similar events are created in the future. But please do fix these heavy lag issues also...

I like the fact that it's not an invasive-take-over-your-life event. And,despite not knowing a thing about football, I did create a little system based on the top teams and who's playing the next day and which way the wind is blowing and if I'm wearing my lucky undies. I do not like that it runs concurrently with CCs (but then what doesn't) -- it would be nice to fully enjoy a new event without other distractions. I also think priority should have been given to fixing old (very old) problems.

The prizes absolutely suck given the time involved, but a dial-back on the quality of prizes is the new normal, so I should just get used to it.

Having written all this -- would Wimbledon 2019
    be a consideration?

(Oh, and if you were wondering -- humus works on turf seeds.) :)

I would find it much easier to say congratulations if the same effort that went into this event was applied to the bugs and other issues that game has.

Instead we are told "low resources" (really?) is one of the reasons the double xp points & edge plant bonus issue remain unresolved after a month with no end in sight.

While I appreciate you need to fund the company, it would be nice if you applied the same work ethic you use in creation of revenue raising events like this into resolving the bugs and issues that the game has.

@aussie_mark (AU1) , I suspect that he reason we have suffered all the unfixed issues is that all the programmers have been working flat-out on this event because it is tied to real-life and therefor had to be completed by a fixed deadline

Fair enough, but if this is was the case, why bang on about "low resources", they could have just said "Instead of fixing the issues with the game, we are putting our resources into a revenue raising event", 4 weeks ago.

Furthermore since the event has launched, this will presumably free up the programmers, so I'm hoping all the games issues will be fixed next week.

I have to agree that this event is very well-designed and interesting, and I am not a big sports fan (except for hockey). Nice graphics, nice to get incremental rewards. I don't like betting on the outcomes, (but I am sure it appeals to others) so I just donate whistles to both teams based on a guess, and I can still get some prizes without having a clue. No major bugs with this event either, only a few hiccups noted in the forum discussions.
Depending on how you look at it, Good timing/Bad timing to implement this during the CC (appears to be less people playing the CC), and the fact that fields are needed more than ever for edge plants is a major drawback.

All in all, I am pleased with the event, but I still think fixing serious bugs needs to be the priority before implementing new content. More than a month to fix the edge plant issue or to replace boosters is inexcusable.

Game interaction with a real event is a great idea, and an event that is followed across the globe like a world cup is a great choice

Looking forward to more events like this one and less mind-numbing competitions

It could have been cool to launch also the horse tournament with a football theme and offer decos and avatars accordingly.  The pirate theme is good for any tournament

OH...YES...HAPPY DAYS. Now that the event is running, the programmers are free to fix all the games issues, so by the end of the week, everything should be just tickety-boo, but seriously, I'm just excepting the same old "take it or leave it" style of game for the foreseeable future.

In the last 6 months we've had a 1 hour video
    We've had a Sincere Apology
    https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/en/discussion/168842/announcement-a-sincere-apology
We've had the Moving Forward statement
    https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/en/discussion/173495/announcement-moving-forward
Yet from where I sit, I've not seen any improvement at all, just the opposite, the game has been getting worse.

You would think that a game that relies on generating funds would be almost bug free and take seriously the concerns of the players. For example, the gold lock, its been talked about, it been approved, but where is it? Unfortunately the game is supported by win at all cost, cheque book payers, so unless that changes and based on how the game has been going over the last 6 months, I think there is very little chance that we'll see any improvement at all.

Congratulations GGS on designing an event in which the design forces the player to gamble on international football matches to do well in the event. You have a nice big pseudo online casino now to taunt what few players you still have left. Sure the players are not forced to spend real money on virtual gold, and when they do, they are then not forced to buy virtual chips to gamble with, so that's why I call it "pseudo" and no doubt that is why you avoid casino taxations and regulations. very effective and very clever. Congratulations alright.

Good bye to my farm after all these years.  Good luck to those who remain I think you will need it.

Hi all! So glad to hear you're all enjoying the event. The team is very happy with the event and it seems most of you are too! So my sincere thanks for your comments as always, they're important whether they're negative or positive but it's great to see so many positive comments about this event.

In regard to questions about the outstanding things we mentioned, they are still planned to be completed! The gold lock is still on the table and hasn't been forgotten about and the XP booster and edge plant issues are the number 1 priority on the Community Team's list to resolve. I know it's tough but we too are waiting patiently for a slot we can get these things put into and as soon as that slot arrives we'll do everything we can to get those things which are important to you sorted out. It's a matter of when, and though I don't have any solid info on that 'when' just yet I will be sure to let you all know as soon as news comes my way.

For now, good luck in the World Cup and thanks again all!

Although, if they say the issues with edge plants, etc., are number one priority, yet they are "waiting for a slot," then technically they aren't "number one priority." :)

Also, please could someone from GGS tell us why the horse trainer is AWOL. Someone from management needs to "MANAGE" to make sure things are working on the weekends, too. Having things go wrong on weekends seems to be a given, yet no one is around to put things right. Again, no one seems to be effectively managing the game.

As one of our members pointed out, someone is working to update the FIFA scores, so surely that person can flip the switch for events that should be happening, but aren't.

@CM_Hunter could you please make a 'small announcement' of the above.
That info/update is way offtopic here (imho!) - and since many/most?  players,  don't have enough patience to go through every thread here, it won't cover what needs to be communicated from you to us.

So as a service, that would be really, really nice.

    just saying..

From the programming I've done both the issues seem like they should be easy fixes.

Missing Double XP points, You scan thru the data set prior to the hotfix (assuming you have it & it's not lost) and credit that value to the current Double XP value. Fixed. You can then try and fix the original problem the programmers caused which was over crediting Double XP points to some players if you want to.

Edge Plant Bonus not working. Programming suggests:

Edge plant total = Edge plants grown + Edge plant Bonus.

    1. How do you even manage break that?
    2. How come you can't spare 5 minutes to fix it?

To me, not fixing these simple issues, affects the overall credibility of the game.

Hi @aussie_mark (AU1) , thanks for the tips but the issue is not in how to fix the problems. As I said we are waiting for a slot and as soon as that appears we'll have more information for you about the repairs and when they will happen.

@didah (SKN1) I've left this same information in a few places but would prefer to bring more official news when there is some to bring. Once we have a confirmed slot we will be sure to let you all know but I don't want to raise hopes that news as finally come when the news is pretty much 'no news just yet'.

@artful (US1), the intent was to say that it is a number one priority on the CM list, that's not to say it isn't taken seriously by the team but it does mean we have to be patient. The scores are not manually updated in the event, this is done by a system we built for that purpose and doesn't equate to event planning, which is what you're talking about in terms of the summer events and bonuses. Those are planned in manually and so it's not as simple as updating the football scores unfortunately. But we have and will plan in more summer events over the coming weekends, it just won't be as consistent as it has been in the past.

Enjoy World Cup fever for now, how many of you are basing your picks on our Oracle Dogs? How has it worked out for you? And which country do you think is going to be the overall winner of the tournament? It's still early but some surprises have already been emerging so what do you think?

    G'day CM_Hunter

That's great news, wonderful to hear.

It'd be great if a slot could be found to fix the farm event timers on the right hand side of the game screen, Looking through the forum they have only been problematic for around 2 years, but if they could be fixed also, it'd be fantastic. I know its asking a lot.

It does grow on you, doesn't it?  And I love the way the fields turn into football patches when ready for harvest.

The thing I enjoy the most is that unlike other events, it's not intrusive -- doesn't disrupt regular game play (except for growing a little turf now and then), and it's not dependent on team work.

I agree, it was fun and I got lots of rewards along the way. I couldn't make it to the top 100 in ranks though so I missed out on a ranking reward, but it was still fun.
