Well it took me 30 hours to collect 1410, at my current rate of knots I'll fall a couple hundred short of finishing when the timer runs out... so it's official this event is NOT finishable, not unless you gold.

it is finish-able on lvl 3 without gold usage - completed it the first week with a good day to spare

lvls 1 and 2 were finished in approximately 24 hrs each no gold

Purely in my opinion, the food truck event is fairly well judged , except that the value of the reward does not match the amount of goods required to be donated . It has to be designed to cover the increased production that people will get from their gourmet farm over the next couple of years , otherwise there is no challenge .
The wedding event has been drastically miscalculated , if there are no changes I doubt anyone will ever bother doing it .

well now i am 197 but 4(?) weeks ago I was probably several levels lower

lvl 3 took longer because i had just dumped all my baked goods and Oleg fish in favor of some upgrades just prior to this starting and we didn't have those quantities (can't remember if we knew the items) - normally my inventory of bakery goods is at max and Oleg fish are only used for making dishes so normally have a easy stockpile

obviously for level 1 and 2 we knew the items and expected the quantities to be less

    1. I have 10 fields - level of field does not matter for drops
    2. Normally have a near full inventory of all crops so donating barley was not hard
    3. I also have 2 dandy and 1 deluxe dandy duck coops out besides my 5 regular ducks so I am harvesting those quite often - level of ducks does not matter for drops BUT the 2 hour vs 8 hour ducks  have different drops
    4. AND there is a randomizer on the ducks (and some other things) which gives (near) double the "normal" drop ie: reg ducks normal item drop is 12 each duck but randomly you will get 23
    5. One thing I have that most farmer don't is a lvl 3 composter on my GF which gives a decent drop - assume a higher lvl composter would drop even more but not sure
    6. I had a lvl 6 mill (upgraded it today) and virtually always have a max mill going
    7. Have 4 cherry orchards on MF and inventory is always about max
    8. Even if I had zero edge crops  with 10 fields of reg dandi its easy to pump it out
    9. Sent Oleg fishing and used inventory on hand

I finished Level 3 the Food Truck Event at around level 153.  No gold or seaweed used.  I have 5 fields.  I spent wayyyyy too much time on it, though, and now do it at level 1.

Even though it is unlocked at a much earlier level, why is it designed for players above level 100?

Well, in the video with GGS, he did say something along the lines about supplying content for higher level players.  Let's face it, they are bored and need more challenges than the ones who are still at lower levels.

However, a well-designed event would be challenging and fun for all levels.  Raise the stakes for those over a certain level, but make it doable for lower levels as well.

I was not bored with events - i am bored because of endless non-stop monotony of competitions. I looked forward to this as a break in adding content to utilize all farms  - which should have been done before imo

I surely did not expect to donate everything. This is not what i anticipated and for me is certainly sub-par and half-baked.Nor did it replace or substitute the narrow focus of competitions as the game is now.

There is no reason to not make this playable for all levels that qualify to have the GF not just the higher levels. There is no reason to force a player to belong to a co-op to complete.

I have lvl 1, 2 and 3 deco but i sat here thinking big whoop - because they are being parted out - I get nothing out of completing. Certainly no desire to push for the next higher level considering the sheer amounts of donated goods.

Although this is about the food truck - I will add the wedding planner - I almost finished it the first week - barely played the second due to the lesser drops off Oleg, the expectation of too much donated goods and pressure of too short a time frame. Pretty much like the temp island times - i will never get above completing the 2nd chapters and for some time have no longer cared - there is no feeling i need or want to complete as when I first started.

So what i had anticipated as a welcome addition for GF and FF - they are not on my radar anymore. If i am truly bored i might finish lvl 1 or 2 again and continue to "donate" the deco for parts (I think I can buy parts cheaper) - which is why i won't use gold or special ferts on these events.

Yep. Agree with everything.  I might have pursued if I hadn't had to "give away" everything, and the deco was of higher value.

I doubt this farm has any issues collecting the drops but how does he feed everything from one lvl 4 field? all gold to purchase feed?

LOL donno - is that even possible ?  I am guessing purchase mostly - which means for me "good luck gold spender!"

Probably just uses Farm Dollars to buy the raw materials (Dandelions, Lamb's Lettuce, Barley), then converts it to feed in the windmill. I know a few people who do that.  It's expensive, but when you have $Billions$, who cares?

ahh - so true didn't think of that cause i don't buy like that - once in a great while for the horseshoe boat - kind of defeats the game premise that it is a farming game - however in looking at it and this farm - probably is making money hand over fist so why not!

Why does it require so many carrots?  At level 80, it asks for an amount designed for level 200.
  • Fish bait - I know, Special Seeds - I know; but where do the Blue WWC Fans go when there is no WWC event in-progress?

Nowhere. You can't save them, either, so it's a non-reward.

that seems to be my favorite kind of reward - lately!  Thanks for answering, and proving I still have a few firing brain cells.  :D

Well tried the lvl 4 or 5 this time I think it was... I forget.

Unfortunately, with the majority of the drop being intermittent and 8 or less results in a fail... when will the fix the drops.
  • I have been steadily failing on level 3 since I was level 40, still failing at level 68.  At level 40 when I had two cow barns level 2 I was expected to get over 2000 milk and over 8000 apples with one apple orchard.  I don't even attempt them anymore particularly when they are donate not harvest, just lost too much money that way.

The food truck event is very easily doable without gold in my opinion :)
    http://prntscr.com/j2pdrg

Currently playing diff lvl 5 , was very easy even when i was playing slow :)
    This is my gourmet farm

Special dandelions and special barley seeds are good rewards in my opinion :)
i just buy and donate all those stuff which can be bought and keep bakery things alone safe as they cannot be bought :(

Only a very small fraction of players have developed their farms that much.  Still only enough to collect all the napkins for level 5.  The napkins are still way too much for the level it is unlocked.  To finish level 3, a player needs to be about 100 levels above the level it is unlocked.

I'm sure I could do this but why would I want to ?
The cost of all the donations is huge and yet the reward is barely better than I can get from the normal weekly event. If the deco was 40 or 50 VH I would be much more interested.

Hehe i like the special seeds :)
7 special dandelions means one bonus point extra in chwe for free :) . U could argue we can make it in the nursery but when something we want comes in easy way( i mean in place of dollars which is not a problem ), i will surely be happy to trade-off :)

I dont have decos in any of my 3 farms lol(production cost meter in red everywhere) except for little decos used to fill up leftover space and few high VHP decos in FF to maintain VH . So its not about the decoration for me :) and about what benefit they give .

So it varies from person to person :) .
  • I guess your farm just proves a point, the powers that be don't care about the newer little farmers.   There is no way I would get to that point in years since this is a relaxation not a full time job for me, my RL farm is the full time job.  I get a chuckle out of this game since is more like building a city not a farm.  There are so many things just plain wrong with this game if it is supposed to be a farm, like the News Years Chicken, because that is not a picture of a rooster, or the rutabagas that are really turnips, or the goats eating dandelions, when they would really like to browse bushes and trees, and those poor pigs with their steady diet of cabbage with an occasional turnip, yuck, like a poor starvation diet because we can't afford real grain, milk, apples and good stuff for them.  The worst thing is the lack of space, that needs to be filled with decorations instead of acres of pasture for all those cooped up cows and pigs.  They don't want to sell bacon, but don't mind killing fish for all those dishes, and what do they think the buyers are doing with all those pigs anyway.

So I guess I will wait a few years before trying to get level 3 done.  From what I have seen lv 1 should be for farms up to 100, then go to lv 2, or get a choice, I would rather do a lower level then lose all those donations repeatedly.  I was doing the mobile app with this game when I lost the battery in my iPad and was a much higher level.  One thing I can see clearly is that the bulk of the effort in updating this game is going to the mobile app, I have seen other games go this way, as soon as they start piling up the events to stress out the players, and not fixing errors and bugs in a timely manner all while spending the bulk of time and money on the mobile apps the next thing is updates they have the PC gang won't have, which is already true.  Little things like having two windmills there make a huge difference.  It will be interesting to see what happens to the PC mode in the next few years.  If it goes like other games they will continue to deny it is happening until they just totally stop doing updates.
