The difference between collections and donations is that with donations, you lose the value of the harvest. If they were to compensate with farm cash like they did with the Xmas event, that would be a different matter.

for the life of me i don't remember which (weekly) event because it was some months ago when i was complaining to co-op member about "donations" and not receiving any cash (doesn't include yarnuckle's boat, horseshoe ship, or CV things)

a member said we did receive  cash in the background & to watch the next time I donated - sure enough I did see my farm cash increase when i donated that item - seems like it was eggs or apples and since that time i haven't bothered watching (but stopped complaining :) )

with this event this was brought up while i was nearing the end  of it & forgot  to check

so can it be confirmed that we "lost" all cash value of the donated items?

(nor would it surprise me to find out some donations give value and others don't - it seems to be the GGS way of no consistency on anything in this game)

Usually, they tell you on each chapter page if you get money -- at least on the events I've done.  It could be that we got money for donations but they failed to indicate that on the chapter pages.
  • I can confirm that at least for the donkey donation (Task 4) that it is a true 'donation' -- no money received after donating.

I donated the final 890 donkeys for that task (still need a few more carrots tho) and there was no increase to my farm dollars.

This seems to be a bust for me, requires me to collect a ridiculous amount of items... will try but it probably won't get finished.

    No big surprise.

Task 4 is a real problem when one doesn't get the drops they need of a certain item (Carrots) in a suitable amount of time to move on.  Through the use of my 8 fields and planting repeatedly all day today I managed to get approx. a quarter of the carrots needed, so in about another 3 days I'd probably get it done but as there is only one day to go to get this and 2 more sets of tasks done it's not happening!

So it's confirmed for me the food truck is a fail event.

you can always start your own co-op. There are a lot of solo's out there.

costs gold though  right?  I think people are saying not worth it - for gold or the amount of farm cash they are losing
  • I thought Greta and Eva were feeding farmers (people) from their Food Truck.  But apparently they are feeding crows!  And not just 'normal' crows, but in fact 'mutant' crows with hands!!!

Task 6 -- description for the napkins:

Some of our recipes can get a bit messy.  I think our crows would like something to clean their hands with.

(needed a good laugh before trying to collect 2410 napkins  )
  • The barley is able to be bought then donated, as are other items to donate. The exception is fish, baked goods, and flowershop items we have to make. Getting carrots and napkins is too slow even at my level. I'd have those lowered in amount needed. Oh, the edge crops are a bit much too. Esp. when we need the fields for CHWE and Hawaii event.

It has been mentioned that eventually the prices to buy items such as barley will be increased to prevent players easily buying the items instead of producing them, so it is a generally good idea to have a plan to be able to produce them rather then buy them for events.
  • I am asking - why is this starting auto? No other themed does.
@Tinzen (SKN1) We assumed that it has started on level for 3 for most people, so that you get that deco, like usual, before it allows you to choose which level you wish to do next time.

Level 3 themed events usually require level 100+ farms to complete, but are unlocked at much earlier levels.  They all need to be changed to start with difficulty level 1 and higher difficulty levels are unlocked after the previous level is completed.

Food truck for the epic fail, I could not complete step 4 with 3 days of run time cause the drop for carrots were never in the double digits range, 3 usually... 8 at most.

Did. Not. Enjoy.  Managed to finish it, but at a huge cost in terms of time and financial loss of goods that would have served me better elsewhere. Will not make that mistake again.  Sorry GGS.  This event was neither fun nor rewarding.

I already finished it 3 days ago, but that's when I fully active. Rewards are doesn't worth with the effort. Perhaps in next time, I'll try in level 2 or 1 first before goes to higher level.
  • This event was poorly programmed.  How can GGS think that they can retain their players when the game is so poorly thought out and programmed?  The drop calculation for carrots and napkins wasn't calculated properly unless you are a full-time player who has no family, no job, a large Gourmet Farm, and no life other than this game.  The only way to win the decoration is to buy it with gold or spend all your waking hours playing the game.  Like many other players, I was disappointed and will not participate with this event in future.

I did spend all my waking hours on the game and still didn't get it done... simply put the drop rates are woeful, which makes this event impossible unless your a rich person who can gold.

A fully built Silo & Composter really helps on carrots & napkins.  The Silo is really slow (45 hours if fully built), but the composter is really fast (under 3 hours). Both drops a significant amount of carrots & napkins. If you've got the dung & leaves to spare, it's not a bad investment, especially if you plan on doing the event again.

I'll do it at least until I get one of each of the Decos (to unlock it in the tower), then I'll probably never do it again. The Deco is certainly nothing special, certainly not worth the investment of goods.

13 items are to "donate"...Only 3 things are "find, or collect"...
81% of what we're chasing will be donated items = the worlds most expensive deco... :(
Very expensive deco by the time we get it, while also depleting resources usually reserved for more productive purposes, in my opinion. Spruce and Poplar come to mind immediately...I think I'll be passing on this event probably every time it shows up. Cost versus value just isn't there for me personally.

I'd rather have more to donate because then I know that there is a possibility of getting the reward. I don't like relying on whether or not the game is going to drop enough in time so you can win the reward. Hmm rely on me or rely on game? I think I'd rather take my chance with myself.

Couldn't get enough napkins to finish this event. This is at level 3. I cant imagine what highers levels require. :(

To be fair to GGS, this event has only just started , and will probably be around for years . By that time players will have much more capable farms . Still too expensive for a middling decoration though .
  • Wish events weren't hidden behind exclamation points  or were listed on the calendar so you would know to look for them.  Although the reward doesn't seem to justify the time/product expended.

    It's baaaaaack!
Is anyone actually going to try to complete it?
I've recommended to my co-op members not to bother until it gets fixed.

I managed to complete Level 3 without using gold, but at considerable loss of valuable resources and time.  I started this second one at Level 1 and don't plan to put much effort into it -- just to see how it goes.

Okay, finished Level 1 fairly easily.  But loss of goods (no monetary compensation) still not worth it to me for the deco. This event is too detrimental to me and for the way I farm.  Cute idea, but I probably will pass this one by at any level.

Well the food truck is on again, and against my better judgement I've decided to try it again...

lets see if I can collect carrots in 4 days... I'm betting not!

Brave man lol. I chickened out, did level 2 comfortably . Why GGS don't start these events at level 1 is a mystery to me , you could then get a feel for it , and move up as it suits your farm .

Me too but looks like they haven't fixed drop rate. Who ever asked for collecting more than donating is probably using a lot of gold to complete. Watch what you ask for because everyone might suffer for it. lol

Almost there.. (I actually can pick level 4 but want to test level 3 again. Level 128 Farmer yet still doable for me).

How many hours per day did you spend?  How much gold did you spend?
